SPECIFICATIONS
Left Ear - Alternates between 8-9hz (Right Hemisphere Stimulation) - ALPHA
Right Ear - Alternates between 14-19hz (Left Hemisphere Stimulation) - BETA
☞ WHY THESE SPECIFIC FREQUENCIES?
The brains of depressed individuals appear to exhibit lower amplitude brainwaves, and appear to be deficient within the beta range. Alpha also seems overly abundant frontally, in the left hemisphere, and deficient in the right.
You could say that the right hemisphere, which tends to be loosely associated with emotions, needs to be tamed to a certain extent, while the left hemisphere, associated with logic and rational thinking, needs to be stimulated into taking the more dominant role over the two.
For people who are or have been chronically depressed, this may sound more than a little bit familiar as irrational thoughts are often a symptom of depression, which often perpetuate the cycle.

Make sure your headphones are on the right way around.
Sit or lie down comfortably and listen at a comfortable volume. It may help to close your eyes though this is not necessary

I think it depends on what you want to accomplish with the assistance of sound therapy. I love blue and brown noise with no music for panic attacks and misophonia freak outs, especially when I'm trying to study.
