Mori has done a lot of Christmas songs, if you want a song Mariah Carey sounding then do oh holy night at the Solaire Christmas lighting. If you want a more Christian vibe then she sang the same song at favor church which is more recent. Can’t wait to see what you all think.

She has the very best rendition ever of O HOLY NIGHT that she performed for her FAVOR CHURCH Christmas Eve concert 2020, her and her husband DAVE LAMAR are devout Christians who have many performances around Christmas and Easter time, she did an original Christmas song called THIS IS CHRISTMAS with a British singer by the name of BEN ADAMS, a song he originally gave to a Dutch artist but took it back after coming across MORISSETTE on RU-vid, they decided to perform it as a duet, it's really uplifting, like a lot of people Ben thinks she's the greatest FEMALE ARTIST on the PLANET and I'm one of them 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

Morissette is my favorite singer of all time, but I don't care for every single one of her performances either. I think the other video just caught some of her fans off guard because that performance is usually so well-regarded (she performed with David Foster earlier this year and he even asked her to sing it for his concert series). Morissette can slay any genre thrown at her. Watch her newest performance of a rock song entitled "Ang Huling El Bimbo" at Fusion 2023 before a live audience. Although it is in Filipino you will surely appreciate it. But before you delve into it, I recommend that you watch first her renditions of Akin Ka na Lang, Secret Love Song, Shine, and Gusto Ko nang Bumitaw. You will be doubly amazed. All on the Wish Bus.
Please pardon the multiple comments...but I wrote a blurb about her in case you're interested in learning more about her 😊 Morissette is 27 years old now, and I believe she was 20 in this video. Her father was a rock singer and her original musical influence. Her first name is actually Johanne and her middle name is Morissette, having been named after Johann Sebastian Bach and Alanis Morissette (clearly a music-loving family!). One of the signatures of her voice is her use of grit/distortion/intentional vocal breaks, and I think this is her father's influence showing 🙂 She also had a bit of musical theatre training when she was on the Philippines' version of Camp Rock, and even though her main genre is pop, she does gorgeous renditions of music from other genres (including musical theatre) while staying true to her signature sound. She is incredibly resilient. When she was 11, she had surgery for a throat tumor and was terrified she may never sing again. Thankfully, that didn't happen! She did a number of singing competitions while growing up, including The Voice Philippines, but kept falling short of the very top. (As a longtime musician who lives in the US and isn't Filipino but has followed Filipino music for 30+ years, in my opinion this is because her voice and singing style are different than what is typically popular there. Lots of fans are obsessed with belting with as much power as possible or singing the highest notes possible, for instance, and that's all they care about). She will readily admit this became so discouraging that she almost decided to throw in the towel and give up on her dream. But her stint on The Voice opened doors with people who couldn't deny her talent, and she signed a record and TV deal with the largest network. Ironically, she became a member of a four-person group called the Birit ("belting") Queens on that network's weekly singing show. She can belt with the best of them, but her style leans more toward elegance than sheer, unadulterated power (though she is plenty capable of both). In fact, when her initial contract ended about three years ago and she became an independent artist, she made a deliberate shift away from the "birit" style of singing. She also deliberately shifted away from using her whistle register so much, even though it's an ability she's always naturally had, largely because she didn't want to be pigeonholed as "that singer who can do whistle tones." Unfortunately, the pandemic got in the way of those plans and then she decided to get married and stay in the Philippines...que sera sera.
