I have seen way many more, there is even a way to use the "toasty man" as an adversary in the MKII game to fight up against, although it will crash most of the time.
*A faster way to select goro if you don't want to play the entire ladder:* •Start new 1P game. •Choose any character and just as your character icon stops flickering press START on 2P controller. This will creat a DUD start on P2 as Sub Zero's icon will be highlighted but the character sprite will not appear on the P2 side of the character select menu. •A VS screen will appear showing your selected character for P1 and Sub Zero for P2 A 2 player match will begin in the courtyard stage with P1 as their selected charscter and P2 will be Johnny cage for some silly reason. ⚠️(This part is important)⚠️ •Using P1 hit Johnny Cage with exactly 1x forward jump kick then 3x uppercuts (in any order) •When the match timer drops to 79 count, press start in P1 controller. •A red screen stating "player 1 or 2 has entered the tournament" The screen will them go completly black and you will hear the "battle Plan" music play as it does in single player mode. (Do not press anything on either controller until the match starts) •Eventually a 2 player match will start in "the palace gates stage" P1 will still be their selected character and P2 will now be controlling Goro. 😊
I think it's crashing because u tried to move back with Goro, or forward with Shang in his base form. Iirc, their AIs in MK1 couldn't do that. Shang only moves forward if he's morphed.
There is a way to play the game as Goro on the Gameboy version. The only issue is that it's still Mortal Kombat 1 on the Gameboy which is almost unplayable.
I got it back in 94 too. Imagine being very poor like I was, so being stuck with this game was just gonna have to do. So I learned to enjoy it. I always picked Raiden. Trust me, after playing it over n over you'll become a master at the Game boy version.
@@johngavin1175 oh yeah.. technically there are no "Fatalities" in MK1 GB. They're called "Finishing Moves" haha and only 3 characters have decent ones. Raiden will disapear and an electrical bolt will hit the enemy shocking them. Sonia will blow a kiss that will set enemy on fire. Scorpion does his classic, mask off, 1 toasty skeleton boy coming up lol. The crap moves: Kano: Side Kick enemy falls over SubZero: Straight Punch enemy falls over Liu Kang: Uppercut enemy goes up and comes back down for a nap... lame..

Shang Tsung vs A White Shang Tsung... more like Shang Tsung vs Ghost Shang Tsung And yes, Goro vs Goro Saibot, just imagine if Ed Boom looked at this and actually considered the idea of Goro becoming Undead for the same reason the first Sub Zero did, and Shang Tsung coming back as a ghost, what would that be like in your own personal words?
Still remember the dullard code to open the cheats box for MK 1 on genesis compliments of EGM magazine Down up left left A button right down but couldn’t remember what flags did which things. Ah Retro gaming before the internet was a thing that anyone could easily access.

God, the SNES port's music..... It was high pitched and awful. (especially Goro and Shang Tsung's theme) Still pretty cool you can pull off a glitch like this. Gives people an actual reason to play the SNES version.
I've always preferred the Genesis mortal Kombat games. I got an snes mini and have these games on it. Never grew up with this system, and i'm sort of glad I got to experience sonic and the like on genesis.

if I remember correctly, you can only go forward with goro. going towards your enemy and pressing down at the same time will make goro block, when he is on block animation, you can press A, B, X, Y to see what he does (don't release forward + down while doing it).
MCMXLVIIIAlt thank you!! You’re right, it works! When I use zsnes, Goro hurts the opponent (just like in your video), but when I play MK in snes classic system (+retroarch), Goro cannot hurt the opponent, although he can do the same movements.
Only thing I'm tripping off is how did you do a grab with Goro I been knowing like 3 different ways to select him but could never get the commands to work for him to hit or grab the opponent to win a fight.
Q: have you ever had Goro come out looking like you have Predator eyes thermal looking similar to this glitch, also have you ever froze any character with Sonya and then jumped off tv screen but technically still on the stage just off the viewable section ?~GREENBAKER

I did something like this but with a Game Genie code I accidentally made ... Goro vs. Goro (pit bottom always on) for both players and crash after any movement .
How the hell did you managed for not freezing the game with Goro and Shang? I remember was made all this trick possible when I was a teenager on my Snes, I´ve founded alone as many of the other people in the comments, but always get freeze when tried to move those characters. Something weird happened here.
to move shang tsung, you can only press forward, to stop moving him, you must press forward + down, if you are holding forward + down, you can press an attack button and he will hit the opponent if i'm not mistaken, goro is the same thing
Looks like you were messing with programming oversights to get these glitches for playable Goro and Shang Tsung to work. Typically, a match in MK would end after five rounds if a proper winner isn't determined from winning two rounds. But since this appears to have gotten overlooked during development of the SNES port (especially if you win the 5th round of the match when prior matches were a draw), this leads to a good number of game code glitches to occur that wouldn't otherwise typically happen in this scenario such as all the nuttiness seen in this video and the game not knowing what to do with a player-controlled Shang Tsung and Goro since both weren't meant to be so. As for trying to do this to get Reptile to be playable, don't think it would be possible as there are specific conditions in place for having to get the fight with him to trigger and the fact that Reptile isn't a proper character in MK, but a programming flag set for the male ninja character sprite that is used by the CPU to switch between the movesets of Scorpion and Sub-Zero on the fly during a match.
