I think you forgot a very important aspect of takeda and that's his very weak wake-up attacks. Most of his wakeup attacks are very slow. Even if you meter burn for the armor it is slow enough to have the armor be cancelled. However there is a solution to that and that is his lasher variation. All his new specials are really quick and gain armor if EX. This is very useful for going up against liu Kang. I main takeda so I thought that this might be helpful for those who are trying to main takeda also. :)
Takeda is my new favorite mk character for sure, and I'm gonna main him I think. He's like a Jedi trained by scorpion--what is better than that? Now I just can't decide which variation to stick to as all of his are pretty beast. anyone else maining this guy?
Thanks for these videos dude. Everyone I see on streams use the same variations for every character like a hive mind. It's boring seeing the same Shirai Ryu Takeda's and Cryo Subzeros, and Ninjutsu Scorpions etc. Doesn't give us a chance to see the good shit.
How do you figure out which strings are best to use? Do you look for advantage on block, on hit, pop ups, start up, or what exactly is it that you look for in a string? And same question goes with special moves and basic moves. Good stuff btw. Youre definitely helping me out and saving me a lot of time. Looking forward to all of these breakdowns :)
At 2:34, you said it was an overhead low but I'm pretty sure its a mid low. I dont want to be that douche that corrects a pro but I just want to give you a heads up sajam
Is Takeda a beginner friendly character? Or is there a better pick for people new to fighting games? I've been told that Kung Jin and Cryomancer Sub-Zero are good picks due to them having easy combos. Do you think that question even deserves a separate video? Like introducing such a character to beginners and explaining what they should do with him and how they get to damage. I watched a stream, where it was said, that MKX is harder than Injustice and has very strict combo timing, which is throwing me off at the moment :-( Thanks.
I think beginner friendly cause I went to my friends house and we played mkx for my first time and I played with takeda and think I did pretty well I prefer Shi rye ri you
I'm getting the game on Sunday, so I'll be able to determine that. Takeda does seem like he has easy combos. I have one implanted into my brain after watching the same video 1,000+ times because I have a little bet with my friend. He owes me $1 if I can beat him in my first match without practice or even doing story mode. So I'm learning as many combos as I can. If you have the game, try this combo: Jump Back Punch (2) Forgotten Son (4,4) Whip Flip (Down, Back, 2+meter) Forgotten Son again Whip Assault (Back, Forward, ?2?) You can continue that combo, but that's a pretty basic one to start out with.
Logan Grosz He is pretty terrible at video games. Only reason why I made that bet. As for me, I learn really quick when it comes to video games. I can almost guarantee I only require about 5 minutes of practice time.
All this is cool and all but pulling off his moves in online matches is difficult ESP. With all the button mashers, when people are throwing random moves at you its hard to do any of his attacks
This character is so hella overused. Super easy braindead combos and every single one of them and their mother use b2 kunai to set it up. His normals are so long I dont even consider him a footsie based character I consider him a zoner with a godlike d4. Anyone can play thos character (which is awesome to people who are new)
