For instructionals, it is also useful to make a language agnostic one (kind of like lego's). Open Source Ecology did this for their 3D Printer the D3D, and Plan to do it for their future projects. Precious Plastic can probably do the same.
Just in case if someone thinks that "well, check the first airport, then another, then the last one", please consider that you might loose the whole day to go from one airport to another in Istanbul.
@@sanseraltinel8150 Mete'ye facebooktan mesaj attım. Dave ile irtibata geçsin diye. Umarım hızlı dönüş olur. Ben İstanbul'da olsaydım yardımcı olurdum çoktan.
For the beginning: Do you know of Shifthphones? They're trying to make phones that are more sustainable and repairable. Sorry if I'm annoying with this, if you do know of them just leave me a sign (heart, comment whatever) and I will never annoy you again :p :)
@@PTemnikov Well they plan on doing their Shift mu, which is an all-in-one (smartphone/tablet/Laptop). Maybe they'll come out with an laptop later on. They're still a startup you have to know. I don't know of any other manufacturer that plans on doing a better laptop, but I'm also not an expert in this field. Maybe research a little bit ;)
Thank you for mentioning us at 13:26 ❤️❤️ We will share more about how we improve our pp technic to produce a product in forum and our RU-vid channel 🙏
A fabulous update! All projects look so exciting! I echo the sentiment that the boat was not only brilliant in concept, but looked stunning out on the water! What a beautiful idea. Thanks PP team!
The boat is quite fascinating because you've actually made something useful out of waste plastic where a great deal of the "recycled" projects you see are just turning discarded crap into worthless crap... this is certainly the way forward.
I guess info about the boat project can be found here: www.theflipflopi.com/ and here: davehakkens.nl/community/forums/topic/the-flipflopi-a-boat-out-of-recycled-plastic-%E2%9B%B5%EF%B8%8F/
I'm just about to finish building the precious plastic machines to be used in a school in Brazil - Brasilia. I've got a hand powered shredder and an injection machine ...
Hi there I am from Ethiopia,I really like the boat. I would love to checkout the boat and also meet the team that build it, in Kenya. Can I get there contact.
Only thing I have concern about with it is the process of making it. Note how chips and particles of plastic that was laying around along side the men and women building it? This is a huge problem in itself and I believe they acknowledged this issue in another monthly update.
@@cjdvise I agree! That is also one super important thing which will be taken care of for the further process. They didn't work with any protection for themselves or to control the microplastics being released. 👀 So, big workspace and equipment upgrade on the to-do-list!
@@katharinaelleke4994 Excellent excellent! This has been a concern for me ever since I first saw Dave's "At Work" video which introduced Precious Plastic machines. I appreciate your clarity Katharina.
Hello! Dave, when you will in Russia? I want to meet with you very much!!! How I can to contact with you in internet or websites?? I tried to find you in Facebook, in VK but I didn't find.(
Oh man, I love that you show how to fix the laptop and see that it was something quite easy. We have started a company for selling refurbished products, but even when we are giving a one year guarantee, since we are kind of new in the market people don´t trust us :(. We have even heard people saying in forums that our prices are too good to be true and we must be some kind of scam! www.reketec.com/ . Of course I guess that the fact that we are selling refurbished is another stigma that we have to fight, although I don't think I have to explain to you all the environmental advantages of a refurbished equipment... Keep the good work!
So funny you're upgrading your laptop, i literally just ordered parts to upgrade my 2010 macbook pro (that i've owned since 2010). Replacing the HD with an SSD and replacing 4GB ram with 16GB! Should continue to be perfectly usable for another couple of years with these upgrades!
Hello Friend from Alex in Egypt .. I love your work .. I try to build the machines that I announced but I have some obstacles ... and greetings to all of you
Hello! I recently become a member of preciosplastic! I really like what you guys and girls are doing and I want to contribute! :) I have I question: I see that in the movie when the boat is build, you sand and polish the plastic. Won’t that create more micro plastic in the presses? Best regards and keep up the good work!
@@PTemnikov No I don't. I'm new in this "would of plastic” but I’m very quires to how to work with it. I want to help to solve one problem and not to contribute to another one. If you know what I mean. :) I see that Katharina Elleke send a link for that.
@@piotrkorpalski6876 what language do you speak? You can polish plastic by heating - it will become shiny. Or with using polish, then plastic will become waste. If you use grinder plastic will heat up, melt, stick to tools and burn. Filing will create plastic sand.
@@PTemnikov I speak polish, norwegian and english. So the best way to handle the plastic with out creating plastic sand or micro plastic is to use the method you talk about. Heating it and molding it to the shape. But i have to say the bout looks awsome! Are you also a member of preciousplastic?
@@piotrkorpalski6876 no, I am just a lazy nitpicker with interest in recycling and reutilisation) To cut plastic you can use knife, metal saw or better - soldering iron with replacing tips and temperature control. Form one of tips to a knife form and sharp it to 45 angle - mostly tips made from copper it won't be hard. Do not forget about breathing protection fumes considered to be toxic.
I am willing start a RU-vid channel only focusing on the plastic recycling and plastic related videos in my mother tongue Can I use your "Precious Plastics" title as my channel name?
Great to develop the digital realm, but remember telecommunication microwaves are a danger to humanity and the impending 5G network will ramp up the dangers exponentially. See thousands of peer reviewed studies that confirm this, at PowerWatch. Keep up the good work, but beware of creating new problems whilst trying to solve existing ones. Best. M
Shouldnt light be dangerous too then? Because visible light has a much higher frequency than the for example 5Ghz bands. Which translates to more energy. Or do I get this wrong?
"thousands of peer reviewed studies" - then please link at least one, the one's I've been reading show no significant danger. Edit: also, 5GHz has been a thing for years now, it's in no way "impending", many Wi-Fi routers and phones are capable of interfacing at 5GHz RF.
Thinking about all those little micro-plastic pieces being released from the production of the boat, let alone it just sitting there, makes we wonder. I think we should be trying to keep all plastics out of the ocean, unless completely protected from the ability to deteriorate.
