Mk11 had the possibility to choose between costumes. Change fighter between set in combat league. Mk11 had a full animation run on 60 fps. More customation items etc...
Mk1 is better, I played all mortal kombat games I never was invest that much in a mk game. The game is not perfect but mk11 I lost interesst fast and the roster was not good.
Exactly! Mk11 wasn't what I expected, but I stuck with it. Although I haven't and won't completely drop mk1, i did pick up tekken 8 and I've never touched of wanted to touch tekken.

My favorite thing about mk11 was actually the krushing blows, the fact that some of them requires you to do something to activate, like subzero slides 3 times amplified, missing the shotgun for terminator, parries like skarlet, two failed throw escapes for a bunch of characters, these makes the game way interesting for: 1. Punishment 2. Kombo extension 3. And obviously a lot of damage
I was big fan too catching someone with that uppercut never got old, and led to a limbo extender my only gripe with it were some were gifted too easily eg the sub zero slide one is a guarantee

Do I think MK11 is better than MK1? Yes. Does that mean I hate and abhor MK1? No. I like MK11 more because of the gameplay. There were no kameos to make broken exceptions. Everyone for the most part followed the same rules. Everyone has armor break, rolling, krushing blows, the two different wake ups etc. If one character had it…everyone had it. Not like in MK1, where there are character teams that are broken af and almost impossible to deal with. Or, how there are some character who can do wildly different things. Like how Sindel is the only one who can mess with your Kameo (THEE core mechanic of the game). Imo that is acceptable. That is my main problem with MK1. In MK11 sure there were broken characters, but there were still ways to fight against them. But in MK1? God forbid an already annoying character has Kameo like Stryker. That’s my issue with MK1. EDIT: And let’s not forget. MK11 had FUJIN!!! It was such a long time since we saw him it was great to see and he was awesome both story and gameplay wise.
I 100% agree with you man. For me…. MK11 had my favorite character of all time Kabal. I miss using him and sucks that he’s always one of those MK characters that’s only in 1 In every MK game rather than just being in them all. But other that, MK11 as a whole was way far more much a better game. So much things to unlock for your characters, so much more things to do by just playing offline etc. I barely have like only 5 online matches total, literally because I spent most of my time playing offline because there was literally that much to do in that game unlike MK1. MK11 will always forever outshine MK1 easily! Even once it becomes a fully finished game within the next couple of years

Personally, I always felt kinda bad playing MK11 because I just couldn't have a good gameplan like sighted players could, since the game had little to none accessibility for the blind, E.G, I could do Fujin's combos, but I just couldn't play the spacing game folks used to because it was almost impossible to know the distance between players just by sound. MK1 just makes it all a more enjoyable experience, from what I've heard from other blind people with a PS5 / newer Xbox consoles.
@@davevevevit felt less disconnected, don’t get me wrong it had too many guest too but it had more wanted original characters that it didn’t have that made it feel more fleshed out we got Shiva,Mileena,Nightwing,Rain and Shang next to popular MKX characters, we just got two superheroes and 3 highly requested characters as Kameos, but if Tremor took Peacmakers place and Khameleon took Omni-Man then more players would’ve bumped with it and then had Omni-Man and Homelander later, we have to wait extra time for not only Takeda but other original characters
I like mk1 roster better cuz mk11 didn't have smoke , reptile, ermac, kenshi, quan chi, Reiko, havik , cyrax and sektor I'm more hyped for sektor due to that they changing cyrax but mk11 didn't have any of my favorites and plus the character select screen irritated me I hated always seeing 5 to 7 revenants on the screen I hate the revenants. Mk1 is still getting cyrax , sektor, noob saibot, jade ,Takeda, ermac,kano, sareena and kung Jin according to leaks
@@DrippleDragon while that is true, 5 out of 6 characters you listed came out almost a year after the game released. Sheeva, Nightwolf in Aftermath expansion and Rain and Mileena in kp 2. And while i thought rain was sick af in mk11, mileena was really bad in that game
@@DrippleDragon and mk11 did have one of the coolest guest characters in spawn, but aside from that it was kinda bleak. I poured a lot of time into that game and really understand how horribly grindy the towers of time were (not saying that invasions are better) so thats why i cannot advocate for mk11. Also the gameplay was one of the worst in franchise in my opinion
It's taken so long to grind I just grind for characters I like to play as. Even then, it takes forever to defeat enemies in invasion to level up. I have almost 400 hours too.
Tiny correction, you can get some previous KL skins and gear in the krypt but they’re inside a Kronika sphere that’s randomly placed anywhere in the map at very specific days.

What I liked more in mortal Kombat 11: 1)the character customisation! 3 outfits part per character! 2) they told you what you needed to do to get an outfit you wanted instead of letting it be a mystery !

Waz went back and played mk11 and he looked like he was genuinely having fun unlike when he plays mk1. It’s like nrs knew how much mk11 was hated and decided to release a game to make it look good💀
Cameo system sucks and it should have been a game mod, not a must. Add towers of time in mk1 and add more costumes like mk11 had and put the solo mod and it would be saved. It sounds like a lot, but it is not
I can’t remember who’s video it was but from the thumbnail and headline alone summarized MK 11 perfectly, the game failed and succeeded simultaneously. MK 11 has the most amazing graphics, textures, and presentation so far with customization that suits the character perfectly 8 times out of 10. They also gave the players the towers of time which was where casual players were likely spending a majority of their time and made grinding less of a hassle. Where they failed is in the story mode with awkward pacing, inconsistent narratives, and plot lines that felt underwhelming, the ai mode where a computer can just take over the characters you don’t want to play or grind for, and the fighting gameplay as a whole.
I still run through the island every now and then. The fact that it's shang's island from the movie is awesome. Presentation for this game is unmatched. I started this game late and doing those fatals for every character was some Bull. 25 was still a lot. They needed to have more ways offline for kasuals to get time Krystals.
The fight animations in mk11 was superior! It was soo swagy to look at. My boy Fuji’s and erron black is a perfect example of this, their animations were cool as hell! Mk 1 fight animations looks kind of goofy even tho it has the better game play mechanics.
Yup I just think krushing blows should’ve always been based on punishes and counter hits and lead to every characters best combos. Rebalance them add some launchers and an actual breaker and mk11 is the goat
Dude I know 😭. Down-2 felt so good to land because when you landed it you know you countered correctly. I’m a Raiden main. So my favorite Krushing Blow was his Back-2. The classic karate chops. The damage was real, and it felt great to land it. Especially as a mix up and after they spent all of there defense meter.

i Remember the throne room in mk11 i had cheesed it then you were loading it to the crypt hold a and go over to the head and it would just unlock the head they patch that so fast

I have about 1444 hours on MK11, the interesting thing is I bought MK1 it took me only 52 hours to drop the game, everything in MK11 is better imo and when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING, the music, menu, character looks, abilities, KBs, fatal blows, offensive defensive bar system, and the list goes on
I thought the co op boss towers were fun and a great way to teach friends mechanics while playing with them. It would’ve been great to see full on co-op towers in this game. Customization was also better but trying to get the stuff you wanted would get into the annoying camp due to loot box aspects in krypt.
I got to the game late when they changed it to 25 fatals for the heads to open the throne room. I remember getting so heated when the input didn't register and I didn't get the fatality credit and had to start over. Fun times though.
I like the combat in MK1 and thats pretty much it, the customization and aesthetic of MK11 is just so much better though, I hope the next MK brings it back permanently
I just felt 11 had way more single player content. (I don't play online) With the living towers and the krypt on top of the great story mode. Plus the grind was way more satisfying and didn't take nearly as long to get what you wanted. They had character specific towers, so you knew what you were going to get and didn't feel like you were wasting your time. I may have had my favorite character, but I liked customizing every character and making them my own. So I could take every character through their specific character tower and within a few hours have 80% of their gear and without spending a dime. Plus there was the krypt. The game was just way more rewarding and without a ridiculously tedious grind. I spent about 10 hrs in invasions and only got one costume for the specific character I was playing as a couple random gear pieces and like one shader. In 11 when you look at a tower, the tower tells you exactly what you are getting. Plus when you unlock a costume you get all the different alternate colors of that costume with it. Now in MK1 they nickel and dime you for each color. MK1 is way too much of a grind and for little reward. Plus all the good stuff is kept behind paywalls. At least with 11 90% of the badass gear and costumes you could unlock for free and the grind wasn't for random crap. You knew where to go to get what you wanted.
I really love how distinct every single character is in mk1 don’t know how this was in mk 11 but it is so good for bringing in people with different play styles

Mortal Kombat 11 had absolutely phenomenal customization. Not only were there multiple skins which had multiple color palettes, but you could also customize three gear pieces. And you could even choose which animations you would want to have for your intro and outro. It was absolutely phenomenal. And on top of that, whenever a DLC character dropped, they would release a skin pack alongside the DLC character which had more skins and gear pieces for three characters that were already in the game. AND ON TOP OF THAT, they would release an exclusive extra 4th DLC skin for a character if you owned the Kombat pack.
I got this game for my birthday in 2019 and the Most favourite thing about mk11 is the characters everyone loves and you can custom your fav characters too😊🫶🏻
Having been the guy whose car alarm goes off all the time, trust me it sucks more for him lol. He has to deal with it more often and its louder AND it's embarrassing. Sometimes machines dont work right 🤷♂️
for me its the fact that ANY character could win, you would even see what people consider low teir in tournaments like mileena but you could still win, in mk1 some characters are just WAYY too strong to the point where its near impossible to win
I like MK11 way more. I grinded the severed heads just so I could get Kano’s laser eye intro. Totally worth it. I like the gameplay of MK1 but in so many ways the game is a step down from 11. Overhauling/reinventing Invasions mode would be a first step to fixing the game.
A comment before I watched the video. What I'm a fan of in MK11 over MK1 is how casual friendly it was, I do have friends that wanna play or come over and they end up choosing MK11 just because they like the roster more (more recognizable characters), the gameplay is easier to pick up (and honestly I think I prefer it more over the cameo system, the main issue was the breakaway, regenerable meter was debatable, maybe if you had to fight for the defense meter the game would have been better). They always want to play mk11 just because the gameplay its easier, they can do cool combos with regenerable meter (and combos are a lot easier, kameo mechanics are very hard if you're not used to it) and yeah, in some way, they liked how the character designs looked better and also how they can customize a lot more stuff.
I feel like mk11 was better not only the krypt was better but before a match started the dialog between characters were priceless and how characters roasted each other . I liked the crushing blows , stage interactions, stage fatalities, customization cosmetics were better , brutalities were better
Krypt and presentation that was the good thing about MK11 but that's all, even haters could see that MK1 has the potential of been the best MK game in terms of gameplay and characters and meaby online if they keep adding.
Honestly I have to agree because MK11 just had more to do and with what I've seen from the tier lists compared to MK1, I think did a much better job at balancing the roster. With MK1, netherrealm did an AWFUL job at balancing the game, with characters like Johnny Cage not even getting nerfed until recently, and Sub Zero, who everyone almost unanimously claims is the worst character in the game, ends up getting more nerfed than the S tier characters.
I'm still baffled as to how poorly WB supports MK1. They just don't care,the amount of time we have to wait between seasons to get more content or even to fix some bugs or balance patches is insane. Games like SF6 at least have different game modes and better single player content and Tekken 8 is simply more fun to play and also has better customization options. I occasionally play MK1 with friends but asides from that i feel like i'm wasting my time.
@@azizkash286 idk I enjoyed a lot more the single player open world Sandbox with character customization than invasions mode and the game had crossplay and lobbies with mini games with friends. MK1 didn't even have crossplay until the Peacemaker update.
For me personally it was the storyline that failed in mk1 and the reason behind it was that the first half of mk1 started off amazing I really thought liu kang was actually going to face off against someone he hasn't before, JUST LIKE NETHER REALM TOLD US ALL ON THE BACK COVER OF THE GAME. But instead not only was it shang tsung who was the main villain but it was the same shang tsung we faced off in mk11 dlc
For 50 fatalities you could literally just run AI on survival or endless tower to make them shorter cuz they'll do the fatalities themselves. I just let the game run while played on my phone or watching some combos the AI is doing
Mk11 was SUPER slow, the crushing blow mechanic was awful and broken, the meter system was pointless, and having to guess if your opponent would invincible get up was annoying
@@sol241 You know what’s more annoying? Everyone using the only two effective Kameos and spamming them. Too much crap on the screen that kills the vibe of a one v one. No strategy, no footsies, just button mash.
@@SuperEgo19 honestly i think you dislike it because your not good enough, its easy to read kameo moves plus 2v2 adds for insane combo possibilities unlike mk11 which was using the same 2-3 strings so i do say there involves some strategy especially when setting up combos

100% true and the cast was definitely better non of them have characters from the old games that take character slots and the new characters were great unlike Mk 1 where it was more nostalgia baiting and the guest characters were great especially the Joker
You could literally get those things in the krypt. They had krypt events for stuff like Jax arms etc. where you had 24 hours to get it and they would even have a pop up event telling you

I'm a brand new mortal kombat player mortal kombat 1 is really my first fighting game I actually play. I thought the invasion mode was a blast at first. But now it's just boring and easy. Plus the online feels lonely there's nothing they're in the menu.
Can we go back to the days when Season Pass actually means by all the future DLC content & pre-order content? One DLC that's not pre-order stuff can slip through the crack but nothing else. I get virtual currency to buy cosmetics but don't give us the option to buy virtual currency using real money. Virtual currency should only be give by at least experiencing playable content (playing the game, not grinding). It's really sounding like Mortal 1 Kombat has a problem where.. There's more cosmetics then there are ways of playing through all of the modes without grinding for Time Krystals?
After four years people were shitting on mk11 Suddenly the most of them prefer it over mk1 which has better gameplay. And i think the gameplay is the most important thing should be considered.
NetherRealm Studios was at its Prime at MK11. It had a good character selection, a good tower system, not everything was transactional 🤑 The character interactions were much better than MK1 before and during a match. MK11 also had community bosses, which I personally really enjoyed. It feels like MK11 smashed it, and I thought MK1 was going to be mindblowing. Yet, as gorgeous as the graphics are, it doesn't make the story any better, MK1 feels hollow compared to MK11, and it's sad to see. What's going on with developers now a days?
I was so disappointed MK1 had no krypt 😢 i spent way too many hours running round MK11's krypt. Honestly the shrine in MK1 is abysmal first day of the new season and i kompleted it 🤦🏻♂️ Bring back the krypt NRS !
The Defense and Offense Meter did the Job for me, combined with the Combo Breakaway Feature and the Krushing Blows. Dont like the MK1 Combo Breaker, you only could use it once per Match if you lucky, then you cant do Ex (too Much Street Fighter) Moves.
I'm just a casual so I loved Crushing Blows more. I love the goofy ahh moments me and my friends had while playing MK11. It's also easier to see and understand "oh shit so that's what I did wrong" instead of having to block strings that feel like an eternity WITH Chip Damage if you can't get the timing down and just desperately find a way to "fight back" or get shit on by a 40% combo. It's a two touch game at best with all the chip damage. And this is from someone who fights Zato-1 from Guilty Gear regularly. Maybe it's because there are no meterless reversals. But I digress. Everything is also mindlessly safe in Mk1 thanks to the Kameo system. And even then, Johnny Cage. Sometimes my only "Out" against a stupid Johnny Cage with all of his plus moves is to Armor through the damn thing. And sometimes I'd have to resort to the most uninteresting, uninteractive keepaway playstyle because his buttons are just mathematically better than mine (Yes I play Suck-Zero and Lowpion). The Krypt is gone. Invasions is boring even after one season. Up Block makes jump ins or slow overheads feel worthless when my opponent uses it. And even then, my Jump 2 whiffs almost all the time anyways. At least it teaches me the power of an Empty Jump In. Mind games !!! I know I'm not the best. The furthest I got was Rank V in Mk1. I am sure some pros might come in here and invalidate all that I said and that's fine. If you are good at the game and still enjoying it somehow, then good for you. There's just so much I could say about Mk1 that makes me hate the game more. In Mk11 though, I can still enjoy it til this day with friends.
Jax klassic arm is like a 1 time in a year only kronika golden chest, i got it that way, they use to notify that limitet time chests, but i think they stoped later
I personally don't think the gameplay of MK1 is fun, people say its so much better than mk11 but mk1 doesnt feel fast paced. It feels linear and bouncy, along with kameos acting like a different game mode instead of the base mode.
