I find it very hard to do the work when it’s hot (that’s why I committed to that 7 days of work series - just to make me do it!!) Thanks Cathi - have fun in your garden xx
I’d love the coriander to start self seeding - haven’t had success with that one as yet! The mustard has spread in some area already - so winning there.
Those little bird mesh and shade cloth hoop covers , look like a fantastic tool for seeds and seedlings. Im going to have to make some. Your soil looks great . Ive been rethinking my compost, chicken system and about to change it up . Thank you for sharing lovely ❤❤
The little hoops work well - I have some just with the really fine mesh with no shade cloth on them which are useful too! Gotta luv changing things up - good luck with that!
Weeds, not fun, soil looks okay but compost is always welcome. I hope the new plants survive. Hope you get the new compost pile hot to kill all the seeds.😊
Yep the soils not there yet, but on its way I think!! I’ll soon work out if the compost wasn’t hot enough - a thousand volunteer carrots and parsnip will be the result - mmm I suppose that’s not too bad haha!
I’ve done it at this time of year before and it’s worked well. My property is east facing and I think it creates a cooler microclimate. The brassicas I’ve planted at this time of year have done really well - just need to help them get through the white butterfly season! Thanks for watching Bruce!
@@huttonsvalleypermaculture all good. I use what water I can collect in my tanks, when it runs out, it has to be a pretty desperate situation to pay for water. I really am a water miser. Lol
@@huttonsvalleypermaculture I see your in south Gippsland, I am in the Mornington penisula. Interesting, your ecosystem probably is very similar to mine
Another great video, thank you Linda! I really enjoyed your soil one too, I often find myself thinking about your garden/info and ideas when I'm working in my garden. We are always learning, so good! xx
Oh thanks Johanna! Sometimes I start out making a video and it takes an unexpected turn - ends up I’m learning something from my videos as well haha!! Observe the garden closely and you learn heaps! Thanks for your comments 😊
I will be getting some of the caterpillar spray. I ripped some bean plants out as they were covered with looper caterpillars which I had never had before. Which was a pity as I was given the beans (little round ones) and was looking forward to trying them out. I spent time today planting brassicas and wiping eggs off sigh. And yes I am sorting covers out for the gardens. Take care =-)
