I find myself getting mixed up transitioning from 1 part of a combo to the next. Fingers kinda get lost and then try to compensate in panic through button spamming >.
@@saikyue4462 i play with keyboard and its all about practice and more practice to perfect combos , having said that its not difficult for me to play on keyboard as i have played all mk games in a keyboard
Great explanation fella, thanks for making my life a little easier. Mind you that was one of the simple kombos, I can only imagine how hard a more technical kombo will be. With this guy explaining it’ll certainly help a great deal.
Thanks for this man, I've been practicing some Takeda combos in the training room for a few hours now. Trying to hit those 30-40% combos however sometimes I'll get input errors and get the kunai instead of the tele or the the punch move instead of the spear (using the Shirai Ryu variation by the way). I was gonna ask do you think I'm putting in the inputs too fast? That or it could possibly be the fact that my game is literally running at 20 fps and it's extremely difficult to a lot of combos on my laptop lmao
I'm really confused on how to do some combos like for example the ones that have a + in them and there's one with mileena(piercing) its 4 triangle triangle, square+ x and idk how to do them
Ian C you can still grab, it just has a different function than a damage ender. It is a cross over. But its pretty good if you have an ice clone behind you and you do the string to force the opponent into it.
I've been having a ton of fun with kotal kahn online lately, but how do you recommend dealing with zoners? Besides just ducking the highs? Kotal Kahn has no way to get in safely that I'm aware of and his projectile is too slow to trade. (I use blood god, if that helps). I've tried just doing the sun ray to try to heal myself during being zoned but I always end up losing in that aspect too. Definitely uphill battles. Any tips?
im on Komplete and just beat that cheapas cow head. i still don't know how to combo lol thank you for this, i knew i'm missing something (aside from the run)
I really love your videos. But I think this video teaches you how to perform a combo (Using the most basic one) than how to learn combos from a character. Its pretty basic which is good for your channel, because you cover the most basic but important stuff that even the technical players struggle with. Although you do go into detail about the number notation, I thought this would have showed new players what to look for in their character's combo potential (that would be pretty long and would depend on the character). Its a pretty good video for new players, but I expected something else because of the title.
***** I was just mislead by the title that was all. I didn't say it was elite and I didn't say it was about hitting buttons in a certain order, I just thought you were going to do something else. Like i thought you were going to have another subzero breakdown and be like "So his ice projectile freezes the opponent for combo potential." and then "his forward 4 2 can either go into a throw or be cancelled into a slide." and then "Now that we know that, just connect those two together! Now if you want to get creative do this...or do that! But always look for damage or certain enders it will do." However that would have taken more time. We know we can hit buttons at any given time. Im not saying what you made was less elite, I thought it was great information for all players. To tell you the truth I was suprised when I saw "combos" in your title, because I know you barely go indepth with them since your purpose is to cover other things.
***** Happens to me a lot that when I try doing '214 teleport' as Scorpion, I do '21 minion grab' instead, any tips for this? Also you should do videos about how to read your opponent and how to escape wall pressure
sisen9 Check your controls, it probably has to do with release check being on. Turn that off and you will feel a difference in your combos and button sequence. What release check does is basically allow you to press the attack button before the directional buttons and do the special move the same time. So for your case you press 4 and then you press down back. Release check tells the game you were doing the minion grab when you just pressed "4 down back". The game will ignore that other button 3 you were going to press after because all the game needed was "4 down back". Does that make sense? I had that problem before with Injustice and I know that feel. And yes he definately should, using Erron black as an example who has one of the best wall pressures.
You can buffer the run way ahead of time. Like in this video's combo, you can buffer the run right after the B2 connects even if Sub-Zero hasn't recovered from it yet. You also don't have to hold down block for the run to keep going.
@@wawertube4720 you gotta test out each combo. Find a regular combo that puts the opponent in a juggle state, a juggle state being the moment of time where the opponent is defenseless or staggered, or in the air. After that use a special move or even another combo. Typically, special moves advance the combo. Think of combos as a pyramid that stacks special moves and regular combos together after another. Hope this helps.
@@zombieslaya780 Thanks I really appreciate it. I've been trying to get in to mortal Kombat x for a while but i gave up Everytime because I couldn't figure out the combo system
@@wawertube4720 np, repitition is key. It takes time, I was the shittiest scorpion player 2 weeks ago; now I'm decent with him. I hit most of my combos.
Bro I don’t understand this game. I’m using nimble reptile and I’m doing that one combo where u go into slow down and spam like 6 slides. For some reason instead of my slide it reads F4. I don’t know why it’s so stupid. It shows I put in BF4 but it comes out as F4.
It seems to me that your opponent must be brain dead to let you get huge combo stings out because whenever I play against a real opponent I get cancelled out of my strings
how can you get cancelled out of your sting other than a breaker hahaha. you meant to say "i cant figure out proper juggling so i drop my combos all the time"
So I recently started playing mkx again and couldn't get the whole idea of 1234. Now I've gotten it down and efficiently pull off combos now. I had to stop midvid cause I'd gotten more than I came here for in less than 1:45
