Great review Randy, had my xl5 composite few years,use other autos as well,Fabarm are a great shotgun for the money,inside is pure quality polished mechanism and easy to clean,also probably one of the softest recoiling shotguns I own. I would like this in a 24 as mine is 28.
I would think the green fiber optic at the back of the receiver is for low light hunting over in Europe and other places dont have shooting hours like we do and hunt at night i could see that helping with that knowing were the back of the receiver is in relation with the bead
I am between this and the L4S. I know you previously liked the L4S, but I am curious where you sit after shooting the new composite XLR5. I pulled up the L4S Grey Hunter and an XLR5 Waterfowler, and both feel very nice. I like the rubbery grip on the XLR5, but I felt the L4S felt more balanced throughout the length of the whole gun. The XLR5 felt like the weight was very close to the receiver. This isn't bad, just different. Any insight would be great! I would either for mostly upland birds and clays from time to time. Thanks!!!
@@RandyWakeman Well, seems I can't paste a picture of my Fabarm XLR with the Weaver scope rings attached directly to the receiver cut outs. I have the low scope rings, which allow a nice low scope mount with a 1.5x4 x 1" scope.On the Fabarm web site the receiver is described as " Frame ERGAL 55 - Weaver grooves." My point was that there are options to the Fabarm rail. Weaver style scope rings will fit directly on the receiver cut outs.
Thank you for sharing this with us. Due to COVID presently import is stop, however dealer told me that he will import full line of fam arms shotguns encloding over under shotgun. For upland hunting what is your suggestion in the line of fab arm shotgun especially Sami auto shotgun.

Hi! have you tried shoting slugs with the xlr? i use the cylinder shoke only, is it safe to use the other shokes with slugs? how would you say you aim at 50-100yards? having some trouble getting comfortable with my xlr5 when shooting slugs/breneke.
@@RandyWakeman Fab arms has informed me they do make the XLR 5 in left handed configuration and will take 6 months or longer due to covid to import any suggestions on a right handed gun that might be able to hold me over this duck season
