In this video we will share a comparison between the Mooer GE 250 and the Headrush GigBoard. Actually, I hope that this video will be useful for guitarists, who maybe want to buy a new amp modeling and multi effects pedalboard in the 450-550 price range and are unsure which one to choose. Let me say that both the pedalboards are good options, but maybe one of them has that extra feature that better suite your needs…So, the arguments we will discuss together are: the technical differences between the two pedalboards, in terms for instance of in/out, sampling frequency and so on and so forth…Then we will better listen to the sound differences, that you are already hearing in the demo song…Finally I will give you my 2 cents. Even if I'm using the same amps, cabs, mics and effects, these units sound pretty differently in my opionion...and these differences are more obvious in the "more sound" section of this video...Let me know what's your opinion and if these sound differences are a key deciding factor for you...I hope you enjoy and please don't forget to subscribe and hit the notification bell...it would be of a great help!!!

I had both and it was a hard decision, but the GE 250 is the better choice for me. For live using the GE 250 is a winner, and for home using so flexibel with the looper and the drum machine. Many regards from germany. You make a fantastic job 😊

Great test, agreemwith you, only the hollow body clean I found better on the Headrush! Your intro very nice, rock and clean jazzy soloing..simply great.. Plus driving rythm guitar with🎶👍 acoustic at the end..lovely!

Hi Leo, thank you for testing these units for us. Request: Could you please add the information about the looper "layer undo" function to the comparison table? Some built-in loopers only have a reset/clean function, which makes looping much more difficult. One mistake and you need to start from scratch. Thanks!

Hi, this is a pretty good suggestion!!! Actually, the Gigboard looper in very solid: it has a specific function with which you can delete the last added layer of the looper and another one with which you can delete the whole loop. With the Mooer (as far as I can tell) you can only delete the whole loop. Thank you for your question!

Thanks for doing this! I like the review. Did you put any IR in any of them? I have a Gigboard and am loving it. It's very intuitive in my opinion, and it takes me 2 up to 5 mins, depends on what kind of setting I need. If I am going to achieve more like an ambiance type of sound or something easy.

Hello, Just saw this video now, I have the Headrush Gigboard and a friend of mine is offering to swap my unit to his Ge 250. I am now really leaning to exchange my unit to GE 250 but do you think it will be really worth it? I always play live, and though the Gigboard is a great unit, I can't seem to get the gain that I really want compared to my Zoom G5 from many years ago.

Hi, it's really hard to answer...once I will finish the direct comparisons between these units I will try to do a video summing up my conclusions and my opinions, I mean the pedalboard in the 400-600 price range that I prefer the most. It's gonna require some time....so I kindly ask you to be patient...as it's gonna also require a lot of deep research. Yo tengo la Gigboard y un amigo tiene la mooer ge300 y te digo que la Gigboard suena mejor de lejos, sonido mas real sin ese toque digital sobrecomprimido que tiene el mooer y te estoy hablando del mooer ge300 que suena aún mejor que la ge250, estas comparaciónes de RU-vid son muy engañosas porque parecen del mismo nivel pero al probarlo en persona es cuando te das cuenta de la gran diferencia. Además la Gigboard tiene el mismo procesador, mismo software, hardware y misma calidad de sonido que la Headrush Pedalboard incluso los presets som intercambiables entre ambos, osea comprando la Gigboard tienes la calidad de la Pedalboard pero en un formato mas pequeño en cambio con la mooer ge250 no pasa eso ya que NO tiene la misma calidad de sonido que la ge 300

Thank you! My only concern is that there is almost a 200$€ gap between the Ampero and the Headrush, so I don't know if it's gonna be a fair comparison...I'm gonna think about it...thank you for your suggestion!!!

I own both the Ampero and the Headrush pedalboard. I can tell you the the Ampero is the better unit. Since getting the Ampero I've let the Headrush gather dust. Why? Well the Headrush sounds fine but is unfinished and not fit for purpose. Let me explain. Every Amp guitar, FX or mixer has knobs or sliders which you can see at a glance where you are. All the other modeler boards show in graphic detail where a knob position is. You can see it's at 12 o,clock or 5 o'clock or it has a bar that moves to show how much effect is used. The Head rush just has numbers and despite having a touch screen you cannot use a finger on it to slide and change a value. You HAVE to turn a knob. To make things worse even though the knobs are continuous when you reach zero or 100 it does not wrap round, so you have to spin the knob like a real old fashion knob. Clockwise UP - Anti-Clockwise DOWN. The Headrush is a pain in the arse to use. They NEVER update the firmware and there is no Computer based editor to help you. The Ampero is regularly updated and innovative to use. You can connect to a computer to edit it. It may be cheaper but it sounds just as good, is fully supported and has better effects. I regret buying the Headrush. Leo if you are going to review stuff you have to consider ease of use and software support. PS on your Ampero vs ge250 you claim the Ge250 has 11 slots / effects at a time. 2 icons for an FX loop in/out is NOT an effect. So the GE250 has the same as the Ampero 9. 10 if you count the Volume pedal as an effect. I do like you style of review but you are just inaccurate.

Hi, not sure...I personally think that it is not so useful, I mean I prefer to build presents with the computer app, and then to make just little adjustment with the pedalboard...for this workflow a touch screen is not so mandatory... but this is me...I don't know what builders are going to do. Hi, Leo, I have a question: Have you tried to update the firmware from 1.1.0 Beta to 1.1.0 ? Can you make a video about it? I'm following the instructions but the ge 250 keeps blinking and never goes into boot mode. I need to know if mine has some kind of defect =( thanks for all the videos!

thank you for your reply! could you do me a favor and just try to start it on boot mode? that would at least give me an answer on whether it's a bigger problem or just my unit. I know Mooer updates their firmware, so, if I can't update mine, I'll return it to the shop and get a new one that works. thanks a lot!

Hi, sorry for the late answer: when the lights are blinking the GE 250 is in boot mode! Then you have to launch the editor software and press update in the little window that appears...it takes few minutes...I will post a video as soon as I finish editing it..it's gonna take some days...Thank you for your question and please let me know if you have other questions...sorry once more for being in late...

Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion with us! I really respect and appreciate your message, let me only say that in this video I try to give you an idea of the basic sound of the two unit I'm comparing trying to match exactly the settings (for instance same amp, same eq setting, same drive, etc. same simulation of cab but with the IR built in the unit), without starting to twick the tone. My idea is: this is the basic tone you can get without twicking, your starting poit from where you can evolve. Of course the other approach would have been to try to match the tones, modifying the eq, charging the same IR in both the unit and so on and so forth: also this approach could be right, but it's not the point of my video, where I want to show you how the unit sounds with the same setting, with the same starting point. Maybe in the future I will do other videos trying to match the sound of a specific amp, twicking the settings and veryfing which unit can get closer, but in my opinion this is a diffferent approach for a different purpose. Both approaches in my opinion have pros and cons and can help to have an idea of how the units sound. Thank you once more for your message.

Hi Yeremia, your suggestions are more than welcome. In my opinion the more "tweaking" approach should be used if we compare these units to a real amp and we want to verify how close we can get...I think I'm gonna do some videos about it. Thank you for your message and your suggestion!
