Probably would make him look fat with the new realistic aesthetic. Seriously though most 3d era characters would not look very good in the new style, just look at Hsu Hao and goro for example.
...I think there's a healthy chance he's gonna be in the new MK1...the trailer already references how we saw him in Kung Lao's ending from the MK11 tower mode.
@@juliusdv6657 the suspension of disbelief and bad writing. Onaga was a guy Kahn knew he couldn’t fight outright and had to resort to poisoning over a long time, he’s not surviving a fight against him.
@@thomasraines1396 I didn't write the story I'm just stating the facts and what happened. Onaga snatched him, yet Shao was some how able to make his way to the top, kill blaze, and win Armageddon. -shrugs-
@@thomasraines1396 I suppose, but whether you believe it or not is pointless. Arguing facts with opinions is a slippery slope. We'll never know what happened to Onaga, but I don't think they shook hands and talked it out lol.
Onaga returning thanks to Kang Lao foolishness and the Dragon King now seeks to mold Liu Kang into his new vessel using the Kamidogu or make him his Heir.
@@FrancescoZOR OMFG, after reading that, I was so freaking speechless. So many characters, so many locations, so many modes... including some strangely unique details such as Henry Stickman and RHM (That I “wish” would be OP). Mega imagination, I can’t say nothing more.
An alternate plotline with Kung Lao being decieved by Onaga would be great. It would fit his character well too, since everyone sees him as a weaker Liu Kang, many characters even taunt him about it in intros, it would make sense for him to be decieved since he wants to prove himself so bad. Thus he would turn on his allies believing that he is finally chosen for something big. Damn mk12 has a lot of potential with Onaga. I just hope they make something of it.
@@Rio-lw2zj Well Kronika is a kinda different thing, since that's its own mode, compared to the storyline mode that can result in Liu Kang's ending, or Shang Tsung's ending.
Onaga's lineage would help explain why Liu Kang is the chosen one. People with Outworld heritage like Bi-Han and Kuai Liang are capable of overcoming demigods and Shokan warriors. His personality though is the primary factor in my opinion.
@@jakemauro5677 They're descended from an Edenian race known as the Cryomancers. The idea of Liu Kang being a descendent of Onaga is really dumb anyways.
Bi han knows s*** will go down if that happens. Makes sense he's afraid of Onaga being raised lol, the heroes AND villains will all be in huge trouble then
Actually there’s an explanation Onaga was going to be in the continuation of the MK tie in comics but those got cancelled Basically Goro steals his egg from the Lin Quei, takes his power as the vessel and is only defeated by the efforts of Raiden, Fujin, Kotal Kahn, Sub Zero, Scorpion and Kenshi (the last one sacrifices his ancestors to banish Onaga to the NetherRealm) before Goro is finally slain by Kotal Kahn one onnone
I would love to see Onaga return as the MK12 big bad, see a backstory for him, see how outworld was under his rule, see Shao Kahn as his advisor and how he took over Outworld.
@@darkside9547 She’s right, only an Elder God will know knowledge like that and why else would she say “mortals” are always self assured as if we always think we’re right but in the end we’re wrong

@@OscarHernandez18600 No they are not the same person, no that would be f-ing lame, no that's not going to happen, etc. Ferdy was just more succinct about it.
On the one hand it's nice how they referenced Deception, even mentioning Damashi from Konquest mode, and Daegon and his cloning experiments from Armageddon, a real treat for fans of the PS2 era of MK... On the other hand though, all this mention of Goro having Onaga's power seems like it's actually referencing the MKX comic, which just featured PS2-era characters because they were seen as second class, not good enough to be in the games, expendable without repercussion on the main plot... and in there after Goro loses his arms they say they would have used Onaga's power to heal him, a plotline that I think wasn't explored further (I'm not sure though, I don't remember exactly what happens, I threw that comic in a fire after reading it) so a reference to that is pretty much the opposite of a treat, since it's working to more strongly establish into the main canon a secondary piece of media that crapped all over the series' lore.
I'm not sure about everyone else, but I really am hoping this is hinting at an unexpected, but VERY welcomed return of The Dragon King, Onaga. He's one of the underrated big bads who I don't feel get the recognition they deserve. And this may be our opportunity to have the actual "Mortal Kombat: Deception" story retold, but with more of an edge to this. A new universe means either a new, worse Onaga........or an Onaga who transcended the boundaries of time through death, itself, to be a multiversal singularity - meaning he remains the same being no matter what universe he's in due to having become some fixed point in reality and/or time - and the fighting dialogue all alludes to a major Konflict brought on by the Dragon King. Not gonna hold my breath here, but I am SO eager for Onaga to return, outshine Kronika and all the other villains, to be the Thanos of MK that he's always been compared to by creating a scheme that will allow him to transcend The One Being.....and perhaps even The Titans, themselves. After all, I can't think of any being higher on the mythological food chain than The Primordials, who are the true creators of all things: including, in my opinion (and noone get offended) even Jehovah, himself. But only time will truly tell. And hopefully, Netherrealm doesn't take too long to decide on if they'll do anything with him, or not. After all the epic hype built around him in Deception, and even before, Onaga The Dragon King deserves to take center stage as a prime evil, again - I think he's been cheated out of a spot long enough, personally.^^;
It's interesting how Sheeva is probably the person who mentions onaga the most. Here's hoping she has a big part to play when he does return. I'm secretly hoping that her and Noob's intro comes true and he does want her as his bride. Maybe he promises her that the Shokan will be protected which makes her actually question marring him.
1:50 So there is a timeline where Kung Lao who is tricked by Onaga, instead Shujinko. And since he won't worry about purifying himself and have to go back Netherrealm, neither pass so much time in Orderrealm (if he beats Hotaru), he will not age so soon as Shujinko did. But the new timeline's Shujinko looks he still could learn at least Shang Tsung's sorcery, since he become a soul thief in MKX.
MK11 would had been a nice way to bring all past villains. Maybe Kronika saves them from their defeat and summons them when their goals come true. Then the good guys had to fight all of them.
It would be cool to have Onaga return, maybe we can get flashbacks to see how Outworld was under Onaga’s rules, maybe we can see Shao Kahn as his servant, show Onaga being poisoned. It would be good to have Onaga be that villain that Shao even fears and be willing to team up with the heroes to defeat him.
It seems like MK12 is going in a multiverse direction But I think it would've been cool if MK1, Onaga was never overthrown by Shao Kahn, making him the antagonist. Then upon beating Onaga, you cause Shao Kahn to take the throne for MK13.
@@hands-ongaming7180 MK9 is more time travel. The idea that MK1-7 never happened This is true as 12 restarts the timeline too, but (intro spoilers) . . . . . . . . . Some of the dialogue mentions things like Liu Kang filling Johnny Cage's role in a different timeline/universe Kano controlling the hourglass Kenshi not having telekinetic powers.
