Today's video marks the return of our Morrowind Modding Manors series, bringing a new format, design and presentation to our premier player home series. On hiatus since 2021, we've expanded this series to cover 5 different player homes an episode, with each episode dedicated to a different town or city. From player homes big and small, grandiose manors to shady caverns in the ground, we'll be covering them all, town by town! Tune in next week for a look at the housing market of the sleepy little village of Pelagiad! Not even past the intro and I’m amazed! I finally figured out modding for Morrowind and I’m dumbfounded at the skill of some of these modders! These houses are brilliant! Currently I’m Enjoying Dragonstar as I figure out Enchanting, and believe me, Elder Spriggans and Minotaurs are where it’s at!😂
I definitely prefer player homes that integrate immersively with the Vanilla game. Purchasable and/or including lore or story is a must for me. Most of these mods looked really well-designed though, kudos to the mod authors!
You're in luck for next week then, nearly all of the Pelagiad residences have some sort of purchase or quest requirement. For whatever reason, newer Balmora homes from the last couple of years lack purchase options, while newer Pelagiad homes from the same time period have them in spades.
@@MorrowindModdingShowcases Looking forward to it! I wonder if it's because Hlaalo Manor and Caius' house are free that some mod authors don't think twice about putting free homes in Balmora... interesting
@@MorrowindModdingShowcasesOooh! That must have the Imerial Dragon Mod innit am I right? That what be so cool to actually successfully guess a mod for this channel's showcase!
Balmora abandoned lookout is also worth mentioning here. It is so very minimal and a good player (perhaps temporarily) for players beginning with a poor, outlaw or detested char. I remember editing the entrance location slightly, but that was probably because of BCOM edits.
I wish "player home" didn't mean "free loot", modders seem afraid to give the player a bunch of empty shelves and let them furnish their home themselves.
Ahhh man it suckcs so much that they are all free. And that's the truth with most of the home mods in Balmora! I mean I get it, people just want a home they don't wanna deal with dialogue and quest righting but still... It's really frustrating that there is no filter on Nexus mods for purchesable houses. From what I can list the Caldera Mages Guild house is quite good and requires you to be a high-ranking mages guild to even be able to buy the home. I don't like it having the grandmaster alchemy set in it but it's easy to fix. Tho the placement is a bit bad. Also wanted to try out an Amazing Balmora Expansion player home but I'm having troubles with mod compatibility rn and creating a new character is to tidius because of the quest related to the house. Still waiting for someone to make a tour of it on RU-vid or have a let's play with this mod to peak into the house itself
What are people doing now that Great House Fliggerty, and Morrowind Modding History are closed down? Was anyone able to save all the mods from those sites?
