After purchasing Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection in the PlayStation Store, I played and beat this game earlier today with Liu Kang. Great memories! Just like old times.

It's hard to believe that this game was so low budget that John Tobias had to borrow his father's camera to shoot it. I bet Midway never saw this project becoming the biggest fighting game series of all time!
Meanwhile in MK2 if you messed up Raiden's shock fatality (you have to keep tapping the button until they explode) the game won't count it as a fatality even though the screen turns dark like a fatality screen 😅
The Guy with the weakest Fatality wins the Mortal Kombat tournament in canon. How ironic that the most peaceful character wins the tournament about killing your opponent

Would be very awesome if there's a MK game with the new characters and old characters on the style of the old games but using new things like variations and combos (well is not something new, since was in MK 3) i think it would be very awesome.
Hey man thanks for doing a run with my favorite character, I learned some cool tips and tricks. I can beat MKII, MK3/UMK3 fairly well, I haven't entirely mastered MK1 so I think I'll to see if I'm able to beat it without continuing like you did.
Something about hearing Goro's theme takes me back to childhood and being scared shitless going up against him... But full of adrenaline to find that courage and drive to beat that four-armed fuck! 😁🏆
It's only fatality in this game when screen doesn't darken. He doesn't kill other kombatants because he's a good guy from Shaolin who wants to return the tournament to it's more honorable roots.

Cause Shang Tsung was never meant to be the final opponent. The Grand Champion aka Goro was. When Goro falls, he panics and challenges Liu Kang right away, hence why it's not official and doesn't take place in the throne room
@@Excalibur_777 I'm pretty sure it was always meant to be Shang Tsung. Only difference is he was supposed to be an old man with a bunch of magical powers, but they ran out of memory and had to revert to using existing assets, which is why they programmed in all the character transformations.
If we go by actual Mortal Kombat lore, then Liu Kang's walkthrough is canonical, with the only fights being Liu Kang vs. Goro & Liu Kang vs. Shang Tsung, and maybe Liu Kang vs. Scorpion (although not confirmed) since Scorpion's primary agenda was getting revenge and killing Sub-Zero, and since Kano would be too busy having his hands full with Sonya the only two remainder Kombatants are Johnny Cage who is an Earthrealmer and Raiden who is the protector of Earthrealm, so Liu Kang fighting either individual wouldn't make much sense.
He is no time traveler..he has too absorb souls too maintain his youth.. If he does not absorb souls he eventually grows old of age... Shao Kahn who also can absorb souls restores his youth at the beginning of MK2 which is why he looks younger in that game
U notice every boss on MK always explodes or something, u can't ever "Finish Him" MK1- Shang Tsung explodes MK2, 3, trilogy, umk3, umkt- Kahn explodes MK4- shinnok falls into some pit of fire MKD: Onaga explodes MKA: Blaze explodes MKSM: Did Kahn explode on here? MK VS DC: Dark Kahn explodes MK9: Kahn explodes MK10: Shinnok "Once Again" explodes I know I left a few out but those are the ones I haven't played like MK Gold, mythologies Sub-Zero, special forces and the Mugen ones...... But point blank the bosses kill themselves 😂😂😂😂 I'm jus sayin
Shang Tsung didnt explode here, i never understand what was happening but his body was intact, maybe he lost his souls? the ability to transform? it was never explained.
