I am relatively in good shape and also middle-aged I’ve owned the 12 gauge 20 gauge and now the 410 shockwave out of all of them the 410 makes more sense to me with the right ammunition you have federal and the Winchester which will do serious damage to someone. Especially being such a small firearm it’ll get the job done. Great review you don’t see too many reviews on this caliber in the shockwave.
What velocity were you getting from the federal copper plated #4 buckshot out of that longer barrel of the Shockwave, as that ammo is advertised at 850fps out of a handgun I wonder how much of a velocity difference it has out of thatch longer barrel?
Instead of using a leather sheath on the raptor pistol grip, try hockey tape. The colour of the tape is black, which matches the gun, the tape doesn’t cost very much to purchase and it is typically available at almost any retail sporting equipment merchant. It gives a more secure feel to the smooth raptor plastic grip. You can determine how much or little tape you need for “cushion “. It is easy to apply and you can encompass the entire grip surface. When the hockey tape gets dirty and/or wears out, you can very easily replace it. I find that hockey tape is the most ideal thing to use in this application versus applying skateboard tape, where that tape is more abrasive to be physically touching and holding on to with your bare hand.
I really want to see how this weapon handles Hornady .410 slug and buckshot rounds. I feel this thing would be very effective with them if you can mount a laser on it.
Just installed a monstrum red laser with picatinny mount for my 410 shockwave, love it, Amazon 39.95 you could also mount a light on the rail if you wanted. Great fit, solid,
Great vid. I had a 410 Shockwave. Nice little firearm. The leather sleeve is nice, but you might want to try a pistol grip hogue rubber sleeve. Greatly improved the grip. Just an idea. Stay safe and healthy. Peace
Number #4 buckshot is .240" caliber roughly, usually 27 are stuffed in a 2 3/4" 12 gauge shell. #4 birdshot is .130" in diameter and there's roughly 135 per 1 ounce.
Dave Allen yeah this will be my first gun. Just decided it was about time with how crazy the world is. Never know when people are gonna turn into breaking into houses instead of businesses.
Ive got a Henry axe because its well crafted and Beautiful, But the Shockwave is also nice. Picking one up if i can find one locally. Braced and gripped
"IF" you can find a Henry, the price gouging on that is ridiculous for what it is. I looked at 23 different online shops before I found one in stock and they wanted $1800 for it! I just found a Mossberg at the shop down the street for $360. I could buy two more AND a few cases of ammo and still be ahead..... The Henry ain't all that.
