I refinished our antique breakfast nook table a long time ago, over the many years we have ring stains and scratches but I love them because they are memories of our kids making food and projects at that table
The moody wall and rug and bed feel very masculine I love the vibe. I can't wait to see how you decorate it. The map will be awesome against the dark wall. Having projects does help us to keep our minds focused on moving forward. Life does have hills and valleys. As corny as it sounds... the sun will come out tomorrow!
Grief has no timeline. Over time it may come in waves or ripples. Taking care of you and your family is the priority. So happy you still made time for us to view all your amazing, moody inspiration! Love your home 💜
Thank you sweet friend! I have learned to listen closely to my body and take time away when I need it. We are all doing well and happy to be back sharing again! ❤️
A beautiful job, my friend. I lost my fur baby at 16 years as well - A cocker spaniel/golden retriever mix. They are such a treasured member of our family. My heart is with you and your family. Much love, prayers and blessings - Judith
I got goose bumps when you panned over the decor you will be using in his room. So sweet 😊. Enjoy the process and remember his little face during this time. Precious moments. And continue to be good to yourself and your family. Highest priority always. Thank you for sharing with us.
Sorry about the loss of your Mam and little dog.. You'll always have the love for them both in your heart. Keep your videos coming, they're a great inspiration.🇬🇧.
I’m so sorry you lost your sweet dog recently. My heart goes out to you for that loss. This room is stunning already; can’t wait to see it all come together. Everything you create is special, beautiful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing!
In keeping with the theme of your son's big boy room, life is about sailing on uncharted waters. The adventure awaits around every bend in the river. The talents we begin with are some of the tools needed as we navigate through the easy and tough moments. The more we stretch ourselves the more tools we put in our toolbox that will help us cope with the storms on this sea we call life. Love your enthusiasm and willingness to dive into new projects. Blessings on you all and your furry pal in rainbow bridge.
I just found your RU-vid channel and I am so happy to see a young person so interested in the past and keeping old stuff out of the landfills. A lot of your finds and walking through the antique places, I see things I remember from my past. You have talent, ma dear, so keep on shopping and looking because you not only help yourself, you help us!
So sorry for such great loss. Prayers for you. The space is beautiful! Can't wait to see the reveal. Your sweet son is going to have a lovely room. Love the work you do!
Your boy's room is looking so good. I am always happy to see when you upload a video, whenever it is. I can wait, since I know you are an excellent decorator. I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved doggie. It is very very hard to see them go. It will take time to feel better. I still miss my doggie that passed away 2 years ago. Hugs.
I love your decor style and videos, they're extremely well put together and everything you do is stunning, unique to you and timeless. I lost my Pomeranian 3 years ago, I'm so so so sorry for your loss
Grief is a tricking thing. It can pop up at weird times and take u off guard. Projects help me too so I know what u mean. Glad u can find some fun and productive things to do. The room will be so charming.
I imagine the loss of your mom is something you cope with daily and when her birthday/mothers day come around it is quite painful while everyone else is celebrating. Also, losing a pet you've loved for so long is heartbreaking. I'm thankful that you found solace in projects and creativity. This morning in church the sermon was about the man at the pool of Bethsaida. Jesus chose to heal him but he doesn't chose to heal everyone. He has his reasons. Your mom IS healed now in heaven and you'll see her again and Jamison will live with his grandma forever ❤ 💙 God bless you.
Thank you sweet Kim! Loss is terribly difficult but it does teach us lessons we cannot learn otherwise. Thank you for always being such a source of kindness! ❤️
I’m So sorry for all your loss but I’m happy you know how to have something good to do for your mental health. I LOVE this makeover. I love that it’s whimsical without being cutsie. And when you show all the toys it just makes me think of a kid daydreaming if all the adventures. It’s such an inspiration. Cannot wait to see the reveal. ♥️🖤
Man, I love every single thing you do. Take all the time you need. There’s no deadline for how life progresses. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. It’s the highlight of my day to see a post from you!
I'm so glad you are back. We all have to do what is best for ourselves. I'm sorry for the loss of your dog. They are family and they are loved. I love your style and I appreciate that you share you knowledge with us. Can't wait to see the finished room. Take care sweet family.
Thank you so much Martha! Yes, they are absolutely family, he is greatly missed. We are lucky to have had so many years with him. I appreciate you kind words, looking forward to sharing how it all turned out! ❤️
You have such a talent for design and curating and I absolutely loooove your channel. You have given me such inspiration for my own home and I have rebooted my decorating passion. Thank you! Grief is a long process and after we lost our 23 year old daughter, someone shared a quote with me that has stayed with me since and that is that “ grief is a reminder of the depth of your love”. I’ve learned that grief is not to be suppressed or ignored, but we must go “through it” in order to heal. My husband is a pastor and introduced the support group “ Grief Share” to our church years ago. It’s all over the country, so I’m sure it’s in your area. Take your time to heal. We will all be here. 🙏❤️
Love your sons room. I always watch your videos to the end and enjoy each one! I understand having tough grief days and the need for “comfort” things to do. Time does help and the way it has helped my grief is that as time passes I feel grief then I remember all the great moments and the happy times out weigh the grief. I hope for this for you. 🤗 I have to tell you that your videos have inspired me and my daughter. For example, we love the way you decorate for Halloween, which is a favorite holiday for us. Please keep making videos when you can and thank you from us for your inspiration.
This comment made me smile! I love that you and your daughter watch together and feel inspired, reminds me why I share it for others to see! Thank you for sharing that with me and for your kind words, they mean so much! ❤️❤️❤️
Looks beautiful, can't wait to see the reveal, everything you do always Looks wonderful, God bless you and your family and may God heal your brokenness you feel with your mom, I lost my mom almost nine years ago and I think about her often and cherish all the memories I have of her.
The bed is gorgeous. You have inspired me to use those products on the old bed in my spare room. I am sorry to hear about your dog. It is always to heartbreaking. I am looking forward to seeing that sweet boy's finished room. His excitement is catching.
I'm loving the look of this room. Gorgeous bed and I love the lamp. So sorry for your loss. It's never easy and we need the time and space to heal. Looking forward to the next video.😁
❤ just love it! I also love old world style and you do it perfectly and elegantly! I’m sorry for your heart aches 😢 I will pray the Lord gives you much comfort as only he can 🙏🏻❤ your son and hubby are blessed to have you❤❤❤
I lost my mom last December from covid pneumonia. And the summer prior, Winter, our great dane fur baby, passed unexpectedly from a tumor we didnt know she had on the back portion of her liver. She left us quickly. Losing those with love with every ounce of our being is an unexplainable heartbreak. I completely understand how you're feeling. And I am so sorry for your loss. Both your mama and your fur baby. Keep yourself busy, but allow yourself to grieve, love. It's okay to do so. I no longer have my mother or father, but with each passing day, I find a little bit the strength I was given by both of them, and I know they would be proud of my effort to try and move forward and carry on their love, wisdom, and legacy. You're doing the same thing. You're going to be okay. I promise. You are beyond gifted and you have taught myself and many others quite a bit about bringing beautiful, lost vintage pieces back to life. You've got the touch. Don't stop doing what you love. The best way to honor your loved ones is to continue your journey and doing what you love. What makes you happy. Being parents ourselves, our children's happiness is all we want for them in this lifetime. And our parents would want the same for us. Your mom wants you to be happy. You got this! Stay strong and carry her legacy with you and show her love in every piece you touch. I will say a prayer for you. May God Bless you and provide you much happiness! ❤
Love your videos! I'm newer to your channel, but love every video from start to finish. I'm sorry you lost your furbaby. Love, peace and healing to you. 💖
I love the beautiful bed you found and refinished. It fits right in with your home's style. I inherited a full sized walnut antique bedroom set that was built in the early 1900s and loved it for many many years. Old pieces were built much better than the pieces made now. Your son is a cutie and seems so excited about his big boy bed.
I love what you did in your sons room. I am new here from Sarah at She Hold Dearly. I am sorry to hear your 1mom passed. I lost my Dad 12 years ago. And his birthday was Sunday! So I totally understand.
It's so lovely to see you ❤ and how beautiful is that bed, what a lucky little boy ~ I'm sure he's gonna love it! Love everything about his room ❤ I can imagine how difficult it's been for you these past couple of weeks ~ you're doing great ❤❤
Your taste is impeccable! I just love everything you do… and I’d wait forever to see it! Take care of yourself and know that people are thinking of you. 😊
Everything looks great. I like to start with a base coat of black paint when gilding things. Then use a make-up brush to apply the rub and buff. Gives it a beautiful aged look.
I’m sorry to hear what you have been going through, you are a strong beautiful lady who has a platform of people who adore you, we will always be here for you, be kind to yourself, your mum is so proud of the beautiful woman and wife/mother you are ❤❤
Love your style. Your very creative & knowledgeable. Healing from a loss of an precious animal or loved one takes time.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I am a new subscriber. Thank you for sharing.
What an awesome room love everything you did to make a wonderful room for your son thank for sharing. From the daughter of a carpenter love how you saving the antique pieces have a wonderful day
I have missed you and the bed is beautiful....I have told my husband when he asks me "why" I drag things home from the curb or a thrift shop that I just want to save all of the beautiful old things. My 13 1/2 and 11 year old grandsons always ask me :why do you have old stiff? I am so sorry about your fur baby... that is a gut punch for sure... I hope you adopt a new dog who needs a loving family some day.... your work along with your husbands is lovely and so inspiring...
So sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing your experience on finishing his bed. I’m getting ready to start my grandpa’s china cabinet. I’m always a bit apprehensive about messing projects like this up, so thanks for sharing what you learned. Love all the decor you got. I can’t wait to see how it how it all turns out! ❤
Oh, I totally understand that hesitancy with antiques, especially the ones that hold sentimental value. If it’s in good enough shape Restor-a-finish is a really great EASY fix. There’s no messing it up really! Thank you so much, I’m excited to share how it all turned out!! ❤️
Hello,Sorry for the loss of you Pomeranian,I too loss my Pom earlier this year she was 12 1/2 years old.We now have a male Pom he is 6months old….I love you style. Thank you for sharing with us.
To be immersed in books in book nook you could put up a few book bookshelves. They are usually metal and you put open book over, spine out so books look like floating on empty wall to right of tent canapy. Old books look good.
Beautiful job.... as always!! I have just retired and have soooo many projects planned. I love all of your videos, they literally make me smile!! I cant wait to do some major transformations in my home!!
We were never able to have children, but if we had, I was planning to do a similar room…one that the child could grow with, not all garish /cartoon/plastic that so many children’s rooms end up as. I am looking forward to seeing the final result! I know it is going to be absolutely perfect!
Thank you Rebekah! We had a bit of a bumpy road in our journey to becoming parents, I know that’s a tough road to go down, my heart goes out to you. I agree, a design that can grow with them is best! ❤️
I think you are absolutely adorable..I just found you on you tube..I do not decorate in your style...but I completely admire what you do..so interesting..love what you did for your son's room..so many unusual decor items..I look forward to watch your many videos..thank you
I've only watched 2 of your videos... the mirror wall one which is how I found you and then this one. I could literally binge your channel! I have the exact same style, and even some of the same antiques. But you have opened me up to new wqys to style my home. I have a closet with shelves of things that find and thrift bc they are old and tI love them but then I don't know what to do with them. So I just end up with all kinds of old things I've been collecting vintage art related items to redo my daughter's childhood room She is a graphic designer and loves vintage too. I want her to feel like she stepped back in time like Beatrice Potter's writing studio or Ms Mustard seed's art studio. She only visits once a month. Anyway, I hope you continue to deal with things through your creativity. You are so beautiful with such heart and I can tell I am going to enjoy your videos. Can't wait to see the reveal..The bed is a gem!
I've never commented but always enjoy watching all of your projects come together. I especially love your seasonal decor. You so clearly put a lot of care, effort & time into everything you do... sending you love & well wishes through hard days & all the others🤍
