I spent a good portion of last year consuming diesel, putting hours on the tractors, and moving mud. Was it all worth it? Good question, let's take a look.
Looking good! Every time I think I have too many irons in the fire, I think of you. I've followed you improving the drainage on the property and it is cool to see the progress all rolled into one video. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Benjamin! The drainage work has been rewarding because it is easy to see improvements. One more wet area I want to deal with but it is going to have to wait for drier weather.
I am not exactly sure why but I think the water management videos are really fascinating. I find it interesting to follow along with your strategies and work and rewarding-even as a mere observer-to see the results and progress.
Thanks Brandy Yup a lot of hours but well invested. It is nice to think that these little improvements I have been making will be there for generations to come. It is a good feeling.
I am super impressed with your progress here and you should rightfully be proud of your activities! Where there's a will, you found the way! Impressive! You have reclaimed a lot of land (which took a lot of work and planning) which was unusable before and now as you say it would be great for some minibike/dirt bike trails for anyone! I wish I had a place like that to ride when I was a youngster and a Dad with the gumption and drive to "get 'er done!" I just discovered your channel and have been trying to catch up some. Can't wait to hear if the septic system you've started with the blue barrels will get the drain field created and run then connected to your cabin. What a nice place to get away from it all! Hope the bugs aren't too bad, but I can imagine being swampy like that, there are more than a few mosquitoes? In time do you plan to clear out all the dead pine 32:55 branches that is along the trails to allow more airflow? Yeah, like you have time to do that, eh? Keep up the good work!
Wow! Thanks Sam. Funny you should ask about the bugs. In the past they have been a non issue but this year in the woods the mosquitoes are pretty thick. Not sure why there has been a change? Anyway, thank you for watching and thank you for taking the time to send this nice note. Barry
