I always have admired their job in this game, not because of the game itself, but because they seem like having a lot of fun while making it, and that is just great
Hands down my favorite MK game. The perfect franchise that started at the perfect time. For a time there MK was the king of the arcade. How I wish NetherRealm would consider resurrecting their cancelled MK HD Remake.
Someone tried telling me that the digitizing of characters is out dated?? I was like what the fuck are you kidding me?? An updated HD version of digitized characters would be awesome if it was ever made!!...MKII still my favorite fighting game along with MKIII
Some fans have created a mugen game based on it called *"MK II remix"* which is super great. They take everything good from the original, and add some more awesome stuff without make it bloat and convoluted like many other MK mugens. It's a very polished and well made mugen. I can't stop playing it. 🥰
these guys are legends .. i love this franchise .. mortal kombat had a better storyline than most hollywood movies. too bad they could never make a proper movie
Annihilation could have been really good........, but the whole CGI of the dragons was unbelievably terribly done and never should have been put in.........Also........They never showed all of the characters they mentioned......they just mentioned them as some half ass cameo.....Sheeva had theee lamest death ever, lol. Nightwolf should have had a longer part, but was decent for the short time......Sindel was acceptable. The real fighting, like with Cyrax and Reptile from the first movie is what people want to see
Damn as a kid I had this very behind the scenes magazine. My mom worked with Dr. Philip An and he was able to get the majority of the cast to sign it for me. Lost that bad boy.......regrets.....nostalgia
I had the magazine as well, read that MK section over and over so many times. Was the April/May 1994 issues of GamePro I believe. Awesome story about Ahn!
I remember when EGM came that had the first preview of MK2, I almost panicked I was so excited! I just couldn't settle down, it was insane. I was SO HYPED!
Dude as a kid I wanted that EGM so badly because I saw it at a game store. I didn't get it until about a week after I initially saw it. I was so crazy to have the damn magazine that I was having dreams of getting it....All for a magazine about MK2....What a crazy ass time..I was like 9-10 at the time. lol
Me too dude. Yeah it was insane. My copy was SHREDDED, I think I brought it to school every day for like a couple months. All of my friends wanted to look at it and borrow it. Good times, we would have been good friends :)
I still remember the first time I saw this game in an arcade as a child, it blew my mind away. I was a huge fan of MK1 and this game delivered in every aspect, best sequel ever imo.
You NAILED it completely. Creepy Kung Fu movie is such a perfect description, especially the first 2 games. MKIII was great but started to go off track a little. But once they went away from the digitized graphics, it was never the same.
I remember MKII was 70USD back in the day. I was 12 years old when it came out and it took me over half a year of allowance to afford the Sega version. Once I got the game, I played the hell out of that game.
These production photos just make me super emotional for some reason. It's just cool to have so many cool moments frozen in time from a period where Mortal Kombat ruled the fucking earth. Now that we're sort of in a new Mortal Kombat renaissance it's rather special to revisit these early moments that may have previously been taken for granted. I love the new games, but MK2 is a no holds barred all time classic.
I had MK 2 for Sega. I was such a little boy, going to grandmas house. The Nickelodeon days. The no fucks given days. The its all about me days. 90's kids understand.
KATALIN ZAMIAR is STILL BEAUTIFUL.... had the honor and privilege of meeting her last year in Chicago. KATALIN if you read this I hope it makes ur day.... jus lettn the fans know! Ho Sung Pak hasnt aged a day I swear ta god. And Daniel Pesina is LITERALLY the nicest dude on the planet.
NEXUS NINJA always wondered if she was cool with the body suit they had her wear lol she was probably like oh jeez you guys are gonna enjoy seeing me in this aren’t you lol
Great video. I'm impressed by how ripped these actors were although I'm sure they did not need to be for some blurry digitized sprites. John Parrish, in particular, had a truly legendary physique.
I don't think they used editing it says at least in mk one they took pictures uploaded it and just put animation on the picture u know like if it moved forward move the picture forward unless they actauly used there full animation of a camera and uploaded them actually doing moves or did it both ways I think they had to wear the costumes and everything I don't think it was edited or at least it claims they even in the captureing the animation they actually had to be in costume here which also makes it harder to do here is some videos of of them battleing each other in video games and actual digitized motion capture it self I don't like putting links on other videos but since everyone talking about behind the scenes I found some videos earlier ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ZeNJMYbyb4.html Elizabeth Malecki and Daniel Pesina on gamesmasters ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lwoy6iFkyl8.html part one digitized motion capture ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ErcA-ImOw8E.html&spfreload=5 2 digitized motion capture ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zmjZNBj-JFw.html sonya blade part 4 digitized motion capture theres probably more parts some individuals in some of the videos seemed they couldn't even do the moves to well but they looked as the character though its harder to do all that in costume some seemed could do sorta some martial arts ha I did think the friendships and all the things they did had really good animation I think because actors I think went through the process I think instead of making the characters do it from a computer designed character after having certain animations or whatever 2 had probably some of the best animations its videos for mk one but mk2 I think used same actors and followed same process I not sure if street fighter the movie the game used the same process I think most will find these interesting well I hope everyone enjoys and everyone in the world is having a good weekend and doing ok.
so it's doctor Shang Tsung...well you live and learn. -Doctor Tsung, I've been feeling depressed for quite some time now, like I'm dead inside. Why is that? -I see, well I have a lot of patients with that kind of symptoms...its because...YOUR SOUL IS MINE! BUAHAHAHAHa
Željko Banković I always liked that version of Tsing cause it was the first time you got to see what he looked like as a young guy and gotta say he was handsome dude in his youth. Wish he wouldn’t have worn that hat though I mean I know it was an addition to his costume but I wanted to see his hair do from his stud days cause he clearly lost it later on
I think its cool they seemed like pals the old games were more realistic I mean in the fact they all had to do the animations and in costume not sure if other old games did it exactly like that probably some what but I think mk was the only one using actors instead of drawn ones and now probably mk and most 3d games they can just take part animations and make up parts with actual just designed characters and reuse the animations like if u have some animations u can just move the 3d character or make animation like just use some functions within the software to do it like example a ballon u can just say I want it to fluctuate or bounce a certain way or whatever without getting animation at least in the old ones they did all the animations they all redid animations even probably for fatalities since they had to be in costume instead of just one animation for everyone so they had to look like the characters and in costume was probably realy hard in some of the costumes I don't like putting links to other videos on other videos but since everyone talking about behind the scenes this is actually some videos of them batteling each other in video games and actually doing the moves some seemed to not be able to do the moves some did its really hard in the costumes they looked like the characters I not sure if street fighter the movie the game used same process as mortal kombat to make there games ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ZeNJMYbyb4.html Elizabeth Malecki and Daniel Pesina on gamesmaster ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lwoy6iFkyl8.html part one digitized motion capture ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ErcA-ImOw8E.html part 2 digitized motion capture ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zmjZNBj-JFw.html sonya blade part 4 digitized motion capture theres probably more but I found some videos earlier thought everyone find them interesting I hope everyone in the world is having a good weekend and doing ok.
Agreed, although X is a pretty good game, and has some nice (virtual) graphics, but i know what you mean, and i can't imagine what they could do with the moder technology and the 90's style MK sprites! :) Someone should make a petition for that
The photos seen in this video came from an issue of EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly). I still have that issue (and many others) in storage. I can’t remember what month/issue/ year said issue of EGM had this coverage (old age and all that), but I remember the front cover of the magazine as clear as day: it has a dark cover with Barack, Kung Lao, etc, standing in front of the Mortal Kombat symbol. As a young teen, I must have read that issue a hundred times while waiting impatiently for MK II to appear at my local arcade. Ah yes, those were the days!! ☺️❤️
I will never forget the impression MK2 made on me back in the 90's on my Amiga 1200. And my first acid pool stage fatality and how actually easy it was to perform :D And my first 2GB hardrive (seagate) which freed me from floppy juggling!
John Parrish didn't actually need to pose all that emphatically to make Jax look imposing. He just was. I remember hearing in a later documentary (his Deception bio I think?) where they mention how friendly he was to work with as well.
There's something special about these games where u can actually look back at actors, props and in the case of kintaro/goro/motaro clay models. Now it's all made within a computer so... Yea.
Damn All these guys were ripped! Even doctor shang tsung lol. "Hello I'm shang tsung and I'll be your doctor today. Don't worry your soul is in very safe hands."
true story: Right before school started when I was getting ready to move on up to the 7th grade a asked my mom to buy me a black vest and a yellow long sleeved shirt cause on the first day of school I wanted to look like shang TSung 😪😪😪😂😂
Cool material... I am very happy that they are recorded all process of a creation on a tape... Priceless footage. The best characters on my view is Kung-Lao and Johnny Cage. I've never seen the secret commercial from MK2, wow !
This is my favorite..... MK Shaolin Monks was fun coop.... Deception kept me busy for weeks as a student and I played puzzle-fighters with my girl back then.
well in mk the old games they actually used real actors and did all animations for each character and not reuse animation and also acted the animation instead of just getting some animation and then making up the other halfe with software and just moveing the 3d character I mean they had to be in costume which made it harder to do the animations and they each had to do it so they probably re did what if each fatality was used on character since had to be in costume I don't like putting links to others videos on others videos though found it interesting found them earlier and everyones talking about behind the scenes and animation and thought everyone enjoy the videos here are some videos of them batteling each other in video games and doing the animations ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ZeNJMYbyb4.html Elizabeth Malecki and Daniel Pesina on gamesmaster ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lwoy6iFkyl8.html part one digitized motion capture ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ErcA-ImOw8E.html part 2 digitized motion capture ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zmjZNBj-JFw.html sonya blade part 4 digitized motion capture theres probably more videos there from mortal kombat one but mortal kombat 2 used the same process and I not sure street fighter the movie the game might of done same thing I hope everyone in the world is having a good weekend and everything.
Mortal kombat 2 John Parrish Dr Phillip ahn Carlos pesina Anthony Marquez ho sung Pak kataian mariar rich divizio not least is birthday boy is Daniel pesina he plays original Johnny cage scoprion sub zero reprite smoke and noob saibot get over here
Ed Boon at netherrealm studios... Some of the costumes were kept by the actors if they wanted to or it wouldve been kept by midway (later on, netherrealm)...
The pictures are awesome. Cool facts about the Baraka mask. The creators said it came from a Nosferatu mask at a costume store, and the teeth came from a set of long fake fingernails from a supermarket that are painted shining silver and with their design to make the character terrifying up close
Cara se um dia eu fosse sorteado na loteria, eu trazia todos os personagens antigos novamente e vocês iriam vê o que era Mortal Kombat novamente. Seria bem medieval!
one of the best portable mortal kombat for an 8 bit gameboy it was pretty impressive for what they were limited and its funny it was the 1st MK2 game i got (didn't have snes or genesis just old school gameboy which is all i wanted for christmas 94 (12 years old) with zelda links awakening classic to this day) mk1 was nice graphics just sllloowwwww gameplay mk3 it was Ok not as bad as people say but mk4 was terrible for gameboy color
I swear I played a version of the arcade game that Johnny Cage had that writing on his pants...and in MK3 I remember there being like spotlights flying around on Pit 3 level following the action. Never saw it again until now! wtf
Pesina? Dude he has his own shit going on. He teaches at a studio. Tournaments/exhibitions excetera. He don't need mortal kombat. It didn't make or break him. They eventually replaced him with John Turk. So I'm sure they didn't miss him either
To Z He still teaches. He's actually a very VERY nice...generous guy. He lends help with fan projects, likes doing meet and greets and though he has heard the M.K. ?'s a million times ...he answers them all with joy and excitement. He has an impressive filmography, and has been in martial arts magazines and tv shows all across the world for yeaaaars. I dont think he's ran out of work yet at all. And still chooses to stay involved in the M.K. world and fandom. Not all the original actors have. Just a lil info is all.
I'll always relive my childhood playing MK, MK2, UMK3, MK Trilogy and Sub Zero Mythologies ... I remember being a kid and seeing, getting excited for the new MK4 cabinet back in 97 @ peter Piper pizza and hating it right after the first round.. They screwed up once they went 3D and the new characters were cheesy
I always wondered for years who the cute girl was playing Kitana and Mileena. Us kids all had naughty thoughts back in the '90s because of her. Thank god for the internet.
