As a Puerto Rican Italian with a thick lash line… waterliner is my best friend in making me look balanced - I have very long bottom lashes they are just sparse
Just use black eyeshadow but place it where lashes grow out, but only line 2/3 from outer end. Gradually thin it out as you get closer to ending it. Get drama without making eyes appear small. Wet the brush before dipping in shadow.
I’m 61 and I haven’t put a thing on my under eye (concealer) for 20 years now. My niece taught me a several tricks. Once I have my hair and makeup routine done, 45 mins, I can still genuinely pass for early 40. I love how you are so real, to the point and teach. You are appreciated. ☮️🌸🕊
I remember doing the black eyeliner all the way around in high school😄Then I learned the trick to only line halfway in, to open the eye and make the bottom lashes look thicker/ darker. I taught all 4 of my daughters the same by doing each eye differently side by side so they could see how it closes the eye off.
Love love love how you’re teaching about balance when it comes to makeup-all these different techniques are beautiful, but sometimes you need to focus on one technique and makeup the rest of the face to balance that
First of all you are stunning ❤. Now I’m 52. Back when I was a teenager in the 80s we’d heat up our black eyeliner and put it on exactly like you did 😅. The problem is some women my age still do it
I think everyone is missing your point… of course you can do whatever look you want! BUT when you only line your waterline it looks harsh and unprofessional. It should be part of a smokey look, not natural eyeshadow and harsh black liner.
I know what you are talking about… just a fresh , daily makeup… however, I looove that black line right under my eye… in fact, I was wondering what product/s you’re using to achieve this effect… it never stays like this for me.. yours is so crisp and evenly dark all the way across your eye… thank you 🙏
I learned from a make-up artist to line the bottom from the outside corner to the pupil. He said that the full lower eyelid became popular after the movie Cleopatra with Elizabeth Taylor came out.
Oh I've been doing this for months!! I have dow eye's and one day I put on a full black liner like she did and it was to harsh on my eye's. and so what I did I put on a light brown lower lash line like she did. but I also like to put a light maroon shade on my inner corner just to make my eye's POP!!!
fr i only do the dark liner on inner waterline when i do my makeup for a night out or when i want my eyes to look smaller (because my eyes are round and big)
I used to use the eyeliner pencil and apply it to my top lid line and then just shut my eyes so it can transfer to the bottom. That way it gave a hint of it on the bottom line but not obvious. My eyes are annoyingly sensitive and it was a trick I was taught by a makeup artist. That was back in the day though so I'm sure things changed. 😎👍
I have gray-green eyes and if I line the waterline it makes my eyes seem clear and see-through. I naturally fell on this technique cause it makes my eyes pop instead of drowning them.
I have done both for two different looks , personally I do ,do the brown way more but only because it matches the look I’m going for most of the time but even the first way looks good and I do like and use❤️
"Mistake"? What you call a mistake is my very purposeful action. I have big bug eyes & I like the liner all the way across my lash line/water line specifically bc it closes my eyes a bit. I don't want a light brown dust of shadow to open my eyes even more.
You got that right, for those of us that have smaller eyes and are wanting to make them appear bigger- would benefit from this tip. If you are trying to make your eyes appear smaller then absolutely- keep lining them all the way !!!!
I literally have done this for years. It helps the extension of your eye it's like eye contour depending how you do it it can make your eyes look bigger
I'm 40yrs and love seeing these young girls figuring out makeup and what works best for them just like I did at their age. Keep sharing the knowledge, the internet is becoming a big sister ❤
I’ve been doing this for years and a little white eyeliner in the inner corners. Trust me when I say it gives you a more natural look with the desired effect. Brown is especially good if you have blue or green eyes as it really makes them pop too!
I think it depends on your eyes and the type of eyeliner you use. Some people have oily skin and everything gets messsd up. Other people look good and have no issues putting eyeliner in their waterline.
This is how I’ve been doing my makeup since middle school and my older sister always acted like it was silly! Personally? I think she looked silly the way she did her eye liner, but I never told her because I didn’t want to make her feel bad
When I use First Light from Gen See or Mac Paint Pot in Vintage Selection, I use the Girlactick shadow stick in Sateen along my lower lash line, where it shows up bright and pink!
