Alta Montana is one of the most or should I say the best five star boots in all of the world . You can't go wrong with their choice of skin. I have a 30-year pair that I treat on a regular basis and every time I wear them they think they're brand new
I have owned all different types of boots all different scans I love my alligator my ostrich and my lizard and my shark my stingray is awesome you just have to figure out when you're going to wear them
Does lizard has a bigger chance of cracking at the flexible joints then alligator skin? I prefer the look of lizard but if alligator skin is more durable, I would go for that. I can’t find that information anywhere. Would really appreciate your opinion.
Yes lizard skin is thinner but it also depends on how well you treat and condition it. I’ve had pairs come through the shop that were 30 years old and look great and pairs that are only a few years old that look like they should just be given up on. So just comes down to how well you treat them
How often do you wear? I have a pair of lizards, I use the Bickmore exotic once every 2 months. Small crack just developed on the right boot recently. Wear 3-4 times a week for almost one year.
For your case I would put the color of the boot cream on first rub it down into the skin cloth lightly buff it out and see how that helps you and then periodically after that put the reptile condition on
I think that you should condition your boots as often as you feel the lizard skin telling you you should condition it but make no doubt put shoe trees or shapers inside the boot.
