Thanks for the back ground of your quest for the “ perfect” location for your cabin, always helpful to understand the reason people chooseAlaska..see you both next week😘
Alaska seemed "unreachable" until we watched some great content from RU-vidrs and spent some winter time here. That was an unmentioned part of adding Alaska to the list.
Hello! Our Alaska mentioned your channel on their latest video, so I came to check you out. The sound is kind of low on my end. I subscribed and am looking forward to watching your videos. Good luck and best wishes always.
I try to keep it low and relaxing. If it's so low that it's unbearable in upcoming videos please comment again and let me know. Thank you for watching.
Thx for sharing all of your previous travels via your wonderful photos! What a store of special memories!!! Will follow your progress on your Alaska land! Keep up documenting. Blessings. Susan
Hey Susan. Can't wait to do another cross-country trip in our Jeep and tents. Hopefully a few months in the summer in a few years. Thank you for checking us out.
Just found your channel. Congratulations on moving to Alaska. Just an fyi, we are having a RU-vid meetup on July 13th in Wasilla. I'll send you the information about it.
My wife and I basically started down the same path as yall are back in 2014. Except we're in north alabama. We've been in our small home for 5 years (we're retired), It's totally worth it, Best of luck!!
We do both carry. But while we are working we keep them off to the side usually. I think if you look close you'll see the 10mm on Eleinne in a few clips. She's a better shot than me. We also have bear spray with us anytime we are out.
Mostly we worked on burning through savings :) But we do have a few online businesses we run that make money. We are continuing to try and grow them. They are all small but add up to a livable income and hopefully grow more. While traveling I was mostly doing consulting work for online sports betting companies which is a fast-growing industry now that so many states have legalized it. Since moving to Alaska we started doing graphic design, drone photography, and real estate photography. We may actually go back to working this fall if business doesn't grow enough, but trying to get through the summer without having to as we are building the cabin.
Hi there from Aberdeen Scotland. I found your channel via Our Alaska. I have watched all the videos you have posted and I am really looking forward to following your journey.
Thank you. We can't wait to visit Scotland. Wish I would have done it before I quit drinking. We both love Scotch Whisky but decided last year it was best to eliminate alcohol from our diet.
Always on the lookout for new Alaska channels. There are quite a few but most of the "characters" are not likable. I like to see building and progress. The greasy haired couple just go shopping all the time. That's not Alaskan, you can do that anywhere. I like Remote Living because they started from the ground up like Our Alaska and thats just what you are doing. Even Simple Living is a bit boring. I mean who couldn't do everything when you've got all the equipment. I guess I like to watch the struggle. You two may be a bit too city for Alaska. Camping is a lot different than trying to survive and get under roof before winter, we'll see. I'm rooting for you.
I grew up in small mid-west towns working on farms, not a fan of being called "city" but in all fairness, I did live in one for 13 years so I guess I deserve it. Thanks for watching, it will be a fun try and we're happy to have you along for the journey.
We dabble in a couple of things. We do real estate photography, drone services, graphic design for online clients, and consulting for a company I (Jay) used to work for in Vegas. None of them pay enough, but together they afford us this cheap lifestyle and don't require us to go to a job. We have a few other online incomes we are working on getting going as well. So really just a bunch of small incomes that don't take a lot of our time up.
Thank you and hello there, we are so happy to join the Nikiski area. And now we know what Hopple Popple is ;) The lake in one of your videos looks just like the one we are on...... but I suppose a lot of the lakes around here look the same.
@@AlaskanFreedom they do look the same lol. Ours is only 8 ft deep and not real big around so we tend to call it a pond haha. There are a lot of little ponds and lakes around. Wish it had fish, that would be so cool! 😁
Happy birthday! The snow is going fast now...yay!!! No idea why I did not see this until today but I am building a sawbuck myself now and felling trees this weekend as well hahahaha. Happy spring guys!
Thank you!! Our place is so well-shaded, the snow I need to be gone isn't melting fast enough. But it's getting there. Your ribs looked amazing!! Making me hungry.
