I have the predecessor to the Centauri, the Proxima, and I love it. Several hundred miles in and it rides like the day I got it. Simply fabulous quality and ride. Highly recommend vvolt!

A belt drive folder seems ideal to me a well. However, I don't have the 7k to spend on one. I wish I could fold up my Proxima and take it on trips with me. Rental ebikes never measure up.
I know it's been a few months since this review but was wondering about your thoughts comparing this to the Prodigy V2? This is potentially several hundred dollars cheaper with essentially the same primary specs.
I have an Ebike with a Enviolo CVT and do not enjoy riding it. Prefer regular IGH with gears like the Shimano 8 speed Nexus. Have ridden those a lot in Europe and you know what gear you are in. I used gear 1-3 for uphill, gear 4-6 for level ground and 7-8 for downhill on a week long bike trip that I took in Europe.
@@EbikeEscape yes I saw that one.. Just lacking on dozens of E Bikes that are commuter labeled. Who doesn't want dual suspension on their bike for commuting? I guess weight and money are in mind for some people.
Maintenance is a big one for us- we strive for very low maintenance requirements on our models. Most suspension forks and posts are designed to be pulled apart and maintained every 100 hours of riding. For some this means greasing, others need an oil change. Seals can fail, damper oil will wear out and eventually bushings develop play. What's worse lots of affordable forks are effectively non-rebuildable so the whole fork is basically a wear part. We understand riders want suspension but it's a challenge to provide a sustainable, quality part on a mid-priced ebike and we continue to hunt for quality parts so we can provide this feature without undue sacrifice of durability or weight. The good news in the meantime is that tires provide effective suspension for lots of urban riders, the trick is to find a good pressure that will allow the tire to absorb bumps and road chatter. We offer a tire upgrade option to a higher-volume, more puncture-resistant Schwalbe model for riders with challenging road conditions.

I agree the Xplova app leaves a lot to be desired which is why I decided to not even discuss it in the review as a viable feature. Speedometer by Cool Niks is what I use.
I'm currently debating between the Centauri and the Sirius, would you mind commenting on whether you notice a difference in the speed/hill climbing between the two? I was hoping for a mixed use bike but these reviews make the Sirius look like it doesn't quite get as fast or climb as well, but his review of the Sirius was in the cold. Thanks!

That is a lot of money for a bike with low budget items talk about cheap out bike the only good thing is the drive train prolly cost you less to buy your own kit with the same drive train and put on your own bike
After doing months of research, I landed on VVolt because they offered so much more value for my dollar. I love my Proxima soooo very much. When I'm not riding it, I dream about riding it.
As you like, but a throttle on a bike like this isn't necessary for scooting across intersections. I've been on bikes that are tricky in that situation where I agree a throttle would come in handy, but a mid drive, torque sensing IGH bike is designed to be pedaled at all times.
Enviolo hub in lowest range and motor assist with warp core controller in highest has never failed to get this 68 year young senior quickly through any intersection. I do use a throttle on my other bike.....a Harley FLSTSCI 28:38
Lots of nice features (e.g. belt drive, Enviolo gears, light weight) but oh, such thin tires and no hydraulic suspension makes for rougher riding in bumpy streets. Also the LCD control module is too small. Why?
Wow totally uncompetitive. Brakes too small, unknown brand components. Need to upgrade so much beyond the $3k base. What a disappointment. Frankly a total joke
