Leo you are an official bad ass on those guitars! Loved your playing as well as a fantastic review as usual. I'm deciding on which one to get so this is very helpful! Cheers!
To me in this video it sounds like the Boss has much higher resolution in the amp sounds, one thing to note is that the Boss can have dual amp and cab blocks and parallel processing of effects unlike the Mooer with an effect chain that is more flexible than the one on the Mooer, i think you have a bigger number of effectblocks as well in the Boss. I have been considering both of these units, im currectly leaning towards the GT-1000. I have been using Boss products for about 35 years though, so im used to their way of doing things and like it and i have personally been a witness to the great reliability of their products which is a selling point for me.
Hi Stefan! In my opinion the Boss has far superior ADA converters and this has an impact to the sound and feel...nevertheless the Mooer has the tone capture feature, which is pretty effective if you have an amp to "profile". You are right about the dual amp..thank you for pointing it out!!! Please let us know your final decision, as it could help other guitarists to choose...thank you for your message!!!
@@LeoGibsonGtr Hey Leo , my only concern is the feel, actually i dont care how the processors sound, since todays tech is so good, so when it comes to feel can we say boss is better than the products below its price range? Thanks for the great reviews as always....
I really enjoy your video's and your guitar playing is excellent. But I have to say that when you did the video for the MOOER GE 250 vs GE 300 comparison the GE 300 sounds way better than it does in this video? I was ready to buy a GE 300 but now I'm not sure. Is it possible that you may have used a different recording method? Keep up the great work..
Hi, first of all thank you very much for the appreciation of my work! I've recorded both the units, using the XLR out. Another thing I would take into consideration is that I'm using the same settings for both the units, therefore for instance I've not used the dual mic available in the GE 300 or the early reflection functionality. These two functions will "increase" the sound of the GE 300. Thank you for your message!
Hi Leo. Thank you very much for this comparation,. Great video and very nice guitar channel. In my opinion the Boss gt 1000 sound is more natural than Mooer ge 300. Good job, congratulations from Spain.
I have to say the GT-1000 sounds a lot better than the Mooer. Great video, you do the best comparisons. By the way, new firmware is apparently coming for the GT-1000 on March 17.
I think the Boss GT 1000 is far superior in terms of sound quality. Also it has features like amp control that is a huge feature! Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘
Bravo Leo! This is what i was waiting for! Tnx! I am very suprised that Boss gt-1000 sounds so much better and smoother than the mooer ge300 which sounded too plastic to my ears...
Hi, thank you so much!!! In this video I try to give you an idea of the sound of the two units with basic settings (equal for both the units): tweaking the parameters you can improve the sound of the Mooer. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the ADA conversion and the audio interface of the BOSS are far superior than the one of the Mooer, and this has an impact in the sound and feel....On the other hand the Mooer has the tone capture feature that is pretty effective...It would be nice to have a unit with the merge of the pros of the two...😊 Thank you for your message!
The MooerGE300 does NOT sound like that. There seems to be some sort of bad eq/adjusting that made it sound that way. Even on your GE250 v.s GE300 video, your GE300 sounded real bad. Nice effort but check your GE300 man.
Her incelemede mooer ge300 büyük övgü alıyor.
Thanks for this great video ! The absence of the Aux Input on the Boss GT-1000 is a no go for me. I don't even understand why this simple feature is missing from a gear of this price range.
I just noticed that after re-watching this video! Never thought they could skip this input. The unit would be absolutely unusable for me as I like playing with backing tracks and aux is the easiest way to do it.
Dang! I was about ready to get a GE 300 but in this video the boss GT 1000 definitely sounds better. I have the boss GT 1000 but I think it is rather user unfriendly. I thought the GE 300 looked to be more user-friendly and that’s why I am interested in it. However, it doesn’t sound nearly as good in this video!
LEO you a wonderful and humbling soul a great inspiration as always ways great job and for a guy has has played and toured for 30 + years great work mate when this covid drama is over i would love to bring you to AUS to my studio great job my friend :0)
Thank you Chris! Your compliments and words of appreciation are really important for me!!! This Covid situation is very sad and is hurting a lot the ones of us who are touring musician! Hope this end soon and that your are safe!!! I think we are not so close to be able to meet in person...but I would enjoy if you share some info about your studio (if you want you can drop me an email). Stay safe!!!
Great video. I Just would to say that watching this video from tv i had to keep changing the volume ALL the time cause the music and Voice volume was very different each other. While the music volume was Fine the Voice part was to lown and vice versa.
I have been a big fan of your playing I always like your content. Can you please make a comparison video between Mooer GE-300 and Hotone ampero 100. Would be great to hear from you. Nice comparison as always
Thank you, I'm super happy that you like my playing! Yes, that would be an interesting comparison, but I need time...Actually I did a poll in the channel and the majority of you ask for the comparison with the POD GO. That is gonna be the first comparison I will do...then I will do the other...even if these video comparisons are very time consuming and from time to time I need some rest...😀....or I need to make different videos... Thank you!
2:41 man that was a good run :D well i liked the tones of the boss in this video. And I have seen Nina Strauss uses GT 1000 in her solo gigs and says she loves it. so that must be good(appeal to authority fallacy besides :D). But in this date GT 1000 is double the price compare to GE 300 in my country (Turkey). So i think GE 300 is a good choice.
I have a Mooer GE 300, and I can say first hand that it's awesome. I've noticed that the sound comparison is quite different, almost like there's something different on equalization... Got to check this. I've always used boss gear, and of course it sounds amazing. Boss signature effects are top of mind since always, and Mooer did a great job offering some great effects too, quality on sight. The ONLY thing I did not like on mooer are the phaser effects. Boss has a far superior quality on phaser sounds....
Simple change IR and your sound of emulated amp be different. So I'm not sure that it is necessary to compare. Only IO and many of possibilities are important. BTW, the Roland (BOSS) are own sound. They not emulate. They tell you, how in must be. ☺️
As a suggestion, I think you should add to the comparison “the building” or “Structure”. I mean, how does it feels on the hands, even the weight. Just saying. 😉 Greetings.
Hi, thank you! You are right, I could have tweaked the knobs to match the sound, but with this videos I prefer to give you an idea of what you are gonna have with the same settings for both the units...I mean with the same starting point. Otherwise I would have started tweaking the eq, the drive, the cab and so on...basically trying to match the sounds, with the risk to mess it up biasing it with my opinion/ears. Thank you for your message!
How about a comparison of actual/analog tube screamer to an actual plexi amp against any of multi fx? say mooer 300 then helix then boss gt1000? thanks in advance leo. great playing and content btw.
Hi, first of thank you so much, your appreciation in my playing really means a lot to me! Yes, these are actually great suggestions...thank you!...I have few videos in the pipeline...and I'm struggling to keep up with all the requests...I'm sorry for that...
Tocas fenomenal suenan muy bien tus presets con tus amps y me gustan mucho tus canciones y que decir de tus guitarras y mas esa suhr blackse ve y suena increible🔥🔥 Me recomendarias el helix para tocar?
Thank you so much, I'm really super happy that you appreciate the videos and the playing! Yes, Helix is still a good options, thanks to the many firmware updates done over the years. Thank you!
I would have given the screen point to the GE-300, because the display is so well organised and so easy and fun to navigate. This was one of the reasons why I bought one a few days ago. The Boss LCD is just ugly and outdated, sorry.
I am waiting the ge300!I have already ordered it.But after this video..the truth is that i was worried*...I have been using Boss pedalboards for 15 years+..I was unhappy. Digital and fuzzy tones..Could you tell us how the power amp activates?I read it in another video but noone told us what is this and how we can enable it in ge300.Another top act!Well done Leo! * worried about ge300 sounds..i am not impressed with boss...stil hides picks and frequencies..
Thanks for this deep Dive with great tone (Play) examples! My personnal winner is the GT 1 k based on the sound and resolution of tones when you strum chords👍 As i think the Marshall Jcm was the best plexi sound in your test so far, i would wonder If you would not get a better Image from the Ge 300 with tone capture from your real amp rather them using the internal plexi setting which i found very glassy..i found it was more like the Marshall Studio Vintage rather than a old Plexi..but i might be wrong? The aux in If it comes with a separate Volume control could be a great Feature for bedroom Jam along Players using various tone sources for backing Tracks etc. So finally my 2,5 Cents a Marshall Plexi a Celestion Greenback Cab and a GT 1000 to be the pedal Board will by my best choice!!
this is a great comparison...do you know which one is better for metal tones? Meaning which one has the closest metal tones to tube amps like rectifier, soldano, 5150 etc...
Thank you!!! Well, I think that if you are looking at those amps, maybe the GT1k could not be the one for your, as for instance it does not have a simulation of the Soldano, and I think that also the 5150 is not available. I would suggest you to check out the user manual to verify which amps are available. Thank you for your message!
It is very strange... in yours comparison of GE300 and GE 250, the 300 sounds more like the Gt in this comparison, more full with much more body (low mid) , and the 250 sounds like the 300 in this comparison, hollow, with much less mids... do you agree? and if yes, do you know why? Usually I like very much yours videos and the guitar playing!
I love my GT1000. Hadn’t heard of Moorer before so my comparison was to Helix and I didn’t like the nasal quality to Helix. Do you have patches available?
Without some serious tweaking the Mooer is just not good. The factory presets are very poor in general. But when you invest some time and your use your ears this thing will come alive!
@@LeoGibsonGtr The GE300 is a device which is made with some impressive features but it needs some time for you to discover! I bought it online and when i got it i initially was disappointed because of the factory presets. As i mentioned before, take some time with it and the thing really comes alive! Choose an amp you're familiar with and try different cabs. Once you've found a nice combination you can tweak with the EQ and ad some nice delays and reverbs. What's really nice about this device is that you can use your settings on a real amp and cab with the cab sims off. It only needs a little adjustments to make it sound great. Just copy your settings without the cabsims to another patch! Here's a little clip of the Mooer GE300 with my band: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lw8mEpaCfEc.html
Hi, in my opinion it reacts reasonably to your touch / volume. Not like a tube amp...but reasonably. Thank you for your question and your interest in my channel!
I just bought the GE300 and found that all of the patches have a high end "sizzle" that's not very realistic...I noticed that in this video too... I'm returning it in favor of the Boss GT1000.
I have a GE300. I’m considering buying the GT-1000. The effects in the mooer suck. The amps are okay. But the effects are just awful. The effects in the GT-1000 are the same as the 500 series. I had an MD-500 and it was the best modulation I ever had. The best modulation device on the market by far. Above strymon.
HI, it's an hard decision! These are both very good units...in this video I try to give you an idea of the sound of the two units with basic settings (equal for both the units): tweaking the parameters you can improve the sound of the Mooer. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the ADA conversion and the audio interface of the BOSS are far superior than the one of the Mooer, and this has an impact in the sound and feel....On the other hand the Mooer has the tone capture feature that is pretty effective... Thank you for your message and, please, if you want, let us know your final decision...it may help other guitarist to choose...see you!!!
Truthfully, I actually like the mooer better and have one, after considering a GT1000. You can actually edit a lot and to me, it's easier to edit. You even have like 10 different types of tubes you can pair in the amp. Leo is a fantastic play, but in my opinion, the patches I made are better than what is shown, and better than the stock patches. But hey, it's all subjective so check one out and see what you like more.
If I use the GE300's Tone Capture to emulate a stompbox, would I be able to use it separate from the OD/Dis block? I dont see anyone considering it but being able to stack 2 stomps in the signal chain is a huge deal especially if youre using it with a guitar amp.
In the G300 you have 3 blocks where you can place a dist/od. 1 Od/dist block 2 fx1 block 3 fx2 block In the fx you can use Od/dist, modulation effects and many other...
To my ears the GT-1000 sounds like every other Boss GT that I've heard and played, dull, compressed and one dimensional. The cleans are just horrible (as usual) it's basically like plugging your guitar directly into a PA. You'd think that Boss would have learned how to do decent cleans by now, but no. I've seen some guys commenting that the GE sounds better than in this video, and to be honest I thought it sounded pretty good, seriously considering getting one, great dynamic range, note articulation and harmonics. Thanks for the video Leo, good stuff! 😘
In my opinion your eq Settings to compare are not good! You can’t leave them to neutral when it’s not fix together, I mean it were good when you presented the best sound You get out of it, or not?
Hi, here the eq settings are the same for both the modelers, in order not to introduce biasing (the eq of the amps is basically with everything to noon). In other videos I used a different approach, try to match the sounds, for instance here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xwHVa_jAUU0.html Thank you for your message!
@@LeoGibsonGtr Ah ok i understand! Yes you right...thats is true. But Not really Expressional, in my Option....but i understand why you do that .. otherweise this Test will Not Work! True!
Hi David, I will for sure make comparisons with the POD GO, as soon as I will be able to get one...It should become available in few months...even though maybe the coronavirus could have an impact in the availability of the unit...thank you for your message!
The mooer sounds crap in the mix but ok on its own, boss too much mid range alway been like that. Listening with head phones and boss seems in stereo mode and mooer wasn't?
@@LeoGibsonGtr I look at yours vidéos and it's the one who have so much difference beetween 2 pedals.I was thinking that you equalize the Mooer to sound less better than the Boss. If it's not ,the Boss Wins easily.😎
Nice vid as usual. Please would you consider ease of use and software in your reviews? Modelers may sound good but be a pain to program. The thing that will drive most people mad is a shit interface and bad (nonexistent) software that is badly written. Why the Headrush sucks? Really bad numerical based UI with no representation of real knobs. No control adjustment using the touch screen and No computer software. Firmware updates are released when there is an eclipse ie NEVER. Why is the Ampero good? The UI is magical and EVERYTHING can be adjusted via the touchscreen. The computer software is very good. You get regular firmware updates that kill bugs and add new features. Sorry to rant.
Thank you. These are all good considerations...to me the Mooer interface is pretty easy with that row of switches below the screen that provide easy access to effects amps cabs and so on...The Ampero is really easy to use...the only painful things are the reamping functionality of the Ampero (a nightmare...). I was also surprised by the fact that the Gigboard is missing a software editor.. the GT1k has a not easy hardware interface, but the software is pretty nice and easy... Thank you for your message.
@@LeoGibsonGtr I just switched from 3 years of gigging with the Headrush and I am amazed at how much better the GTK feels and especially responds. I just wish it had another row of buttons:) Thanks for the comparison, good job:)
