Most Common Travel Mistake To Avoid for Aurora Borealis Northern Lights

I see this so often and people can get very upset when their expectations do not get met. If you aren't interested in Iceland's other activities in winter, do not go there JUST for the Northern Lights also known as Aurora Borealis. If you want a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights, travel to Fairbanks, Alaska between mid-August to mid-April.

I’d rather go to Kiruna/Abisko, Sweden. Even higher probability. I was there for only two nights. First night was arrival night and I saw them from my hotel room and second night I went up the hotel’s ski lift to their view point. I not only saw green lights but also saw red ones which are rarer.

Hi! Thank you for sharing with us how to hunt down the dragon ( Aurora)! I hope you're don't mind me asking few things. In which time of the year were you there? And, if you're remember, where were you staying? (P.s English is my second language. So there might be grammar errors. I warned you.....)
@esracaglayan5495

@@namiakatsuki970 Yeah it was in January. I specifically stayed at a place called Abisko, near Kiruna. The hotel is STF Abisko Touriststation. They have a lake nearby (which was completely frozen over when I visited) as well as the Mountain View point I mentioned before. TO get there, I flew from Stockholm to Kiruna and then took a train to Abisko (though on the way back, I took a bus instead). The town of Kiruna has been moved since I visited so the options may be different. However there's definitely a bus available to get to Abisko from Kiruna.
