Cleaning up the riparian habitat and removing the old dam is to be commended. Same thing for helping your community at the same time. Thank you. Where you must be vigilant is taking care of the river and the aquatic organisms with free passage thru your structures. That same passage would be nice for drift boats too. As you look to build Max's Wave, understand there is a fine line between building it right and turning a free-flowing river into an amusement ride. That gets deep into the details of what you build and how you build it. Then you must plan on how to regulate it. Overcrowding and its effect on habitat is a problem on rivers everywhere. You have a big responsibility here. Good luck with your efforts.
