'has made a lot for LGBTQ people over the years' we did fine without her. we did fine without her writing songs comparing people not liking her to literal homophobia and transphobia*, too. also, isn't she the same person who'll ignore every point of view besides her own to the point of being called a white feminist (a feminist who doesn't take into consideration the intersectionality of oppressions such as being a black woman)? like, she might be doing things now, but she'll never be considered a 'good person' for the things she's done and then, as far as i'm aware, never apologised for or even acknowledged. frankly, the entire video for 'you need to calm down' feels like she's using the community to paint herself as 'such a good person uwu' but i have yet to see actual proof that can't also be read as her trying to project a particular image for her own reputation. there's some fantastic criticisms out there regarding her, this music video, and the song itself. read them sometime. --- * this video features ru paul, who's a long-time transmisogynist, so that sure is some mixed messages, huh. either she supports the trans community, or she supports ru paul. she can't support us and someone who thinks that the only difference between a drag queen and a trans woman is '$25,000 and a good surgeon'. support the whole community, or none of us, not this one dude who explicitly hates at least one group of the community because he's trash. my life goal is to fist fight both ru paul and taylor swift. i get bonus points if she writes a song about me.

Your statements are really toxic considering that a whole lot people still don’t support the LGBT or even accept it. Acceptance means moving on and being the better person, not being bitter.
