It's called dramatisation. The producers likely tell them to act this way,and say that etc. It's a TV show and reality shows NEVER stay real. It's entertaining for sure but it's mostly faked. For example storage wars, American pickers both were busted for placing things in lockers and picker places. Everyone of these shows are fake to some extent

Back in the 70's I worked with an old man who wanted me to help him pick up all the peaches that fell off his trees after a hard early freeze. We ended up with almost two 55 gallon drums of them. A couple of weeks later he showed up at work with a small wooden keg and poured me a cup of his freshly distilled peach brandy! It was fabulous!

We watched this episode as it first aired. Richard has also appeared on Moonshiners - Master Distiller and won the hard-earned & coveted title of "Master Distiller". He's also been in other shows, working with his brother and also with Mark Ramsey & 'Digger' Manes. No they're not. It's all show. They just made really expensive regular moonshine, with a little vanilla. Fruit flavors don't transfer into the alcohol like the show is portraying. Moonshiners didn't use fruit, corn, sugar, etc...to flavor the moonshine, rather they just use them for their availability and sugar content.

@TheUnholyPosole
@TheUnholyPosole 2 года назад
@@slycarlo8747 I'm saying fruit, potatoes, etc all tastes like alcohol after it's fermented because the sugar turns into alcohol, flavors don't transcend. Flavoring from distilled alcohol is added afterwards, so you can't make banana flavored moonshine by fermenting a banana pie mix, you would just yield alcohol. To make it taste like banana, you would add the flavoring post fermentation.

Bananas foster as liquid courage sounds like a good time to me and it makes sense that the vanilla cooked out since it’s a delicate flavor that can easily be lost when cooking it too long that’s why in most recipes you’ll notice it’s the last or second to last ingredient to avoid it being exposed to too much heat

I think that the creaminess comes from the the fact that the nuts have high fat content, and the alcohol is able to break that down and bond to it to change the texture of the liquor to a more rich and oil like viscosity, when things are lightly oiled (yes Oil is fat) typically taste creamy. Butter is high in fat content, ice cream, milk, cream.

Richard easily has the best ideas of all of them. I would add a little cinnamon to really set it off

Moonshine rum is very good for cold, mix it with lemon 🍋 juice and it will take your in head cold right out. It's a healthy drink most elderly people know about it.

It seems to me that the world might have so many more masters of this craft had alcohol not been demonized. You can clearly see that these skills have been passed down through generations. Its nice to see people who have these unknown talents brought into the light.

Caramelizing the nuts adds something special to it, and I guarantee no one else is doing that when making the liquor!.. Now, also adding the Raw, Pure, Sugar Cane to it is just something special right there!! But there's FOUR (4x) Extra Steps that should have been done to make this batch a very very special one, no other like it, that no one else could have compared to!.. And that would be, 1.) Using older bananas for the flavor content. And I'm talkin bout Older BLACK banana, And NOT them new green or yellow ones! 2.) Adding a piece of pure natural Vanilla Bean to the whole batch! 3.) Toasting the nuts before cooking/caramelizing them. 4.) Adding some Brown Sugar to the bananas for that extra special flavor because it will always pair great when cooking with bananas and making Banana Nut Muffins or Bread/Banana nut Pancakes/Banana nut waffles/Or Banana nut anything, as long as it has Brown Sugar in it with the bananas ontop of the regular sugar that helps bring out all the flavors in the first place, the Brown Sugar adds to the perfect concoction to add that other missing flavor that would definitely need to be added, nk joke if you made this (Like I have at home in the backyard) you'd understand when tasting the liquor that there are flavors missing and also some steps to create better flavors by doing certain things to other flavors that make other flavors even better...
