I just finished Morrowind (my first elder scrolls game btw) and this mod kept my sanity intact from that dice roll bs. Honestly a huge thanks to you for making morrowind a better experience for all of us :)
I hate to break this to you, but you _didn't_ finish Morrowind, for the simple fact that if you had a cheat mod installed you were playing a completely different game. When you mention dice roll "bs", you are referring to the very core of Morrowind's gameplay, which is very far from shit. Actually, it's a masterpiece of the genre. Play it as intended and it will massively reward your patience. Otherwise, just enable god mode and have done with it.
Hearing you go over it all is pretty nice. Basically from what I gather it's Morrowind with a combat feel similar to oblivion in most ways. Thank you for this; can't wait to try it out
This is pretty neat ngl, the morrowind combat hit chance is why i tend to stick to spellcasting classes, usually with regen magicka. But this has gotta be worth a try at least
Thank you so much for making a video explaining it all really! English is no my mother tongue and I always find difficult to install mods (also in other games like brutal doom and things like that) because it is in another language and in spite fo understanding more or less what I have to do it is a little bit confusing to understand it at 100% (lots or words confusing to me like fomod or mods managers and things like that, I prefer manual instalations and step by step) Your video helped me a lot!!
This mod is what naturally came to my mind when I started playing 2 days ago, Im playing for my first time ever. My friend gifted me morrowind and I am very happy to play the game that I have been hearing about for my entire life. You can just stun lock the enemy with many hits so they cannot fight back and that seems to be very imbalanced but it is better than missing 15 times in a row.
It's very simple to succeed at Morrowind - just use a weapon that matches your skills and fight with full fatigue (the green bar). Don't give up and cheat before you've given it a proper chance.
@@BlackSailPass_GuitarCovers I loved the game ❤, I got 150 hours on steam now of morrowind. My friend also gifted me oblivion afterwards but I haven't tried it yet.
There is also a combat delay for npc and creature you can remove with Tes construction set it will make the creature and npc's swing at you more have to edit in the game play settings in Tes Construction set.
The problem your mod doesn't account for is defense. The armor dmg reduction cap is something like 75%, but in base game that's fine because you can put in other layers of defense with dodge, sanctuary etc. Your mod takes that away, it basically nerfs late game defense and combat severely.
The mod does account for that. Sanctuary and similar effects are replaced with Fortify Block. It does change the way you need to build your character if you're going for builds that don't use shields but those types of builds have new options for them as well due to the amount of Fortify Strength effects that have been added. Essentially non shield builds should be building for damage output, not defense, to be effective late game with this mod on.
I recently got back into this game again. I'm playing on a android handheld with OpenMW. This mod, I dont think I could play without it. I understand the purists out there. I've beaten the game before, I do not have the patience to swing 10 times just to get 1 hit, while the enemy hits me 15 times and misses once. I do not feel like a god with this mod, I'm not over powered. This mod is awesome. It makes the combat feel more fluid. Closer to oblivion if anything.
Also to note for someone with a similar set of mods as me. I am using both Tamriel Rebuilt and Morrowind Rebirth. And a patch for both TR and Rebirth that also reverts all of the Rebirth gameplay changes back to vanilla. So all I needed to do was see what the BBC patch for Rebirth relied on. (keeping in mind that the TR and Rebirth patch replaces the main Rebirth esp) Which was I think two add-ons from Rebirth. Remove them and place the normal BBC in the data folder. Then adding the BBC TR patch as well in the data folder.
Question, doesn't this mod make weapon and shield durability horrible? higher strenght makes your attacks do more dmg sure but it also makes your weapon's hp depleet faster, same thing applies for shields but the other way arround they get their hp destroyed by those harder hits
I tested this and condition degradation doesn't appear to be affected by strength at all. With the mod weapons do feel like they degrade faster but that is because combat in general is quicker.
I do not speak english fluent - do I understand correctly, that mod works in such a way that all of strikes have 100% chance of hitting the opponent (so the only change in the game is that you have no annoying misses?
5:50 I still don't understand what does the "Advanced Mode" actually do. Could anyone explain it in more detail please? Does it mean that without it you can't use Enchanting and Spellmaking, and you can't create classic mage Spells like Fireball that hurt from distance? What does "weapon skill effects used on self" mean? You can not create enchantment on weapon like bonus fire damage when attacking?
This is going to sound dumb, but I can't tell if this is working or not. I don't get hit markers on enemies on every strike so I'm assuming it isn't working. Any help is appreciated.
im trying to do a manual install and cant get it to show up in... i put the path in the config folder... but it wont show up in the Omw launcher... man this isnt the first mod im having this trouble with... and i cant figure it out. ive done modding a lot not just in different games but skyrim, and morrowind.... it gets me how vastly different from regular morrowind Omw modding is.... fucking frustrating.
Hi thanks for the video good information as i have been looking at this, Since i found OpenMw last week, would you recommend any other mod to go with openmw and BBC that you use. thank you.
Hey I just bought Morrowind and have been trying for last 3-4 hours trying to install mods and can’t figure it out at all do you have a good place to start I watch ur video looks like something I can do and it never works have tryed 10+ different mods if anyone can send a video to help let me know
Clever and balanced. My only gripe is with magicka regen, 1pt/sec seems a bit overpowered, should be a tad slower IMO. I'm also not sure if it takes Atronach into account? My Atronach-borned Nerevar was regenerating mana which felt like cheating, but it could have been one of my other mods. Btw. was fatigue spend changed as well? I can sprint from one city to another and don't get tired at all, but jumping burns fatigue very quickly, I don't remember if it was also the case on vanilla.
1pt/sec is the slowest regen the CS allows. Old versions of BBC treated Atronach like the other signs but newer versions treat it differently and don't give it a magicka regen. Yes fatigue was given a faster regen as well. Actions other than running still cost a lot of fatigue though.
IKR removing the dice rolls makes the skill system COMPLETELY useless, the point of skills is to allow you to hit better, OMG this pisses me off. I like silent night though dont get me wrong
