There was a warning. So not pressing the button isn't suspicious.

Well, I'm back! And my Leila tunnel seems to be collapsing in on itself. It seems pretty difficult to make a case against her this episode. She could've broken Lancelot's egg... but she seemed to be trying her best in the horseshoe challenge. She really looked like a candidate in the hotel room as well. (Her frustration at Ruben was hilarious. Also talking of hilarious things, the Dexter parody at the start. Hey, anybody remember that one of "Dexter"'s most iconic villains was named Lilah? Leila... Lilah... yeah I'm really stretching here.) Still, she brought in three eggs (one of which was immediately broken by Thomas). And her team barely touched that button. Comfort looks seriously suspicious. Thomas seems less so. Comfort might be my top suspect right now. Lancelot feels like a really false Mole. Ruben might actually be the real one. But again, three young male Moles in a row? Toos doesn't take an exemption. Thereby taking E3000 out of the pot. Top suspects... Comfort, Thomas, Toos maybe? Comfort is probably at the top of my suspect list right now. I think the Mole would probably want to avoid that exemption game (like Lennart in the trust test in the barn.) For some reason I just can't see Toos as a potential Mole. Perhaps that's just good editing.

Thank you for another great hints and theories video!! Also, I love that you have your own red egg, lol! Now...where to begin? I feel like there was so much going on this week that I hardly know what to talk about first. Oh-I did some research on the pink Jeep: There is a company called Pink Adventure Tours that offers guided tours in Sedona and other places in the Southwest United States. All of their tour vehicles are pink. So I think the production team just decided to hire this company to drive the candidates in the second assignment, and then they probably thought it would be funny to make their clothing and everything else pink to match the Jeep. Or, Lieselot is the mole and she wanted everything to be her favorite color 😉 The Egg/Jeep assignment: -So...this assignment kind of makes me want to cross both Leïla and Lieselot off of my suspect list. The “blind trust” duo is NOT where the mole wants to be during this assignment. Out of the three groups, the blindfolded duo is the least likely to earn money, for the following reasons: 1. They are the first to be picked up by the Jeep, and so they only have a short amount of time to gather eggs. 2. Each successful attempt in their task earns fewer eggs than the other groups. 3. They have to spend the most time in the Jeep, and so are most likely to lose the eggs that they are carrying. If I am the mole, I want to be in one of the other two groups, where each candidate has the potential to be carrying 20 or 30 eggs, and for whom the ride in the Jeep is shorter. Leïla immediately volunteered for the blind trust duo, and Lieselot volunteered as well. I just can’t see the mole volunteering for this. I did think it was kind of funny that the two people who apparently can’t communicate ended up doing this task. But they did a decent job. -Toos/Thomas/Comfort seemed to take a little more initiative in forming their “handy” group (whereas the 3 “engineers” were kind of just the 3 people who were left over). Toos probably had the worst, most unfair overalls to wear. He couldn’t even stand or walk normally. This group earned 45 eggs total, but then lost all of them during the Jeep ride. I can’t really tell if there was sabotage, though. Would sabotage have even been necessary, with how crazy that ride was? Comfort and Thomas were sitting next to one another on the Jeep. Technically, Comfort could have reached over and taken Thomas’s red egg from his back, I guess? -Lancelot/Ruben/Conny did pretty well with their tasks; I believe they could have each taken 30 or 40 eggs (if, you know, Conny’s and Ruben’s red eggs hadn’t broken)? Ruben’s red egg breaking is probably the single thing that cost the group the most money; Lancelot made it through the Jeep ride with a decent number of eggs. Ruben probably could have done the same. But again, I can’t tell if this was real sabotage or not! I don’t really suspect Lancelot, and it seemed like it was his fault, unless Ruben purposefully pushed his chest into Lancelot’s elbow or something, lol. -Thomas dropping Leïla’s egg on the ground in front of everyone was giving me Jurre energy (the only thing missing was “F*** that egg!”😂😂😂) -Lancelot’s missing egg: I’m a little confused about where this egg disappeared from. We saw that he had the egg sitting on his bedside table in his hat. But then later when he is talking about what happened, he said he had it in a bowl in the hallway? I want to know, because if it went missing from the bedroom I would be suspicious of the two who were in the bed with him (Toos, Ruben), but if he moved it to a bowl in the hall then anyone could have taken it. The way the camera dramatically showed the broken egg in the garden as the cars drove away was so funny. It was like they were revealing a murder scene or something. -ONE more thing that I think is worth mentioning about eggs: Thomas and Ruben are the first ones to wake up that morning and find the note from Gilles. And then Ruben suggests not sharing the note with the rest of the group? Ruben is SO confusing to me! Last week he was gleefully bouncing up and down on his bed like a little boy and singing Miley Cyrus, and now he wakes up and decides to plot against the group? But then later in the episode he’s back to “yay! I have my own bed! I can be a starfish!” Who is this person and where did they find him?!?! And on that note...I think I am going to have to end my analysis here. It is time for me to go to sleep. I’m not even going to attempt to think through the other two assignments or the hidden hints right now. Maybe I will wait to see what Oranges has to say 🙂

This season is just getting more and more confusing to me the more I watch! Every challenge I'm like, well, surely so and so can't be the mole, then they do something heinously suspicious. Then someone who I've suspected the last two weeks does something patently contestant-like, and I'm back to square one. Alas. I found Ruben and Thomas' little conversation about Gilles' note and the red eggs pretty enlightening. Ruben really dropped down my suspect list for a few reasons this week, but this might be the moment that defines it. I just don't think the mole tries to hide a crucial thing like this? It doesn't really read as fair, if that makes any sense. I don't think the mole hides the importance of the red eggs, but rather, oh, you know, smashes one behind everyone's backs. Aaaaaaaand now I'm hungry for breakfast >:( For challenge 1, I found Lieselot and Ruben the least suspicious. They get through every challenge (Lieselot crushes the whip task) and besides a bit of miscommunication on the walkie talkie (and honestly communication is a two-way street with the other team), they are able to get across every $1000 horseshoe. It's not their fault the other team already picked Jolly Jumping by the time they figured out the red horseshoe was Jolly Jumper. And they even dig through the poo pile to find the other matches. Not to call that pure proof of innocence (because I don't think those metal tags actually helped the other team at all), but still. Hard to see any moling here. It's not lost on me that Thomas first and immediately says he wants to ride a horse while they're dividing the tasks. He seems to always jump in with what he wants to do in a task, and I find that inherently suspicious. I think the mole definitely wants to be around the horse in this challenge. Let's break the horse group down: Comfort was supremely suspicious. If she's the mole, she hears Lancelot give the Jolly Jumping clue out, know he's wrong but how easy is it to find Lucky Luke as soon as he says it, to guarantee $1000 out of the pot? Then touches a horseshoe and gets herself caught and out of the game after sabotaging the $1000. Lancelot was...moderately suspicious. Finds the Jolly Jumping horseshoe, didn't have anyone call him out on the bad horseshoe so rolls with it and guarantees $1000 out of the pot. Knows Alexander the Great's horse to earn a measly $200, and gets Goodweervandaag wrong, but gets called out by Conny and Comfort (but this would have been another mistake involving a $1000 horseshoe I think so shouldn't be ignored). Then gets caught at the very end but at that point the game's over so doesn't affect anything. Thomas finds Alexander the Great at the last second, which wasn't really necessary as a mole, but it's only $200 so no big loss. He's also responsible for bringing in 1/2 of the $1000 horseshoe pair. There's legitimately some weird editing shenanigans, because Toos got caught by the lasso the first time out (you can see it if you slow down a perfect shot of him getting caught). I assume that maybe he was in the safe zone when he got roped so it didn't count. But Toos hearing Ruben say 'Witje' wrong costs another $1000, and he helps orchestrate a wrong $200 horseshoe with Ros Beiaard...but he finds the blue horseshoe at the very last minute to help earn $1000. Hmm. Leila...doesn't do anything. Helpful or hurtful. I just don't see her being the mole. Here's the thought I have of the horse group: they're all suspicious other than Leila. Toos and Thomas bring in all the money, but the problem here is there's only so much room to sabotage as the mole here. You can get rid of Jolly Jumper early to remove $1000 from the pot. But Lancelot knows the Alexander the Great horse, so why try to sabotage it? If $200's gonna be earned, might as well be you earning it. Same thing with Amika. It sounds like it would be borderline suspicious to not know this pairing? I don't know it obviously but it sounds like a beloved series so, again, if this is going to be earned might as well be you earning it. Toos and Thomas solo earn the $1400 here, but I'm still not sold on either of them being unsuspicious here...especially if they were gonna sabotage an egg or two later to take back $500. The logic for Toos could be, hey, they messed up Jolly Jumping to lose $1000 and I misunderstood 'Witje' to lose another $1000, so I can earn $1000 after losing $2000. Thomas could have assumed they wouldn't find the blue horseshoe in time so he heroically finds the Tornado horseshoe. I'm not convinced on anything this task, other than that I still don't suspect Leila or Lieselot, and Ruben I find less suspicious. Also, they put their red eggs aside during this task. At what point does Conny's egg break? Is it secretly sabotaged during this task? Or at the bar? All it would take is a little pinprick. Hmm. (Or maybe Conny just broke it. She doesn't seem the most cautious of candidates XD) And the introduction of the 'Case of the Broken Egg.' Alas, I don't think even Sherlock Holmes himself could solve this one. Love the reveal of its smashed remains like a murder just occurred. I love sneaky mole actions like this one. I still see Lancelot as a red herring, but obviously the easiest way to mole here is to steal your own egg and blame someone else. And now for our next egg-cellent challenge! This is how you do an egg-centric challenge, WIDM! Thomas again is helping to divide the teams, and every time I just think it's suspicious. How I would love the dad of the group to be the mole one year! And of course the 3 contestants I'm most suspicious of end up in the same group together! Protecting the red egg is so difficult for many of them. Toos has a horrible spot, as does Thomas. Riding in that jeep and having the egg hidden on your back? Tough stuff. Leila and Lieselot have the worst position to mole in. A) First on the jeep, which is the true hazard this challenge. Let other contestants be in this position, because the eggs will probably accidentally break without you having to do anything. B) Smallest group, so less contestants to sabotage. They also do reasonably well, so while Leila and Lieselot remain the least suspicious in my eyes. Toos, Thomas and Comfort are all suspicious and nothing really changed for me in this challenge. All 3 have their red eggs break. It almost doesn't matter how well they do in throwing and catching eggs if they all have their red eggs break. I guess Thomas might be a bit more suspicious because his throws to Comfort weren't great. They couldn't get past 20 eggs with him throwing. Comfort has practically direct access to his back egg though. And I notice they put a lot of Thomas' eggs on his back. Which would be smart if you're already trying to protect his back since the red egg is there, but it just seems kinda foolish cause it's the easiest place for him to not be able to see and protect them. Conny's (second) red egg sorta falls on its own accord, so I don't assume sabotage from Lancelot or Ruben. I think Ruben was a bit foolish to stand so close to Lancelot while tying those balloons, but Lancelot really seemed to be looking at Ruben's egg rather than the balloons he's tying when it falls. I dunno on this one. Lancelot actually earns the most eggs in his group, but it's a pittance of $200, which is easy to earn if he broke his own red egg earlier. He continues to be suspicious but I still have the weird feeling that he's just TOO suspicious. I dunno. For the exemption challenge, I kinda think this is one instance the mole sorta wants to stay out of? Maybe let who you're roomed with dictate how often the button's press and stay out of it so it's played fair for them. I guess if you really want to mole this challenge make sure you're in the endgame so not as much money is earned, but I just don't think they want to put themself in the position of being forced to earn money the way Toos was. The only thing this challenge proved to me is that Lieselot is absolutely not the mole. No way. You forced money to be earned here, and the mole doesn't do that. Toos could still be the mole, but I think it's silly that he put himself in that position if he is the mole. But still, not taking more money and an exemption was kinda crazy. Thomas' disbelieving laugh to Ruben was hilarious. Also, Toos being like 'Ruben is with us.' Literally two seconds later, Ruben saying 'I don't believe it.' What a great challenge. Leila pressing the button 3 times in a row caught my eye. A strange move if you're the mole. Other weird moment: you never see Thomas press the button even though he and Conny pressed it the most. He's the only candidate who you don't see press the button, which makes me wonder. After this episode, I've got Thomas and Comfort back up on top, Lancelot too although I feel like I'm being forced to take him as a mole even though my gut says he's the red herring of the season. Toos is middle of the pack with Ruben, but both did some very un-moley things to me this week. Leila I've almost fully eliminated (I just don't see her do enough to be considered a suspect) and Lieselot is not the mole. I've completely eliminated her as a suspect and if it's her I will just be confused as to how.

I more or less agree with everything you said here, and I think we are on the same page going into the next episode. For me, Lieselot and Leïla are 100% ruled out (the blindfolded task was like the final strike for both of them), Ruben is 95% ruled out, and Lancelot is maybe 80-90% ruled out? My episode 1 intuition was way off, lol!

OK, I am back for part 2 of my analysis of this episode. Fun fact: when I was doing my Dutch lesson on Duolingo today, one of the sentences that I had to write was “I have a new egg.” 😂 First assignment: I am not going to focus on too many details here, about who called out which name, who picked up which horseshoe, who was on the walkie talkie, etc...because my brain would melt. But I have a few thoughts. -I do think that the mole was in the group of 6, with the horseshoes. It is much easier to control the amount of money earned that way. -The fact that one (two?) of the horseshoes ended up facedown on the ground was interesting to me. It’s not like the wind could just blow it over. Knocking a horseshoe down would be a super clever sabotage, because of course a candidate’s first instinct would be to pick it up and read it. But...could the mole have actually done this without the cowboy and/or the rest of the group noticing? One thing that stood out to me was that when Thomas was being chased by the cowboy, he dove down onto the ground to avoid the lasso. Could he have pushed a horseshoe while he was down there? I know I am probably overthinking this. The horse probably stepped on the horseshoe. Lol. -The white horseshoe “witje/witse” thing was sketchy. Those words are almost the same. If you are Lancelot, and you (apparently) know the name of Pippi Longstocking’s horse, would it really be that hard to connect the dots? And did Toos really not hear Ruben correctly? Ruben seemed (understandably) pretty annoyed afterwards when Toos was accusing him of mispronouncing the name. Was Toos trying to make Ruben look suspicious? -Lancelot was doing a lot of talking, and making some not-so-great suggestions during this assignment. But I feel like some of it may have been to test the other candidates, to see who was willing to correct him and who wasn’t. That is the kind of vibe I was getting. -The most suspicious to me in this assignment was Comfort. Third assignment: Wow. You could not ask for a more perfect example of the difference between De Mol candidates and Wie is de Mol candidates. Lieselot and Toos are literally standing in a room covered in exemptions, and they decide not to take any because they don’t want the group to stop trusting them (and they can’t both be the mole, so at least one of them genuinely feels this way). If this assignment had taken place on Wie is de Mol, the candidates would have taken 3 exemptions each and then begged the producers to take 5,000 euros out of the pot in exchange for half a joker. -Toos should have taken the exemption. Either he is the mole, or he is willing to give up 3,000 euros and an exemption just to make himself look slightly more suspicious to the group (or he actually wants the group to trust him)...not a great trade. “Vacancy Motel” sign: Other people’s brains: “the blinking lights on the sign are spelling out “6” in Morse code” My brain: “you can spell “mol” from the letters in “motel”” 😂😂😂 -That is interesting that the sign was placed there by the production team. Is there some word or phrase that can be spelled from all of the letters? -I also noticed that when the lights go out on the “vacancy” sign it says “vaca”, which means “cow.” And at one point during the first assignment, Thomas stops what he is doing and looks at the cows. And with that, I think it’s time for me to go to sleep again, lol! 🐄🥚🐄🍳 Final thought: I am EXTREMELY close to narrowing down my suspect list to Comfort/Thomas/Toos. Maybe after episode 4.

Dooooo it, doooooo it! I have a hard time suspecting anyone outside of those three! Although I am forced to keep Lancelot around just in case they do the obvious mole strat this season (which would be okay, if not for the whole Jurre thing. I think this season will be a lot more fun if Lancelot isn’t the mole). “I have a new egg” made me lol 😆 The potential sabotage of knocking a horseshoe over is actually brilliant! I didn’t even think of that. Very clever! I also find it highly suspicious editing-wise that we don’t see Toos finding the blue horseshoe right at the end. Maybe Thomas was trying to hide it from Toos’ line of sight but failed? The idea that Toos felt pressured to not take the exemption is actually pretty interesting. The last conversation he has on the phone (I believe) is with Thomas who literally says he’ll kill him if he takes it. Maybe a very subtle sabotage by Thomas to prevent $5000 from being earned? 🤔 Final thought I had was that we haven’t had a diary of the mole this year, which is fair. They don’t do it every year. (I think you said this was your first season watching? In previous years they’ve had ‘mole diary’ moments where the mole had a confessional every few episodes to talk about their great sabotages, accidental failures, or to foreshadow an upcoming twist and it’s audio scrambled to hide their voice.) But maybe they don’t have one this year because it would be a dead giveaway to the identity of the mole? These West Flemish folks keep getting called out for their inability to be understood and it’s making me oh so curious….
