Loved the time signature changes and riffage in the demo song. I always come for the demo songs, but stay for the reviews. These seem like very versatile pedals and a lot of value for the price. God bless and rock on 👍🎸😎
Hey everybody my name is LEY O! I love this channel. :) Good reviews and epic composition/playing. I am kinda blown away by the tone. It is really good.
Thank you for a wonderful demo and review Leo. I really adored the slower 'rock' section of the intro demo! The Super Sonic +AC15 demo was wonderful, exactly the kind of tone Im after. If I can ask a very basic question please - with these two wonderful sounding pedals, my favourite OD before the Amp and something like a H9 before the Cab... all I would need would be some sort of FRFR speaker(s) or go direct to FOH? If so, wonderful news for my aging back!!! Thanks again 🙂
Hi, thank you, I'm really happy that you like the song...I have to say that I also like the slower section especially the solo...it is in my head since few weeks... Yes, you can go to FRFR speakers or to a mixer. The only thing to take into consideration is that the output are not balanced, so you shouldn't be using too long cables, to avoid noise. Thank you once more!
Thanks Leo, all your review are always useful and well done! Would be interesting to hear the preamp also with other cab simulators (Cab M+ for instance).
Thanks Leo your videos are always great.. If you have an opportunity You should consider reviewing about different frfr speakers that can be used with multi effects pedals in live setting..
Hi, thank you so much, this is a great compliment that makes me happy! Yes, it would be interesting...the problem is in acquiring the speakers, as they are pretty expensive..and so far gear manufacturer are not sending them to me...we will see. Tank you!
Thank you Antonio, really super appreciated!!! I was very happy with the song and especially the solo...I can't get it out of my mind since few days...Thank you once more!
The preamp arrived. The Plexi sounds like early ZZ Top, the Tweed like Neil Young, so I'm very happy with it. I don't know much about some of the high gain amps, but nothing sounds bad. I haven't tried using the app, but overall I'm impressed. So it sounds great, it's compact, simple and cheap. Thanks for the review!
Hi Leo! Great demo once again! Btw, should you add time based effects in between these 2 pedals? or pair them and add the time based effects after the CAB pedal?
Hi Andrei, you can do it in whatever order you want. Typically you put time effects between the amp and the cab...but, for instance, when you record your amp and cab miced, you typically apply the time effects in the DAW...that's the way I typically use... Thank you for your question!
Moore PCZ Chrome Pedal Connector could solve your problem with mono input alignment. Though l would never use those type of connector in the first place, as they can cause damage to pedals. A good quality patch lead is best ♌
Dear Leo, found a solution for the alignment of the devices with a hard wiring. Take a look at i.e. "Z type" - rayzm patches. THX for your great work and reviews!! Best BX
@@LeoGibsonGtr Dear Leo, what is the overall monitoring latency of the cab x2. (not the dial thing between the two channels). Would put it after the AXE ULTRA, but should not get too much latency overall....THX. Maybe you did a measurement
What are your thoughts on the Preamp X2 vs something like the NUX Amp Academy for headphone playing at home. Both look like good options but I can't decide.
Hi, the main difference is that the Mooer has the possibility to load profiles, but does not have effects, where the Academy does not allows to load profiles, but it can run effects. So it depends from your needs!
Hi Fred, I'm fine thanks, and I hope you are fine too! Well, interesting question. I don't think it's possible, but I'm not 100% sure: if someone knows, please drop here a message!
does the Cab X2 have a power amp inside it so I can just connect a different preamp overdrive pedal in front of it, or will I need a separate power amp for this set to work? Thank you.
I'm utterly confused. Mooer also has the pre amp live... so what exactly are the diferences between them? If there's not much (except for an app), wouldn't the premp live be more viable? It's even cheaper than these 2 together 🤔
Hi Matheus, I don't have the fs07 therefore I can't tell. As regards the Radar, these two pedals provides you also with the pre amp part, therefore I suppose you are referring only to the CAB X2. I think the CAB X2 is an evolution of the Radar...it's hard to tell if it sounds better (I have not done a direct comparison), but the app, etc are a step up. Thank you!
Data l'ampia scelta di pedaliere in casa mooer faccio veramente fatica a capire il senso di far uscire questi due prodotti a quel prezzo. Secondo me per essere competitivi sul mercato dovrebbero costare la metà di quanto costano attualmente. Cmq grande Leo come sempre.
Grazie!!! Credo siano disegnati per chia ha già un rig di effetti e vuole completarli in un amplesso set up. Per me la feature principale è la possibilità di caricare profili nel preamp...credo sia una cosa carina. Grazie ancora!!!
@@LeoGibsonGtr I should have been more clear with my question. If I use a downloaded capture, it doesn't include a power amp sim. Can you add one in the edited?
Thanks Leo, I love your channel! The preamp captures you can download just say that they are preamp only. On the mooer ge 250 you can add a power amp block. Just wondering how to add the power amp to the preamp x2 as it is a big part of a real amps sound. Thanks again!@@LeoGibsonGtr
If this is good like I heard on other vids iam buying it Only thing is if this pedal gets just 95% of the True Tone then why buy an tube amp I can see a down fall maybe ? It will maybe bring them down in price Or if technology keeps this up the tube amp manufacturer be less Maybe iam right maybe iam wrong But thats just my opinion you may disagree or not and is totally fine 😁
😀 I think that modellers are impacting sells of amp industry. Maybe it's gonna be like digital photography... I mean it required some years and then the analog photography was totally out of the market or maybe the real amps are gonna stay for ever...who knows...In any-case...we are lucky ... because we can choose.
@@LeoGibsonGtr hi 👋 Well I have preamp x2 and it’s amazing 🤩 I got it 2weeks ago I been experimenting with it in lot of ways the normal way and I’ve been using it as a stomp box I can get metal zone to blues breaker governer etc…. And everything in between into the tube amp and I’ve also using just the cabs as a pre eq with amp sim shut off using different cabs into the clean section and high gain section of the tube amp It doesn’t disappoint it’s the best thing I’ve bought in a long time very versatile Love your channel like always great work 😎🤟🏻🇨🇦
Dude, I have two questions, please. Is it worth me discarding a flamma fs07 and fs06 to just use the mooer preamp x2 or will I lose sound quality? Or another option, I use the mooer preamp x2 with the flamma fs07, but the x2 with the cabinet simulation turned off of course. What is better??? Thank you in advance if you can help me, brother.
Hi, thank you for your question! Unfortunately, I don't have the fs07 or the fs06, therefore I can't tell from direct experience. They seem to have similar specs...therefore I think you are gonna end up with similar tone...but as I was saying, not owning the Flamma, I can't tell from direct experience. Obviously, if someone knows, please drop here a message.
12:00 the holes are in the right place. They are positioned offset considering the Z connector, just like most mini pedals. By the way, these connectors are terrible for pedals, there is a video about the issue: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WE7XhwHUGdk.html
The holes are in the right place for using a patch cable, so you can put them closer together. A solid interconnect should NEVER be used, whether it is straight or Z shaped. Those ruin pedals. Absolute garbage
Great but hard to figure out the contribution of the pedal to your sound considering that your using a top notch expansive Suhr guitar. If I use the pedal with a 700$ guitar, I am pretty sure that I won't get the same sound
The sound is OK but considering the amazing cheap modelers out there, I personally wouldn't buy any of these units. For those who have ancient rack gear and pre-amps that don't have cab simulation 'outputs', the cab X2 would be invaluable. Leo, I note you have the JMP-1 sitting in the background. Running the JMP-1 through the X2 might give this preamp a better sound.
Regarding the CAB X2 latency control - in the "MOOER CAB X2 Official Tutorial Demo" video at about 1 minute into the video it says "Adjust latency to get stereo-feeling sound". That's in the context of using a mono input into two different cabs on the stereo outputs - my guess is that it is adding a delay on one channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--m2Efd1doOU.html
Hi Justin, thank you for the info! Yes, I hear a slight delay when I apply it, I wonder even if the quality of the IRs is gonna decrease when using at 0...but maybe not Thank you!
