I'm surprised they went to Montreal or anywhere in Quebec being that the French and English never got along and being Quebec has more ties with France and not England or for that matter Canada who is a part of England. Oh , At the same time the French are not into the Royalty being that they got rid of their Royalty centuries ago , remember that ,.
@@halcyonzenith4411 I suggest you read what led the citizens of France revolt against their monarchy before yapping your mouth. The French were justified to get rid of their so called king just like any country gets rid of their leaders when they become absolutely useless. The French Revolution happed & it was great thing for the world !!
Exactly, lol But her family did have some major challenges. One of her siblings was disabled and the royal family hid them away from society. I think one of her sisters died at an early age? And her son was an adulterer...and her daughter in law didn't get along with her. Which is not an uncommon situation in society I guess.... But yeah she lived a very privileged life compared to pretty much everyone
I read somewhere that she was *technically* our head of state but idk if that’s accurate but I know that Canada was always a part of the Royal monarchy in some shape or form
@@nicwalker882 She was indeed the Head of State and was represented in Canada by the Governor General. Authority in a Constitutional Monarchy flows downward from the Head, not upward from the People as in the United States. That is why she would speak of "My Government". However, the Monarch represents the People.
Time for Canada to stand on its own two feet and become a republic. Kings, queens, princesses and princes are ok in Game of Thrones, but not for a modern, pluralistic democracy.
@Susan Sealy she had absolutely nothing to do with it. The crown gave Canada the right to govern itself. Stop blaming the royals and realize it’s your own leadership that made no effort to change. Many reserves still don’t have clean water and it sure isn’t the monarchy’s fault.
@Susan Sealy a throne of gold and a wall of gold? You really wish to touch into that. Something historical that you wish to be melted and divided out? Gold isn’t the standard for money anymore if we constantly print bills. Also… it isn’t a socialist nor a communist country. Why should it be split and given out? The majority of the royal wealth is in land not money. Speaking of which the amount of money they are given every year as far as taxes are concerned is often then placed back into the country’s budget to fix roads and whatnot. Who cares what she sits on and is in front of?
@Susan Sealy she hasn’t done me wrong as far as I’m concerned. I can mourn her as someone worthy of respect. She did so much for the country of England after World War 2. Much more in that period of time was done for England than many of us will do in our lifetime for any other country.
She literally lived a life of privilege, luxury and security and people think they can change the narrative to her being a working class person who was also an activist and a stateswoman its just hilarious.
You can't judge by some people .montreal has the most famous Universities and collage .which people study here and work in other cities because of good pay .so that is why you think other side is more educated .know your people better
A lot of you people forget that queen Elizabeth the second was CANADAS head of state ..why do you think she is on our money? its quite sad how ill informed so many Canadians appear to be especially younger Canadians.
It’s because the younger generation is retarted they lack the brain compacity to understand simple things young adults now vs a coconut which is the real coconut LOL barley any difference.
This isn’t about what she did for you directly, it’s about celebrating someone who selflessly gave their life spreading the word of morality, dignity and honesty without any sign of ego or arrogance. That should be respected RIP
Really, what about the children that went missing with her and Charles in Kamloops. Oops, we all forgot that. Good riddance. The ignorance is unbelievable.
This woman and her spawns lived freely and luxuriously on stolen wealth and the blood of the innocents slaughtered to build an empire. What morality do you speak of, (Colonizer, colonizer, colonizer).

Slow down, I'm not worshipping stability. If it works, it works. If it's broken, fix it, but actually fix it. Nothing wrong with everyone costing for a moment and enjoying life for what it is and if every few years we need to update/ upgrade, so be it, but get back to costing asap, and enjoy your time without the baggage.
@Susan Sealy Susan, no offence but you're probably reaping the benefits each day of all things you say you're against. Why do you even write in English if you hate so much.
It is a very sad day, indeed. As a Canadian, she was my queen, and a queen in the hearts of many all over the world. She devoted her life to public service, and was such an inspirational woman. Her dignity, strength and love of country were unmatched. You will be desperately missed and treasured always. RIP. Long live the King.
oh geeze, more people blinded to this families wicked, scandalous, evil ways...In this day & age there should be NO more monarchy's. open your eyes folks.
I'm not a monarchist in the least, it is archaic and unnecessary in a modern democracy. BUT I can't imagine a life where you can't go outside without 1000 cameras snapping pictures. Any life with zero privacy is a hard life in my eyes. She and her offspring have less freedom than any of her subjects, they are literally enslaved by their familial duties. Anonymity and freedom are glorious privileges, and I wouldn't trade mine for any amount of money and appropriated treasure. King Charles (or whatever name he chooses) is much later to the throne, and it is impossible for him to match her longevity. We'll see what Diana's kids choose to do with their "birthright". They very well may not embrace their ascension. The Queen is dead, long live the King (but death to the monarchy)
I’m right with her. Why should I care about someone that does nothing for me? Why should I care about someone who’s much better off than me? You think someone not caring equals them not having any history knowledge when that in of itself could be *why* they don’t care. For all you know it could be because she *does* know about her. I’ve seen a lot of moronic comments but this one takes the cake, I think
I think you're absolutely right. There are strict rules and these rules were violated in a last decade so (in fact) none of her descendants have a right to the throne. Not to mention that this medieval concept is ridiculous in 21 century in first place.
It's rather sad that some people don't see the falling of a cultural pillar. Feel free to bury the past of course, but don't be too shocked when your future ends up being a lot hollower and shallower than you expected.
Cultural pillars is what separates cultures. Society is meant to be open and free not centralized to one cultural pillar. Your way of thinking is old, your being left behind brother🫡
@Muky12, why don’t we cancel culture altogether then, and religion as well? Why do people come to Canada and desperately try to make it the place they can from. I suppose the it’s okay to have separation of society…. I.e. when it suits our clandestine agenda.
We could, like Barbados, become a Parliamentary Republic, with a ceremonial President as figurehead Head of State. No harder, no easier than finding a suitable G-G. Though unpopular in Quebec, the Monarchy has a symbolic importance to the First Nations that signed traités with it. Frankly, I’d let sleeping dogs lie. One advantage that I see of continuing with a Vice-Regal G-G is that he or she could always pass the buck to Prince Charles next time James Bauder, the Convoy leader, offers to co-govern the country with the G-G and Senate. It’s a solution that lets us ignore Bauder without hurting his feelings.
I don't mind having the monarchy, but could do without the governor General. The last few have been nothing but unqualified PM mouthpieces who are representatives and servents of the PM, not the Queen.
To our native, African and East Indian Ancestors RIP. One day, those who terrorized you, plundered your lands, slaughtered your children will cease to be.
Of course for newer generation who don’t care or it doesn’t affect them. However she was our queen and we were protected under her. She provided stability to the commonwealth and free passage in between them, one of the amazing thing under the monarchy is, that we are allowed to seek shelter at another one of those countries if we don’t like the one we are. Not a single other place in the world allows that.
As a born and raised Montreal who is now traveled pretty much the universe I have to say with sadness 😂 you will be missed She was a voice of reason I love the Queen
It's tragically sad that we've lost the Queen. Perhaps even sadder is the flippant ignorance of some people commenting about her passing or about the monarchy in general.
The only ignorant people are the ones who genuinely feel bad for her and the royal family, her and her entire bloodline r terrible people, responsible for endless deaths including children
We're in Quebec. A French location that has been the site of 2+ simultaneous cultural genocides at the hands of the British monarchy. That of the many First Nations, and of the French. You call us ignorant? Learn a little history, and get a clue.
lol lady at 0:35 i cant live under a monarchy, Canada is part of the british monarchy. Check your $20, pver 2/3 of canadian land is owned by the crown.
Its hard to feel bad when a king/Queen dies but we’re ‘supposed’ to I guess. I’ve heard and seen good things about her but heard a lot of bad things too so I have mixed feelings about it. I’m from Canada btw 🇨🇦
The fact that most people born in the millenial/zoomer generation share the same thoughts should show you just how non present the royal family is in our day to day lives. Her face resides on the 20$ Bill, the most common denomination. There's nothing regal about that. Should have been on the 100$ if you want to make me feel like its anything outside of Britain clutching to relevance via ceremonial traditions that syphon tax payer money across the commonwealth. This isn't Saudi Arabia. The Queen held no power and neither does this new King. If there are no serious plans for CANZUK then i couldn't care less about the Royal welfare family of the UK.
Your comment is NOT Warranted and your comment reeks of distaste. "Who is We?" You would be interfering with MY Heritage and Culture, maybe you need to be Cancelled....

@@rayhann8626 I agree with the point that the Queen did nothing negative towards us Canadians. The single fact that she codified our Charter (that Castreau has bastardized) makes her the most important monarch in Canadian history

Your comment sounds like 'the old generation' and I can understand why you would see it as 'so dismissive' ... even though she did acknowledge her passing as a 'historical moment.' The concept of a monarchy is an old, outdated and dangerous form of governance; it is a good thing that the younger generation does not hold it in such reverence as it was in the past.
Exciting for the Brits one way to put it..King Charles the REAL HEAD of the WEF and great reset...he is a lot more ambitious and ruthless.... Sad times ahead!!

No, she has good reason to not care for the Queen. The Queen and royal family oversaw the killing and genocide of seizure of land from Indigenous People and French Canadians. She is a French Canadian and has every right to not be sad about the Queen
