ABOUT ME:
My name is Mengy and this is my motovlog channel, Moto Mengy. I plan to upload a Goldwing motovlog every Sunday. I ride a 2018 Honda Goldwing DCT Tour but I rode Harley Davidson's for 25+ years before. I'm motovlogging with a GoPro Hero 8 Black mounted to a Bell Mag 9 open face helmet, no external mic! To me riding is wind therapy.
My goal for the channel is to motovlog Pennsylvania country roads while also motovlog exploring around America. I'll also talk about biker topics and such, probably test ride a few other motorcycles, and will definitely get lost and accidentally wind up on unpaved roads along the way.

Yep, it is true. Dealerships are saying new fuel pumps will ship this summer. Major bummer! Thanks for the video, MM. Appreciate you keeping your viewers informed.

I checked the number on my pump when this was first announced and my fuel pump and it is not one of the bad ones and doesn't need replacement. It mostly affects the 2018 and 2019 models.

@@MotoMengy With yours being a 2018 it is 99.9% chance it has to be replaced. His video wasn't the most accurate as he said the part number didn't matter and it does. First you look at the part number, depending on the part number then you check the date code. Any of the pumps with AO2 in the part number are good. It is just the ones with AO1 in the part number that you need to check the date code

I read somewhere that there is another problem with a bolt I think some where by the trans that can break and lock the motor up and trash the trans . No recall yet they are just keeping it quite and fixing or replacing the trans but also can damage the motor . It effects both dct and standard trans .

I have a 2023 Goldwing and the pump is fine. Bear in mind many people who have 2018 fuel pumps have had no problems at all. Honda are doing the right thing anyway. A02 are fine if you have an A01 thats the number to look at under the seat and on top of the Fuel pump. Its very easy to spot.

Yeah sounds like most 2023 Wings are okay, its the earlier ones which mainly have the issue.

Nah I plan to ride my Wing like nothing is wrong, and when the pumps become available the actual repair job only takes a few hours. (knocks on wood...)

I have a 2018. My letter arrived a couple weeks ago => parts will not be available until July at the earliest - dealer confirmed this. He also added that he CBR line is equally affected, as are ’19 - ’23 Can Am’s. My dealer right now has a dead CBR 600 waiting for the pump. So it's going to be a while. Oh yeah - and there are 5M Honda cars worldwide, same years, affected with the same issue.

This is old news. People are freaking out. Many are suffering from FPDS Fuel Pump derangement syndrome.🤪 Just ride it and don't worry about it.

I guess there is a recall for the mysterious bolt breaking in the transmission and getting caught in the transmission gears and destroying the motor and possibly causing a life and death situation .... I have seen many with this problem happening and frankly , I would never ever own one of theses with problems like that , I couldnt get over that fact while I am at speed on this bike , that it could just lock up ... NO WAY JOSE ... I ride a goldwing everyday and thats just crap ... Whats going on over at mother honda these days ? Ill stick with the older models
