The Nkrumah independence-day speech should serve as a case study for us. Life is all about competition and dominance, it happens in wildlife too. That’s why it’s better to leave some things unsaid. We should just keep quiet and show we are capable through results, no speech needed. Nobody will give us any chance; we have to create our own chances and opportunities. It's important for us to have that awareness. The current prez also did a loose talk while sharing a podium with the French prez. He didn’t learn from Nkrumah’s speech.

The truth needs to be said, our children deserve better, look at the comparison between the well off and those without? Also what are the incentives to keep our nurses and doctors in Ghana when they are not paid? What of IMF conditions and devaluation of our currency? We have a lot of problems and our leaders have to wake up. We going down a downward spiral. Wake up Ghana, wake up people, wake up politicians.!
Well said KSM, but I have a problem with what you are saying: 1. Are we as Ghanaians prepared to forget all the creature comforts and sacrifice for the sake of the country and our unborn children? 2. Are our leaders prepared to risk the humiliation of Dr Nkrumah, Lumumba, Gaddafi etc. Just recently the likes of Sankara just to name but a few. Most of our leaders are puppet and the puppeteer run their nations covertly. We need all of us as a nation to stand up and fight for what is right for us. We don't need the politics we have at the moment. The politics of GREED.
Well said, mate. However, our problem goes beyond the "politics of greed". Ours is an insurmountable problem fuelled by ignorance, tribal bigotry, foolishness, and zero patriotism. FACT!

Uncle, Kwame Nkrumah’s statement had a proviso, namely, “If the blackman is given a chance.” Has the blackman been given the chance? Please take not of Neo-colonialism, the Final Stage of Imperialism.” Then ask yourself, Why was Kwame Nkrumah overthrown? Why were the likes of him such as Lumimba eliminated? Again, HAS THE BLACKMAN BEEN GIVEN A CHANCE?
