The point of this video is that, u really have to appreciate BMW M engineering. This car is 20+ years old and yet it is able to run at high speed. Love the olden day BMWs!
Hada Cakraningrat this 3.6l is one of or THE BMW engine which has the longest lifetime. But you are totally right: absolutely fascinating that it can run its topspeed without any problems. I would love to have one of them...poor student :D
As an American, the craziest part about this video is not that you can do these speeds on public roads, but that people will actually get out of your way when you come behind them in the left lane.

The point is, here in Germany you are supposed to drive on the right lane. Normally you are only allowed to take the left lane for overtaking. You always have to use your indicators for a lane change. But, you also have to check your sideview and rearview mirrors before overtaking. You have to make sure, that you don't get the incomming and faster traffic into danger. lol that renault in the fast car lane and I hate it when you have a one lane road in Germany and a big truck just blocks the road and everyone is forced to drive slowly :P and btw which part of Germany was this in?

I know, I totally agree with him being a 'bad guy' and whatnot. I was somewhat suprised by your choice of words as this is a thing that happens daily so it's not really suprising for most of us.
The renault Twingo (!) ran behind a VW Sharan, both overtook a Ford C-Max at 0:34. The Sharan accelerated, but the Twingo forgot to switch back to the middle lane. But that's no reason to drive behind with only 5m distance. Who wants to pass must give 1x flasher to get the attention and has left blink to say "I want to pass you." Tailgating is coercion.
It's not unusual to have some people going at 200+kmh but cars are limited to a 250 kmh except you deliberatly delimit them. So beyond 250 is not so common...
safety distance During the driving school you will learn the formula for it: Speed in km / h divided by 2 in meters. At 50 km / h 25m at 100 km / h 50m, at 200 km / h 100 m, ... 0:50 1:20 3:00 4:15 The Idiots go tight up to 10m. € 400 penalty, 3 points in Flensburg and 3 months driving ban.
Gustav I really like your vids, but this driver should definitely look up what "safety distance" means. You could get into trouble if you keep driving like this.

I understand that it's part of the culture on both locations, but at some point, my Gov't here in the US will find a way to change this for those who wish to bear arms. I'm not too familiar with German culture, but I think due to pollution sensitivity these days, more and more of it will be restricted..higher speeds = more CO2 output. Just my thoughts..
please don´t drive like an idiot on our autobahn! respect the rules and the other drivers. Its a awesome feeling to drive fast, but do not drive so close to the other drivers... thats stupid
i know this... you only have a free left lane with a brand new merc, audi or bmw. with cars older than 10 years nobody takes you serious on the left lane and will block you like hell....
Natuerlich kennt Gustav das Rechtsfahrgebot nicht, weiss allerdings das ich gerne schnell fahre aber keinen Pseudosportwagen und BMW schon gar nicht. Nimm einen 458 und drehe deine Runden auf Monza, allerdings so auf unseren Autobahnen die Mitgahrer (auch ein Twingo) zu tyraniesieren ist einfach unverantwortlich. Gerade Du Gustav solltest Vorbild sein
