@@klj2382 Just from this short clip you can tell that he's a race baiter and doesn't want Freeman's race solution to sound good to the audience, so he tries to derail the argument by saying he's Jewish, as opposed to white which he is. Luckily that backfired on him and gave Freeman another avenue of argument: "Okay, what month is Jewish history month?" "Th-there isn't one." "OH! Oh. Why not? Do you want one?" Sums up how meaningless, even detrimental, black history month really is to black people.
@@kousvetkousvet4158 he is not saying that American history is black history but the opposite. Saying that black history is American history don't imply that all American history is black history but that black history is completely American or part of it (the part that happened in America, of course).
It’s a terrible shame that this type of common sense has gone out the window in our modern day. When I was a kid growing up in the American Northeast, my mates and I were all different colors from all different places. The only time we would ever reference these differences was to make fun of them. It was literally a joke to us.
@@aurin_komak It's more like humans wouldn't exist without strife because our very history is full of it and it's what brought us to where we are today.
Let's throw water on houses that aren't burning. I demand parking spaces for dead people. We need to start giving free writing lessons to blind people.
That’s a terrible point. Black History Month was made to recognize the generations of AAs & their accomplishments that they attained while struggling with adversity. Morgan is one of those ppl that likes to live in a fantasy world where everyone has been set up equally and in reality that’s not the case. It’s funny bc the main people agreeing with his point are the ones that don’t have to worry ab their history being watered down or completely skipped over.
@@skywalker6648it certainly didn't work for you brother. Change starts on one person, yourself. As Michael Jackson said in one of his songs, "If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make that change."
The problem is having “identity” come before “ability”. People need to stop giving a shit about what someone is, gender, race, whatever - and start looking at what each individual is able to do. Unfortunately we won’t get there until people stop looking at identity first and foremost.

They aren’t identifiable as jews for the most part. Just like you are rarely able to spot a gay man from the first glance. If you live in the wrong area in Germany and it’s well known you are jewish, I’d consider moving very quickly
i like how this plays out like a comedy skit. all the camera cuts, the short moments of silence, the uncomfortable way the interviewer tries to find an answer, morgan freemans interruptions. i love it.
Reminds me when in the news they put shit like "white dude ... to black dude" and I'm always like "why don't just address them as persons, it's like if I said a redhaired cop killed a blonde man, it doesn't even matteer"
literally everything he says is absolute facts. yet still, for years and years, and still in 2024, companies (like google, for example) keep trying to market off it, and advertise this month event.
It's so simple, yet politics, power, contention, and control cloud the real moral high-ground. Freeman's IQ and MQ (Morality Quotient) gotta be 200+. These simple facts can apply to basically any physical or spiritual differences between us humans. Sad to see certain people across the world cause more harm than good all just for power and control.
Justin Fitzpatrick Lad is right though. There haven’t ever been an interviewer asking questions aligned with their own beliefs. He had to ask that because that was the subject going into the interview.
Because Morgan's opposition actually cared about hearing him. If it were someone else who constantly interrupted Morgan (or anyone else for that matter), he wouldn't be able to do it within one minute.

Why they didn't take a good hard look at Squirrels, rabbits or cats or dogs and realize they all do basically the same thing, just slightly differently depending on their environment and that we were probably just like that.
That’s 100% the case for those of us who grew up with different races. nobody is born racist and I hate how we get told constantly white people are racist by the media if kids were allowed to grow up together not being influenced by adults racism would cease to exist

@@Unlyricallyrics That is just so stupid, word and language exist to express and talk about ideas, if you ban the word you just have the ideas and no way to express them. Racism and any kind of hate is very deep in our personality, changing that for the whole world is just imposible so just change it for you.
Aren’t you not suppose to do that today though?? Like won’t you get hated on if you don’t see color because you’re not acknowledging other people’s problems?
Deadly beats Stop talking about racism to combat racism is the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. Racists won’t care about politically correctness. They won’t care if you say “I’m not a black man.” Simply saying we should get over race is sooo over simplified.
Because that’s what happens when you ignore a problem instead of confronting it. And while the idea of black history being American history is great, this is simply not the case when it comes to American History classes, you know where we’re supposed to learn about American history. The month is dedicated to raise awareness of the atrocities that blacks faced, the history that was almost erased: Tulsa Massacre, Wilmington Coup d’état by White Supremacist, Seneca Valley destroyed to create Central Park, all that shit you don’t learn about, as well as all the contributions that blacks made for which they hardly get credit. It’s nice to have a month to reflect on all that history and learn from it. To make it stand out. With his line of thinking, we shouldn’t observe 4th of July or Juneteenth because we’re free already.
Oh i see what's going on here, people are agreeing with him because of his confidence. Ignoring racism only let's the problem proceed. Systematic racism exists: "Oh just ignore it, it will stop existing" White supremacists: "it's free real estate!
On one level his reply is 100% true and makes sense On another level it really doesn't because there are racists and nazis and whatever out there who discriminate people and when the rest of the population stops speaking about that the issue won't go away. I wish we could stop talking about it. But until racists stop being racists, we can't

This country will never stop talking about "it", and that's the sad thing. There's too much to be gained for the people who keep stoking these kinds of divisions, so it will continue to be on the forefront, it will continue to cause people to bicker and fight, and nothing will be truly, wholly resolved on a wider scale. The only responsibility you have is to yourself and your own actions, and how you as an individual treat other people around you. So treat other people right.

I’m a nurse. I had one of the worst experience of racism in my entire life last week. This Asian Irish man living in America flat out asked for me not to take care of him. He said he liked nothing that is black. I was shocked to hear someone say that so blatantly. Usually they beat around the bush. I asked my supervisor to assign me to another patient. I felt so sad. I still do.

Problem is people want to be racist. There is no way to make these people stop. So the more people that are not racist and call out the racism it stops. It’s like the bullying in a classroom. If a bully bullies a kid in the classroom and all the kids tell them to stop, odds are they stop. If the other kids do nothing the bully continues. The power is in all our hands to stop racism .
Yep, the racism from every race out there is still a freaking thing to this day. Unbelievable smh. Now we got this lives matter vs cops nonsense. Why does everyone always have to beat on a dead horse. Shit's really getting old.
By stop talking about it he also means stop saying somebody can't get this because they're black or can't go that far because they are black. Stop saying somebody sounds black or acts black and also stop saying that well because this neighborhood looks like so-and-so blacks must live here or anything similar to that as well. Stop saying only blacks do this and you will not find blacks like that and blah blah blah. That's what stop talking about it means you stop referencing anything and everything as black or white or Jewish or whatever. Stopped talking about it means in every single instance. Because a neighborhood has a certain characteristic don't assume it's a black neighborhood it's just a neighborhood of people, and so on.

@@iwonakaplon3399 yes it does, thank you for the detailed reply! that definition of race is a more scientific way of defining it and that has its own purpose. ultimately though, the way most people see race, and the definition morgan freeman is referring to, and most likely OP as well, is simply as the color of one's skin. the notion of defining a person by their skin color is indeed a social construct, and because some people continue to see others as people of a certain race before they see them as human, racism is still an issue.
