Blessings Chef, I’m in the middle of the Bay of Fundy fighting with lobsters, this video really brought me back to my childhood days in Jamaica. You’re truly an inspiration🙏🏿
I made these coconut rock cake aka coconut drops & the first time in years ...after numerous failures....I could confidently say I definitely trying it again. Thanks chef Morris 😊
If real Morris it is nice with cheese or by itself ,i remember when I was back home on Sunday s there was a little shop near church were the always have freshly bake items and rock cake was one and it was delicious love the channel ,you son made me smile when he said the finish saying 🇯🇲
My step father got me hooked on these. I wish he was in the U.S. I would him some for Father's Day. I'm going to make this weekend. Their so good I haven't these in years. Good memories.
Thanks for the recipe Adrian. I made some today and they were so good and easy to make. Could taste the fresh picked lime rind which gave it a different taste. The best rock bun recipe I have used.
Nice with the triangle of Tastee cheese! I learnt to make these in Home Ec. class and it was the only thing my mother would allow me to make in her kitchen😂😂😂.
@@heysimmone they are different from scones. We call them rock cakes rather than rock buns. Ingredients are flour, butter, sugar, dried fruit, egg & milk.
I used to make this in high school. When I became a mom It was normally a tradition to make it for my my little one. The babysitter, was feasting on it instead of giving my child the bun and tell me how good the rock bun is! Imagine! 😂 😝
No sah! Mi need fi mek dis! Haven't made these since high school and I have everything except for the mixed peel. Mi seh yu jus fling mi right back inna memory lane an mi a mek dem yah as mi wake tomorrow 😋 Edited to add: I made these and everyone loved them. Mine took 4 tbsp of milk and I only added currants and some flavoring but they were delicious
Pretty sure it's the same as Drops. Different countries different names. I haven't tasted this in years so I'm going to try. Eat it with cheese. 😋 Thanks Chef.
@@triciatoughIt's crazy how the name deviates across the Caribbean. I know exactly what you're talking about; in other islands what you would call coconut drops ( without flour) is known as sugar cake. Both great recipes
Blessings on you and your family, love your videos, very easy and looks tasty....love how you take time to explain..thanks ...Nuff Love💯Greetings from Barbados.
I don’t like citrus dried fruit but that’s only me. Take no offense. I like some nutmeg and custard powder in it. I made some a few hrs ago 😋but without the egg 🥚 and I just saw your video. Not much difference. Yum yum 😋
I love this. It's my husband's favorite. I made some on Monday and had one with my coffee on Tuesday morning. Can you tell me why you added the lime zest - have never seen it done this way? Might have to try it. Thanks Morris!
