I guarantee you he's not shooting slugs or 00 buck. He's either shooting bird shot or shooting Fiochi made for him with lighter recoil. I agree he's the best shooter in the world!
@@JohnSmith-wr1vz He's shooting whatever he wants, which is probably target shot. It's not an 8 gauge. There's plenty of videos from the sw500, to the Barrett 50, to the 450bm... of him shooting with no issue, I'm sure he could shoot the same speed but not hit the clays with slugs.
OMG! What a "Dream Shotgun" and what an insanely awesome Marketing Video! Jerry and Lena, are among, if not the very best competition shooters in the entire world! I am in awe and amazement, of them. And a Huge Congratulations to O. F. Mossberg and Sons, Inc. for designing and adding these beautiful improvements to an already perfect shotgun. Now the 940 is head and shoulders above the 930s! Exciting changes and improvements! and the gold against the black looks absolutely stunning and beautiful! I'm just stunned. Thank You All, at Mossberg!
I have to keep watching this video! This is the most awesome marketing video, I've seen in quite some time. Many words come to mind, like Awesome, Brilliant, Innovative, Exceptional, Exciting, etc.
@@ianhelmstadter4206 Well, I liked them so much, I bought four. One for every member of the family. ))) And they shoot just like this video, as fast as you can pull that trigger. These shotguns are unreal and well worth every penny. They are incredible!
I just bought the mossberg maverick in 12 gauge. I’ve got 3 of them now. They’re great guns dependable shotguns. I have 2 model 88’s the Mavericks and one model 99 the 3-1/2 chamber shotgun. I like my Mossbergs. I got a rifled slug barrel to so I bought another model 88 so I can put my slug barrel on my older maverick and use the new one to rabbit and dove or squirrel hunt with. I have some trouble finding choke tubes for them around here in Tn. I’ll probably have to order me some. I’ve got plenty of modified and improved cylinder tubes I’m wanting a full choke tube for one of them. I’ll order me a couple in a day or two. Thanks for making great guns that the every day person can afford.
..my dad got a mdl 500, back in the 60's. we've been a Mossberg fam, ever since..I've never heard, nor seen anything to cause a change, aha. ..there is a 940 Pro 10 shot at a 'Man mall' nearby..oof! Tis a thing of beauty! ..that 'ol mdl 500 is semi retired, now..I have a very low mile mid 60's one, to carry the Mossberg torch, these days..amazing for blasting tin cans, clays and home defense :) _that 940 Pro deffo has a strong siren call, though..aha_
Mossberg, would be nice if y'all could actually make a few of these so I could buy one. I have been on the "notify me when in stock" list for like 6 different stores for around 4-5 months and not a single one has been seen.
@@kevinrivera6302 8 months now. Haven't seen a single one in store. Haven't got a single "remind me when in stock" notification. See plenty of 500s, plenty of 870s, a few 930s. Not a single 940. Just because there is record sales doesn't mean I wouldn't see ONE in 8 months. It also might be the fact that companies are spitting out defensive guns while specialty ones are on the back burner.
I just bought this 940 brand new a few days ago on August 28, 2021 for home defense and plinking. I have not fired it once. While searching for videos on RU-vid on how to disassemble this gun and clean it, I came across a video that someone put up showing this thing jamming very badly. After watching it, I was worried and wondered if mine was ok. So, I decided to manually cycle rounds through it, without firing the gun, to see if mine would properly cycle. So, I loaded it with four rounds of new Winchester 2 3/4 inch and four shells of a Turkish brand ammo that I bought(there was no American ammo) when I picked up my gun from the store.....eight rounds total in the magazine. I began my test by manually pulling back the operating handle quickly, which put a round from the magazine into the port, and then letting the handle go to chamber the round. Almost every second or third pull of the handle caused a jam just like in that "jamming" video. I tested the gun for twenty minutes this way experiencing a round getting stuck in the loading port and not chambering almost every other pull. At one point, the gun actually chambered a round loading the gun while trying to simultaneously place TWO ROUNDS in the loading port...one round was entirely in the port while the other was partially sticking out of the magazine and partially in the port jamming it against an the other round sitting in the port. It was jammed so badly that it took a half hour for me to figure out how to unjam the rounds from the loading port. All this happened while a round was still in the chamber loaded which I could not remove because after unjamming the port with the two rounds, the bolt got locked in the forward position and I cannot open it to eject the round...the operating handle and bolt are jammed shut. Now I have to send this brand new, never fired gun back to Mossberg with it loaded. After I get it back, I'll sell it....for a huge loss no doubt. Just think, for a couple hundred dollars more I could have bought a Binelli.....smfh
Something I learned quickly with any brand new Mossberg is cycle a couple of rounds and then look for plastic shavings. Then dismantle the gun completely and file out all of the little flanges of metal from the edges of parts. Then use a Dremel and a polishing nub with compound to smooth out those stamped, pressed edges. This saves a world of headaches from happening. Mossberg shotguns are usually as unrefined as Ruger bolt action rifles out of the box. I swear, it's better to use a solvent to remove all lubricants and replace the lube with polishing compound, then cycle the action 1,000 times. Ugh. It sucks but it is worth the effort. Think of it as breaking in new boots.
@@george.giannop so far I only shot clay targets with target load cartridges. Cycle well and the kick is crisp. I like the intermediate barrel length: combined with the chokes you get a versatile clay shooter. And it looks awesome. Like all gas operated guns, it gets dirty right at the first shot, can handle a standard half day of rounds of clay. Heard it still cycle well after a thousand shots. For a gas operated shotgun that cycle well, I found the bolt to chamber rather slowly if the bolt release button is used. No feeding problems however. All in all, I'm satisfied with my purchase. It's my go-to for clay target shooting. I know Jerry wouldn't have put his name on a shitty gun. Hope it helps. Cheers.
Was the double feed /jam problem when the bolt release gets bumped on a chambered round and loaded magazine tube issue "fixed" because that larger button seems to make it easier to do so?
