She was pure class personified. There really aren't enough incredible words to describe her singing, her beauty, her professionalism. Unlike most of us, she would never openly criticize or say a negative thing about anyone or any place. I sometimes feel the need to defend her when she really doesn't need it. She was gentle, sweet, and always complimentary of others whether they deserved it or not. I l just love the person she was and will always be remembered as. Be Blessed Forever, Montserrat Caballe'.

I feel like her message to the audience is, I’ve got this and she always did. The audience was so lucky. I think she always delivered such great work because she felt obligated and she enjoyed it so much. I know everyone felt so personally touched by her. I think if she could have, she would have swooped them all up in her arms in a massive hug! She was a lovely person all the way around!!!
One of my favorite and poignant arias for soprano. I never heard it sung quite like this, with such mysterious portent of impending tragedy. Mme. Caballe's voice conveys clarity, passion, gorgeous tone throughout her range. How I wish I could have heard her in person. This is a complete performance.
The dynamics of her voice are incredible! From triple piano to triple forte! And her perfect pronunciation! The perfection of her singing is truly awesome, and what a gorgeous haunting piece of music! this is truly opera at its greatest>

This is my favorite version of this tragic aria. Her dynamics, gorgeous tone, and the emotion conveyed are unearthly. The orchestra is so wonderful. Is that instrument an oboe? Played with perfect tone and emotion. This totally breaks my heart. Even if you don't know the plot you know there will be tragic fate for Desdemona.
Even the players in the orchestra seem to be affected by what they are hearing. She, wonder of wonders, pronounces nostrae properly. No one does. Bravissima.
I remember writing this a year ago. I am still so strongly affected by her gorgeous singing of this aria. And would have loved to have seen her in this entire opera. I would have cried for a week. Bravissima cara Montserrat Caballe.
