On the transgender piece, I'd like to comment the following: Isn't it sad that we make some people feel so unwelcome, so unimportant, that they contemplate suicide? As society we have to ask ourselves this: Where has our normal affection and appreciation for a fellow human gone? Why would we think it's okay to be so hateful? This isn't normal! Transgender people aren't asking us to stop being straight. Why do we think we have a right to ask them to be something that they are not?
