What would be the best cutter for tile for floor installers wanting to get into tile? We were thinking the 7 diamondback. Ir would a scribe cutter be better?

I would say for those cuts where mosaic piece is smaller than 2in, use of manual snipers along with cutting out the mesh as you progress would still give success. The purpose of pad to add thickness so bevel on snapper could stress enough each piece to snap it in, therefore when tile shape or thickness doesn’t allow that you get uncontrolled result. Having that in mind, sample with thick 2in squares wouldn’t need any padding anyway

I bought a rubber floor mat for $3 at Dollar General and was able to cut it into two mats. They work great. Thanks for the idea.

I use the cardboard that comes with the mosaic sheets on my baby sigma, the money you spend on that monti rug 😁 you can buy another cutter. I got the Masterpiuma P93 (36 inches) with the baseboard (extra) and it’s the 2nd worst investment that I made after festool grinder (the 1 that goes on the rail like ts55, can’t remember the model name). Both expansive and crap....oh it cuts this, it cuts that, any damn cutter will cut and snap those materials, it’s versatility that maters, measuring bar is on the wrong side, if you’re righty like I am, then you can’t see the wheel witch means you can’t do out of square cuts without using the tape and marker

Folks, the point of a snap cutter vs wet saw is it’s a lot easier to setup. If you can avoid getting out and setting up a wet saw, and dealing with the mess, then why not use the snap cutter?

Incase people are wondering the mouse paid is made from cc sponge and the other is made from ni sponge . Cc is closed cell sponge and NI stands for nylon inserted sponge. It definitely makes a difference. I used to make both with a waterjet.

You don't have the cheap tile cutter in your store. Can you add it?

A cheap yoga mat might be a bit sturdier and stickier than the mousepad. If the spine is helpful, you could adhere a strip of extra mat material to the back with hot glue or rubber adhesive.
