Wartime factory conversions were basically the standard of the day and this continued well after the end of the war. It's not at all uncommon to find parts match or parts mismatching factory conversions of wartime production rifles. So while some might say you've faked history with this rifle, it's still in keeping with the authentic practice.
Hey is it a high or low reciever model, mine is also a 1938 but its a low reciever, i just bought the same optic you did, kinda scared ill have a hard time mounting it because of that low reciever.
