Since the inhibitiors target under communications, set a search light to target that, and manually destroy it with an assault cannon or a grinder. Should save a bundle of ammo. Also, the inhibitor wasn't drawing your power. It was trying to cause you injuries, and the the suit upgrade exchanged power for health.

You should get the solar suit, to combat the power drain from the inhibitors effects
