As someone who used to fly 500k miles per year, with Japan as a regularly visited country, getting more than one flight per day from LAX to any country out of the Americas is nearly impossible. Three per day is insanity! The thing to watch for the Ohtani effect is if the flights go down to one per day during the off season.

Strongly disagree with Alana’s take that fan’s shouldn’t ask the moon for Significant home run balls. If you catch it, it’s yours. You don’t owe anyone anything and that is potentially life changing money.

I think the Shohei signing and hype is being overlooked in terms of Mookie Betts' scorching start. The man has been one of the top 5 players in the game the last several years, and has a great deal of pride. Shohei showing up, on his team, getting all the hype and attention, I'm sure Mookie was determined not to be outshone by his new teammate. I mean that in a positive sense, not in terms of resentment. Knowing Shohei would be right there in the order with him, and they'd be compared every single night, I'm sure lit a fire under him and his competitiveness.

Love the show. If I caught the ball, I would love a photo with Shohei and the ball, a signed bat or jersey and a suite for a home game. Sure I could make some money, but that ball might make it into the HOF for Shohei someday. It means more to him than me.

Dodgers have a lot of international signing money compared to the rest of the teams. If Roki Sasaki chooses to come next offseason, Dodgers not competing with anyone in terms of how much they can give him lmao.

Apparently thats not what she asked for. She wanted to keep the ball but they wouldn’t authenticate it for her. Then she asked to meet him and they told her that wasn’t possible. All they offered her was the two hats, a ball, and a bat and gave her 5 minutes to decide. Honestly expected better from this organization. Would love your guys take on this

It sounds like the security personnel that played the middle man in the negotiation for the HR ball was in the wrong. I did not like what the fan said about how they treated her. Im not going to blame Otani for that interaction. I do believe The fan deserved a much better reward.

Plenty of great players have played on a poor team at times.ARod won an MVP with Texas, when they weren't making the playoffs. I dont know when the argument was made that MVPs have to be on playoff teams. I know that is a popular sentiment, but it doesnt always have to work that way

What an L take. If I catch a ball and you want it then we can negotiate. It is my right as a paying patron to keep the ball. Yes, don't be a jerk, but if a fan wants to, then it's their right. What a privileged take for a privileged person.

As a non-Dodgers fan I speak for every other fanbase when I say we will despise you if Sasaki goes there :)
