Not only does he have old family money, but he's also an archeologist and is the former reigning champion - which i can only assume grants huge checks given how much money champions give the player for beating them. Financially speaking, there's no reason that he wouldn't retire at 25 lol
It was a bit of an eye widener but then I remembered she's loaded beyond belief and has cosmetics one could only dream of to keep her looking that youthful.
I think I've said this before but it's kinda funny how there's almost no evidence that any of the main characters are 10 since they are either implied or confirmed to be at least 11. Really shows the impact of Ash since people thought if he was 10 then so was Red along with any other Pokemon protagonist.
People still think that you must be 10 to have a pokémon, that's just to participate in the league since we see younger kids/trainer's with pokemon all the time, even in the anime.
Technically ages in scarlet in violet don’t matter for grades at all. You can be in the same class as a baby and their dad. We are still around the same age as Kieran tho probs
@@GSavel I actually tought everyone was younger, with Kieran being around 12/13. Going by his age being 14, I think we may start out as 14 and turn 15 during the leap, while carmine is somewhere around 16
I mean technically Kitakami is based on Japan, Blueberry Academy is in the seas off Unova which is based off America, and so the lore of a DLC of a region based off of Spain and Portugal getting lore from the French version wouldn’t be too surprising.
She says "you look to be around 15 or so", which is never actually confirmed. Without looking too deep into it we can assume that the protag is 14-16, but TECHNICALLY it's only an assumption, so they could just be baby-faced 25 year olds 😂
Important to note that the PLA protagonist is also the DPPt protagonist. Unlike what everyone thought would be the case. Everyone thought you would start there. But no. Arceus yeeted you through space and time from modern day Sinnoh
The Alolan Captains are confirmed to be 11-19. 11 is the minimum age to start the trials (which they did) and they have to resign when they turn 20. Larry's age is unknown but Iono said he's been working as a salaryman for about 25 years. Assuming he started at 18-20 he should be in his mid 40s
Yeah, and it is implied Kiawe is 19 and about to retire due to him working part time in the Thrifty Megamart to make money so that he can study dance abroad
Considering that Masters is gonna have an event with the name referencing the middle age range with bot Larry and Kabu, I guess they both are in. Which surprises me for Kabu ngl, I thought he would have been more of a veteran at that point.
@@Mauricio0973 Hm not really, those kind of part time jobs can be done by teenagers so he could be around 15 and retire early to study abroad. He's definitely the oldest of the Captains tho
A few weeks ago while we were doing a soul link i told my brother Cyrus's canon age the sheer amount of disbelief in his voice followed by the realization hes almost the same age was priceless
And also to be fair, you can strike it rich just by mining for rocks. That's literally the best way to earn Pokedollars in DPPt and you can actually do this to refurbish Steven's abandoned villa in Platinum
Actually I think I saw somewhere that RSE happens around the same time of RGB. So by all accounts, Wally should at least be a little younger than adult Red and Blue. My source is "trust me bro" so take this with a grain of salt.
I get it's a lot more work for a cameo but not updating his design for SM was kind of weird Even weirder they didn't update Red, Blue Tate and Liza for the PWT in BW2 so they look super young for their actual ages in that game
@@castform7I think it’s implied that ORAS doesn’t take place at the same time as RBY, even if RSE did (timeline shenanigans and such), and Wally uses his ORAS design in Gen 7, so I think he’s still around the same age
Cyrus being a terminally online anti-theist tracks so hard. Bro just locked into a Christian TikTok comments section, typing out essays that no one will read about the dangers of organized religion in the most hateful way possible.
USUM the character that got Cyrus of all people to question his evil plans was Rotom Dex. The dude sees all life as worthless and inherently flawed because they have emotions that make them unpredictable. He loves machines for that exact reasoning because Machines are predictable, they can be designed with a clear goal and can’t move from that goal which got him thinking “the world would be so much better if everyone were as soulless as a computer” then Rotom Dex shows up and makes him question everything because it’s a machine that’s also a living creature and it’s defending humanity.
@@aruakise9803spiky haired dudes that love machines, live in the sunniest place of the region and have some sort of depression. They aren't related but it would be cool if it turn out the two were.
Flat-Earth Atheists; Characters in fantasy worlds where gods and magic are a thing, that people see and interact with directly, on a regular basis, nonetheless acting as if or even directly claiming its just illusions and tricks. In Terry Pratchett's own words, "...going on about pure logic and how the universe was ruled by logic... [edited for brevity]; the gods had a habit of going round to atheists' houses and smashing their windows."
Assuming every protagonist is 10 years old is a leftover from the Anime. Ash being 10 had a lasting impact on everyone who played the games after that. But in reality, of course, the MCs of the pokemon based around school would be around freshman age. Of course, the trainers in the big city hanging out in cafes would be older teens. The Black and White protagonists being anything under 16 would be weird. Red and Blue also barely change when they grow up so its safe to assume they aren't 10 either
@@famous.ahstalo8257 yeah for just the anime, the female companions’ ages get lowered down to 10. Or well at least in serena’s case. although maybe ash is 11 in the XY anime and later.
When i saw the second of the elite four trainers in Pokemon scarlet i had a whole rant on how a god damn baby was in the elite four and my sister looked at me like i was mentally unstable
I had that moment too. I was like a nine-year-old is elite member and you said I couldn’t get my license Pokémon license till were your 10. I’m sorry to think that in the game universe that whole gets 10-year-old to get your license isn’t really a thing it’s like one of those like it’s not required but it’s preferred.
@madisonyomans9004 there are always exceptions to the rules. Like the rich can basically ignore them if they know the right people and have the right connections... or just throw enough money at them to keep quiet. Due their family-esque dynamic, from the start, poppy has given off the impression that her team doesn't actually belong to her, but to rika, and as effectively the big sister, is letting her borrow them with the explicit rule to her pokemon that they listen to poppy during matches. She's basically a rich toddler allowed to be at the top with a rental team that doesn't belong to her.
As someone that’s 25, I wish I was Steven. Get to hyperfixate over my interest for the rest of my days. I want my position back? Time to fight Wallace lol 😂
You forgot the last and most important category of age. Really really hot young adults. This is composed of professors after gen five, most gym leaders, most Champions and Lusamine (yes I know she's over 40 but she coulda fooled me and actually did fool Hau).
I feel like Sada and Turo were also around 40, and Jacq probably is too. Figuring Kukui's age is weird because however old he is, Guzma is the same age and that's a real mind shock.
@@OddHornedNinja Kukui seems like he's ever so slightly going grey and that throws things off, but then I got a grey streak when I was 22 so who knows.
I think Kukui and Guzma are both in their 30s but Guzma just has worse genes. We know his parents and his mother uses the old woman NPC model while his father looks a little younger, so that checks out with him being in his 30s imo.
If Calem and Serena are 17 that makes me even more excited that my first gen is getting a "spin off" funny enough announced a couple weeks after i turned 17. Even better it'll probably come out the year i graduate :)
This is no shade on Steven, but he's the heir to Devon Corp and most likely a trust fund kid. If I were him I would absolutely hang up my title as Champion if it meant pursuing something that makes me happy
I wonder what the compensation is for champion or elite 4 positions. Like yeah you don't get paid in game, but it's got to be something. Do they get healthcare? Retirement funds?
I was really surprised when I played Pokémon Moon and they asserted my character was 11. I thought she was like... 15, but scaled down slightly for style reasons like they did with the evidently older XY protagonists, lol.
Cyrus would not be browsing R/atheism, he is a cult leader; every evil team has some cult like features, but team Galactic it’s just a straight up cult.
I still find it funny in the one generation where the Protags were 17-18, they decides to use that character as a love interest for a 10 year old... So they had to quickly go "Uhh... UHH, Yeah She's Just 11 In The Anime... Yup. 😅"
While i can believe that the character you play as in Scarlet/Violet are probably 14, the game stated that the school they go to, you can attend at any age, including those well into their adult years.
Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire confirmed a bunch of character ages for Hoenn (According to the Mauville TV Studio) Wally: 10 Professor Birch: 35 Professor Cozmo: 40 Mr. Stone: 52 Captain Stern: 57 Mr. Briney: 72
Actually its stated that everyone can attend classes in the orange/grape academy thats why we have older students/adults and even veterans attending classes.
The only canon ages I remember are of the protagonist from each game, they tended to get older with each release… until sun and moon 🫥 came and ruined the streak.
I think it’s the inexplicably natural grey hair that causes most of the confusion. Reminds me of how Miles and Franziska from Ace Attorney have grey hair even though they’re like 23 and 19.
@longbeing While I do agree regarding Edgeworth's gray hair (which is made more confusing by the anime, who makes his hair look almost DARK BROWN for some reason), Franziska's hair looked more light blue rather than gray.
I remember Emma. In fact, she is one of my favorite Gen 6 characters. I don't think Calem and Serena are older than her, though. She's probably known Mimi for years, so Mimi is used to her, but she is afraid of other "grown-ups."
Also in pla we are told the protagonists are about 15 also the sm special demo has an npc that states that one has to be 11 to do the island trials Also with the player being 14 in sv that brings into question how much older is carmine as it seems like she has a crush on the player
I knew a guy who could not be convinced otherwise about Bede from SwSh being 10 years old. there's no way in hell that androgynous Gilf is any less than the 17-70 range.
I have played through the x and y postgame 3 times by now, and I completely forgot Emma existed. It was a wholesome story, don't get me wrong, but goddamn it was dragged out for ages.
@@princessdawn3389 I respectfully disagree. First of all, Mimi is not her longtime friend, but some random Espurr she picks up during the story. And more importantly, her being completely aware of what she did as Essentia and still doing it just to find acceptance just makes her look stupid. I know it was done to help X's character growth, but that just highlights how they made Emma look stupid just to serve a main character's story.
@@wikiuser92 I won't argue against that beyond her being a child groomed by adults, but I moreso meant her being the antagonist Essentia was pretty cool Destroying the tower of mastery and wielding zygarde, that was badass to me
@@princessdawn3389 She didn't destroy it. It was a self destruction mechanism. And I find it really contrived that she could catch Zygarde easily just because it "let its guard down".
Very true Its just my only dislike in the French translation (just my personal opinion btw you can like whatever you like!) are the names sometimes they just feels so off??
I mean, I definitely consider the player characters in Scarlet and Violet as teenagers since they have their own dorm room at the academy, which makes no sense if they're adolescents. This is further proven in Indigo Disk, where none of the students at Blueberry Academy are children. Same goes for Sword and Shield, where none of the participants in the Gym Challenge have character models for adolescents.
And I need to remind myself that Volo and Cynthia do NOT have confirmed ages. I keep thinking that Volo is 22 and Cynthia is 25. Dunno why. It just sounds fitting.
Since the girl at the end of XY is 16 and refers to you as an adult, I always assumed that meant your character is about 20, I feel like 17 is not a sufficient age differential for a 16 years old to call you an adult.
And gets a sequel where time has passed 👉😎👉 He does give off early 20s energy in the first game for sure, but like a touch of homeschooled (not his fault-) the anime went a step above with his voice 😂
Refresh me, but is it thanks to the anime people have mistakely assumed the protagonist in most games are 10, because it has bugged me how people can look at the artwork in the guide book thinking "yeah they look 10" while artwork looks more they are around 13-14
Minor correction: The Alolan protagonists are somewhere between 11 and 14. 11 is the minimum age to take the Island Challenges, and they're stated to be somewhere under 14.
