Only one man on Earth can sing a song about going to the shops for cigarettes with their Granny, and make it sound like a beautiful march into battle.

The racoon is Morrissey, look when he sings about his nan, there's two raccoons walking. He loves animals so much he portrays himself as one. Beautiful, emotional and slightly gothic song, and of course Raccoons are beautiful and slightly gothic in appearance. I wonder if the raccoons can make a video of Morrissey sometime! It reminds me of my grandfather, he was a Naval Officer and a very fair, funny and eccentric man, and we used to walk down the beach, and I miss him crazy. Only we were a cat and a bear.

The man is relentlessly magnificent - Viva Moz! And Viva Moz fans all around the world!!

Poignant. What have I done to make the river (of life) unclean? I strongly relate to this song. being a similar vintage to Morrissey, with an Irish Irish-dancing mother, and a sister who bought the Metal Guru single in 1973.

Raccoons are so lovely. Clever and resilient creatures. I love them. Good song too.

This has to grow on me but I do like the Depeche Modesque intro... Also Morrissey's Irish roots always somehow makes into the music, more towards the end of the video for sure... but I'm diggin' it!

Wonderful album. One of his best so far. This song is my highlight of "I am not a dog on a chain". Thank you so much for it! (great video! "I walked with my grandmother" - in this part the little racoon gets company of a bigger. Fantastic.)

I don't know if he meant this song for this purpose, but as someone who is struggling with an addiction and wants to turn their life around, you can't imagine how this speaks to me. Its a motivational anthem that I must play 100 times a day back to back to back. Its not for me to question the brilliance of Morrissey, to know if this is what he means but it works. If you don't know what its like to see the light at the end of a stuggle and remember what it once was like and know how people change their views of you based on your own mental health, you might feel it through the words of his song. I know I do.
