@@hemiram007 yeah my first choice was going to be Sundown but I just didn't have enough for a Sundown X or ZV6 so I went with the Resilient Sounds Platinum subwoofer that handles 3500rms watts all day. If you don't believe it then Sundown needs to test a RS Platinum subwoofer. It says 2000rms but that flat wound 8 layer coil just can't be beat for the price. Now if the U series had an 8 layer flat wound voice coil and raised the price by $50 I would of definitely went with the Sundown U series instead of the Resilient Sounds Platinum subwoofer for $500 new on sale for the 18". I have good rebassed music 🎶 playlist✔️ IT OUT👍
I had a set of the red mtx thunder pros back in the day. One of them blew the voice coil straight out the motor, ripped the spider clean off and wedged the coil sideways ontop the motor lol good times!
Only thing i can think of that would possibly have it break like that is it being bolted up in a box and dropped from high enough for the weight of the motor to snap the basket supports. Thats a wild one right there. Never seen any shit like that.
That's the pull start LMaO. What yall doing to these things. I've got 2 SAV2 10"S wired @ 1ohm on a Surge 7k. Yes I have to pay attention to the clipping indicator but I have never heard 2 10s sound so damn good.
I beat the snot out of an sa12 v1 with 1500rms, then wired a single coil to about 900 for a few more months after the tinsels went on one side, then eventually the bottom magnet slug separated from the the top two somehow. Lol it’s just a door stop now. Will buy another
But for real. How??? I’ve let subs in a prefab box be free in the trunks and slide around. Poked a hole in a surround from the trunk latch but never broke like that
You can still yardsale it. I got a zv5 a couple years ago with a damaged motor. I assumed that the damage was caused by FedEx dropping it out of the back of truck onto the ground when they delivered it. But when I contacted customer service they told me yardsale subs are as is. So even though I was hoping I could file an insurance claim with FedEx, sundown didn't have my back because it was a yardsale sub. Main reason I have been leary about buying anymore yardsale stuff.
