Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia is a legend. As for Shri Ram, we have a Laxman. I see Mr. Montek as a Laxman to Dr Manmohan Singh. They both made significant contributions towards Indian economy steering the country from a controlled economy at the hands of bureaucrats to a more liberalized economy. This video was posted in my family group in the morning, i was born in 2001 and now in my final year of MBBS had absolutely no clue about 1991 economic liberalisation . I am amazed why this is not taught in school. Post the podcast spent entire day reading articles & videos. One of best podcast on the internet i really hope it reaches a lot of people

This will go down as one of the all time classics. I am school teacher and I feel this podcast should be shown to all school students to deeply understand how India was before 1991 and role that Dr Manmohan Singh & Montek S Ahluwalia played was game changing. Always a pleasure listening to Mr. Ahluwalia. Well done! Jaspal Bhatti’s show “Flop Show” is great social satire on the mai baap license permit quota raj sarkar. There is an episode on the telecom department and funerals for dead phones lol. You should interview Swaminathan S. Anklesaria Aiyar for more details on the license permit quota Raj. He has written about how he bought a car under the journalist quota, used it for a few years and then sold it for more than he purchased it. He wrote a nice piece called “socialism kills” which has some interesting details.
People need to understand economic matters in better way and choose our govt. on basis of economic policy & not only on the basis of caste, creed or religion.

The government wants an economy that takes 'all sectors' forward. But in reality stagnation & crisis (local foreign) impact our performance. If 'money, investment, manufacturing business, foreign, war, disease etc.' is used as a 'tool or rule' then like the graph on an oscilloscope it's an 'up & down' affair. Reserves loans incentives give the -ve down on the chart graph to balance. So, governments play in foreign economies that's politics. Indian families in the majority rely on 'gold' & that's where the Govt needs to concentrate, Brics is on 'trial' it's not proven like Swift, it will need many 'updates & fixes' before it stabilizes. Here is the danger, some countries are bound to get 'blue screens' and breakdowns. If the CPU can't get the gigabytes from the hard drive or the mainboard has failed, or the graphics fail, it will be a 'sat siri akal' & markets will fall like dominoes !! 😊
