Ennio Morricone is one of the greatest composers of all time! He also happens to be conducting this… when the composer conducts his own music something special happens ❤
If I had to choose only one artist to listen to, that would be Ennio Morricone. I'm glad you reacted to Ennio himself. Most people react only to Danish National Orchestra's versions, which is also amazing(totally worth it). The Mission is the soundtrack for the movie The Mission(1986). Gabriel's Oboe is named after a Jesuit Father from the movie. Ennio was a brilliant composer, a genius. His scores are out of this world. Matches every movie. If you keep listening to him, you'll notice that. Ennio was a classmate of Sergio Leone. They worked together in some movies, specially western (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, etc) and also mafia (Once Upon a Time in America). Ennio is also Quentin Tarantino favorite composer. I would suggest everyone to listen and react to all of his work. But to narrow it down to one song I love so much "Cinema Paradiso" theme. Well... thanks for this reaction. I avoid commenting, but I like to praise this genius work.
IMHO, one of the greatest pieces of music for film ever written. Morricone was perhaps the most respected film composer of our time. I've met a few A list composers, they ALL want to have his chops.
One of the most beautiful soundtracks ever written, the work of an absolute genius like Ennio Morricone. Nominated for an Oscar, it was robbed of a non-original soundtrack, an absolute shame!
Our children and our grandchildren will study Ennio Morricone at school as Mozart, Strauss or Beethoven study today. Morricone has received 5 Oscar nominations, and 2 won, as well as dozens of other awards and accolades. W Italy.
“The Mission” is a movie covering the politics of Spain, Portugal, the Catholic Church and a Jesuit Mission that wound up on the wrong side of a boundary dispute that now threatened to enslave its congregation and the futile resistance of this mission to resist. A great movie.
The top one maestro of Italy , and Nino Rota ( The Godfather trilogy ) of course ! The Mission is one of his masterpieces . RIP Maestro . Thank for your musical treasure.
Gabriel is one of the main characters in the movie The Mission. In the movie, he plays an oboe when he is confronted by native South Americans, hence the name Gabriel's oboe, he wins over the tribe with his music.
Just the fucking best. What a time we live in. He takes the entirety of the soundtrack to The Mission, and plays 8 or 9 pieces in these 10 minutes. At the end it's 6 parts at once
For me this song represents the celebration of life. From when you are born to the destiny that awaits us all. Then at the sound of the drums it is as if the doors of paradise had opened to welcome us, hence a sense of peace and tranquility. Ciao from italy 🇮🇹
I have only 2 movie soundtrack albums: "The Year of Living Dangerously" and "The Mission". Ennio Morricone's soundtrack for the film "The Mission" communicated, with all its complexity, the process of colonization that took place in Argentina, Brazil and other South American countries during the 1700s. Caught between European political & religious conflicts, the Indigenous population didn't have a chance. Here is the movie trailer (1986): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HU14R9hbUFc.html
@@smittycal No problem - the film still holds up after all these years, not to mention the soundtrack! (However, I know there were some issues with the way "The Mission" producers compensated the Indigenous people who acted in the film.)
The Mission is a movie, starring Robert De Niro. The mission is a religious mission inside a South American jungle. Remember something to wipe your eyes with, when watching this movie.
I have a new genre for you. It is barbershop and don’t say no till you’ve heard this one.. check out an international championship quartet called ringmasters, and their version of you’ll never walk alone/climb every Mountain. It is very very very good and I think you will like it!!!!!
