This is one of Morrissey's powerful, amazing, poetic, and best albums. No one can disagree. And the instrumentals are just... Omg. I love every song on this album
Wen this dropped i told EVERYONE better than World Peace AND Years O R bottom line imho his best since You Are The Quarry. 3 HoF albums with the Smiths PLUS 3 HoF albums solo. Viva/V and I / YATQuarry now this. Soooo he should be in HoF CRAZY great album best to drop plus best since it dropped. Peruod nothing before was better goin back to Quarry n since nothin has been as good just my opinion.
His lyrics and persona have saved countless lives. The most intelligent people in a society are the ones who are most depressed...because they SEE the corruption and evil and global machinations of greedy and wicked people who rule this world.
Get rid of the Israel related crap songs (why does he even care), add in another upbeat 4 min ditty and this could have been a contender for the title.

Lifelong Smith/Moz fan. Upon my first couple of listens I hated this album and thought it was one of his worst right up there next t o Kill Uncle. However, after repeated listens it has really grown on me and I think now that it is better than the previous World Peace album!
I actually liked Kill Uncle, but wasn't too impressed with World Peace - it was a bit too pretentious for my liking. The new album is going back to basics a lot more, and has a more meatier (sorry Moz!!) production. :)

I still think side one of this record is up there with his best. This opener is equal to any of the best tracks of your arsenal as far as punchy, glam-style stomp rock goes. Lonely, Jacky, Question Mark and 'Spent' are all vintage Moz. It's a shame the second half of the album is rather turgid dross.
I just think Morrissey isn't doing what he was doing on 'Ringleader of'... A song about Israel? It's not resonating I'm listening now instead to the aforementioned. The new record starts out nice but tanks a bit. That's my review.
