The BQi-C3 Pro is the first e-bike that NIU has created. In the past, NIU has stuck to sit-down and stand-up scooters, but never ventured into the electric bike space. With their brand gaining popularity, they decided why not give e-bikes a shot.
The BQi-C3 Pro features a Gates Carbon Drive system which is typically found on bikes two to three times the cost of the BQi-C3 Pro. Gates carbon drives are virtually silent and require less maintenance than chain-driven ebikes.
If you are looking for an ebike with tons of range and low maintenance, you'll want to have the BQi-C3 Pro on your radar.
In this review, we unbox, set up, and tell you what we hate and love about the NIU BQi-C3 ebike.

Where I live there are almost no hills so the lack of gearing is a minor problem, not a deal breaker at all.

It was nice meeting you guys this week at the park. My wife and I were riding the muddy fat tire bikes. Speaking of belt driven bikes, I just ordered the Ride1UP Roadster V2 gravel edition. Keep up the great content, 👍

Not enough battery in my opinion. Twice the batteries but only like 20-30 percent more capacity then other bikes. Sounds like more chances for something to go wrong without a ton of extra benefit

Honestly this is one of the more overpriced ebikes I've seen.

Thank you for your comment, user feedback is very important to us. We've been able to get up to 90 miles range *Tested with a full charge carrying a 165lb rider on a flat road without wind, at an average speed of 9mph or 15km/h.

Thats freakin AWESOME! The two things my viewers seem to care about are usually "How Fast" and "How Far". With those two batteries, you gotta be getting some good range! Would love to review #NIUBQi-C3 Pro bike one day.

I like it, but if doing 2 batteries they should sell upgrades for larger batteries to say be able to buy it and upgrade to 1 kwh batteries for 2 kwh total. Also a back rack is nice but why no front rack mount to buy an accessory so then a nice long range low maintenance commuter.

A lot of belt drive ebikes have internal hub gearing, but this one can't because it has a hub motor

Would want a mid drive. Might be good to have internal gear shift.

With batteries on both sides, it makes it very awkward to add accessories like a water bottle and folding bike lock. You use velco straps, but even with this clunky setup, u still have to remove them each time you need to re-charge the batteries.

Really like it, but missing suspension fork and only a step through design are breakers. It must be hard to make a less expensive version of the Riese & Mueller multi charger…

There's a million bikes that do what you're talking about. Not everyone wants a cheap, junky front suspension that barely does anything and breaks after a year. This is a low maintenance indestructible bike meant for daily use.

Makes me wonder if companies check the competition before pricing. Mechanical brakes, 500 watt motor, 750 peak(my $1200 lectric maxes at 1000watts). 48v (at the $2000 price range we should be at 52v and 750 watts nominal. Think its the first ebike at the $2000 price range i have heard of that is only 500 watts. Ariel rider Kepler , magicycle ocelot pro. Etc , etc . Oh wow. Just read the 48v 20ah is the total capacity combined , on the site. 45nm torque. What the?!?!

That is a great bike at the price. Belts drive is what I want for sure, this bike is to street specific for me though. I wouldn't like the one gear either. I will point this out to my brother though.

I like this bike, in some ways it is similar to my rad runner. I do think though that for the price it should have hydraulics, I can tell you from experience that cable disks, while cheap to run, are a real pain in the arse, regular adjustment to keep them working well.

I really dont understand the love for gates belt drives. I have one on my ebike and i absolutely hate it. It makes replacing a rear tire an even bigger pain. It's too easy to stretch the belt and replacement parts are expensive, require specialized tools and are monopolized by one company. Also your local bike shop may not be able to help you if they dont stock gates parts. Performance-wise you have only one gear ratio so it limits your ability to efficiently contribute power to the drivetrain and therefore reduces the maximum range and speed of your bike. The only benefits i see to belt drive are its negligibly quieter, and doesnt require maintainence... but chain maintenance is SO easy and infrequent it's not a selling point for me at all when you consider all the other downsides. Furthermore... want to upgrade to a mid-drive? Me too! have fun rebuilding your rear wheel to remove the hub motor, and source a normal hub that will work with your fatbike's O.L.D. and fat rim that are almost exclusively made in china. It's cost me $150 for the hub and around $300 for the rim rebuild, gears, chains, derailleur, shifter, and spokes.

Makes no sense to offer dual batteries that collectively are the size of my one battery
@Steve-fm8zz
@Steve-fm8zz Год назад
@@rncondie There is a logic behind that! They wanted to incorporate the batteries into the frame while keeping the step-thru design. There's not a whole lot of space for batteries on this step-thru unless you put them on the rack.

Thank you for your feedback. Frame and fork suspensions are for off-road control, not on-road comfort. They increase the overall weight of the bike, which is why they are not suitable for a commuter bike.

I'm very happy that it has no suspension. More durable and lighter! It's almost a perfect bike, I just wish it had mounts on the frame for a front rack (the type that doesn't turn with the handlebars)@@niumobility
