Monthly Makeup Goals! JULY 2024 

I love this video! Every week, I try to consciously incorporate some expensive palettes. I can't have Danessa and Pat getting dusty in a corner 😂😂😂

I've been doing a project since January (it's called Project Pan Roulette in case anyone is interested) where the focus is to show love for what you already have through usage goals. I pick 10 products randomly from my collection based on a list of prompts and work on reaching the goal for each product. For example in July, I need to use a product that fits the prompt "something red". Each product is rolled out once I reach the usage goal and then I pick a new one. I bought things in the meantime but the more I stick with that project, the more I find ways to get excited again with my collection (which is small). I almost picked up that "terracotta" shade from Nyx and I need to swatch it in IRL because it looks everything but terracotta 😅 I know I'm in the minority but I love the phase you're into these days. Being content with what you have and feel free to go with looks that suit the laid-back phase you're in 😍

Love that you are focusing on your contentment and mindfulness in purchasing! Hold on to your joy and enjoy what you have fully! It is a much more satisfying experience than the pleasure from getting new things. I don’t have enough makeup to do this. I try to use everything I have at least once a month… Enjoyed this thoroughly! Thanks for sharing your goals!

Summer definitely makes me want to less fussy makeup.

Every week or two, I swap out my color cosmetics; pulling a couple of palettes for looks I'm thinking of doing, an eye single or duo, the appropriate liners/mascaras, a few blushers/highlighters that grab the same vibe, and a few lippies to go with. Sometimes I will have to swap out the foundation/concealer/powders too, to set up the vibe that week. It helps me cycle through and if I really want something that's not right there in the everyday usage space, I can grab it (but rarely do). Just going through the process of deciding what I want that week, shows me how I already have everything I need +++. If I still want something, I usually check to see how many times over I own the same shade/color story.

Hello Cara! Makeup rotation content is fun cause we can see themes in collection. I feel as you about the purchase and pause mode. I am like staring down the face of FOMO. Lot of things I want...they get passed by. They keep passing me by, keep passing me by. Phar-Cyde It feels so much rewarding when you buy what you truly want for your makeup arsenal. Otherwise the purchase for sake of view will get pushed aside or occasionally looked at from time to time. Makeup tray is a great idea for any of us who want to rotate the tray to give more love. For some of us who have a medium to xxx-large collection, we got to get in there and get those looks. I just got a box of Waterloo Orange Vanilla. Not too bad but makes me think of a root beer. Would you ever consider dismantling palettes that you either semi-like or absolutely don't like to recreate new ones? I feel like it's a fun idea like an art project "makeup art" to not totally lose the entire palette.

I'm generally a disciplined person (like you, Cara), but just like you, as soon as I give myself a limit, I want to break it! I don't even like Oreos, but as soon as I tell myself "no Oreos" I'm going to buy them and eat the whole package in a day. I like your idea of giving myself a general direction to go in. You didn't phrase it that way, but that's what I took from what your said about buying less.

Lately I’ve been digging into my collection more and buying older palettes that I’ve been wanting for awhile and they go on sale. It’s not the latest stuff but it’s new to me. I still love doing dramatic looks for fun but when I go out, I feel more comfortable doing more undetectable or at least neutral for my skin tone makeup. By fall though I know I’ll want to do more Smokey eyes and deeper shades on the lips.

Unintentionally on a no buy cause nothing calls to me but i also made a point of pulling stuff out of my stash. But not picking ahead of time or forcing myself to use a specific palette.

I tried doing one palette a week. Got bored super quickly so now I pick a new one to use before bed. Sometimes it's the same one that calls to me but that lasts a couple of days at the most.

I love that you're shopping your stash. Also haven't been feeling eye new releases too much (which means less spending). However, I have been purchasing older stuff that's new to me lol. Been having a ball.

Chile, I’m not doing well. I blame the summer and me being stateside…. I need more discipline. I did just pick up the DM concealer, 9.5 balm, and blooming palette… I do plan on picking up the Fenty balms and liners… but I’m trying to not buy anything else (makeup wise) until November lol😅

I did the same with the Melt sale!! But i stayed strong and didnt end up purchasing. But im sure by black Friday it'll be on!! 😂

I love that you are doing this type of video. I do the same thing with mine, but I do it to see if they "move" me. If I don't look at myself several times a day and be impressed, it's got to go (mercari).

Complete no buys turn items precious, but seeing if you already have it works for many of us! I finally stopped watching foundation videos; I don't wear foundation. I still watch everything else, even though I am on a eye shadow palette no buy. Of course, I keep eyeing new palettes! Good luck in the heat (Baltimore and on vacation).

Girl, I’m okay. This job is trying me, and I want to quit, but I also want to buy a house lol. I got that tangerine blush from Nyx too. I also feel like terracotta should be like a red, like those houses with the red roofs. I’ve never set out to use certain products each month, but because I spent my money on them, I probably should lol. This is a good idea 🩵
